This is just for the mailing services, but from when they were in their old location to their new location, they’ve always had the most helpful and knowledgeable employees.
Their new location has easier on-​street parking (the lot in the back of the old one was like Tetris for cars).
They have my information as well as my mom’s address in their computer system, so it makes for fast easy shipping, and they have all the packing supplies needed to get my goods where they need to go. They also have cute artwork and knick knacks for sale, but usually I’m in such a rush to mail something that I haven’t had the chance to look around.
If you can’t handle the post office (like me), and would like to support local. Come on over here to get your schtuff shipped!!!

They are very friendly, convenience for me. I’m so glad to have them here because I hate to be looking for a Postal Office or UPS.

Nice shop, friendly employees (for the most part.) My complaint is having to wait so long to be helped. I watched them work and there was no hurry the get people done and on their way. People value time now days. this is how FEDEX and UPS have been successful. Average business, but room for improvement! Could be great!

They are very friendly in here and the location is more convenient than going to the damn post office or ups store (what a pain in the ass to drive to those) if you live in this area like I do.
Even though it’s on Magazine, I have never had trouble parking less than a block away.
One thing you should know — if you drop off say, a Zappos return with a prepaid label, they charge you a dollar here which ups store does not but no bigs. Just an FYI.

Easy going and friendly staff work this handy post office located in a great location right on Magazine St. They handle all your parcel posting needs from packaging your goods to shipping them off anywhere around the world.
They always quote you before they charge you so they aren’t any nasty surprises. They may be a tad more expensive than going directly through the post office but you can’t pass up the convenience of the location and friendliness of the staff.
They also offer a small range of goods to purchase to add to your shipment or for you to simply keep yourself. They also leave our free nibblies to snack on while you wait.

Still my go to shipping spot. The service is always friendly and courteous. They are very willing to find the best shipping method at the best price.
The retail/​gift items are still there and definitely show a local flare, so if there is a line you can shop while you wait.
They also always have snacks out, either fresh fruit or cookies which is a really generous, personal touch.

Like my comment, fast, accurate, efficient.

I go to Parcels and Post at least twice a month. The service is always great. Heidi is professional and personable. I mail original artwork and get unsolicited feedback from my collectors about how well my paintings were packaged. The last person said the painting could have made it around the world.
It is always a pleasure to do business with Heidi. I just drop paintings, gifts, whatever off and Heidi sends me a confirmation email later that day.

Update: They did manage to track down one of my lost packages, had it returned & refunded my money, but the other has vanished completely. I appreciated their efforts to rectify their mistake, but it still could have been totally avoided had they just double checked their original work. The second (and still missing) parcel they are blaming on USPS negligence, so I guess I’m left either continuing to use them, or going straight to the USPS. Not thrilled with either option!

What an awesome little place. They do it all there and even tell you all of your options for prices and speed of delivery. Even at Christmas, they will have 2 lines and they treat each custome as if they were the only one. I will never go any where else for my shipping/​mailing needs…

Absolutely adore this place! So glad I discovered it, because I use them all the time now. (Well, to be fair, I didn’t actually discover Parcels & Post. My roommate recommended them to me.)
First of all, in the digital age, it’s virtually impossible to buy stamps. Anywhere. It’s maddening. As I’m sure you can imagine, Parcels & Post sells stamps, and they’ll also handle any and all of your shipping needs. I literally handed them a suitcase I needed to ship back to my mom, no box, no instructions, just a «please send this to [address]» and voila! They did something (probably magic), and my mom received it the following week. So easy.
My other favorite thing about this place is the fact that it’s far more than a one-​stop-​shop for all your postage and shipping needs. It feels very much like a community center of sorts: they sell various items from local artists (I found THE perfect wedding card for my cousin here), and they also have one of those «take a book, leave a book» bookcases. Love it. Totally borrowed a book from there the other day, and have a bunch that I’m going to donate to their collection when I come back.
This place is super convenient for me, since it’s basically right up the street, but it’s even worth the drive if you happen to live somewhere other than uptown. There’s a parking lot and everything! They also do pick ups if you have stuff to ship, and probably a whole bunch of other stuff I don’t even know about. So if I’ve not covered something in this review, just give ‘em a call! I’m sure they’ll be more than happy to help.

I’ve used Parcels & Post twice to ship large packages that require insurance and delivery confirmation. The first time, I arranged pickup of a large synthesizer/​keyboard via phone. They came to my apartment, picked up the synth, got my CC imprint, packed and shipped it. It was an excellent service, reasonably priced, and the synth arrived to its new owner in perfect condition. The second time I brought a package to their store location: a relatively small box, but with contents that needed to be insured at more than $ 1,000 USD. Once again, the helpful folks at Parcels & Post found me the best deal and had everything taken care of within minutes.
So, the prices might be a little more expensive than packing everything yourself and arranging delivery via FedEx, UPS or USPS, but they provide very competent one-​stop full service for all the major parcel carriers, and there are times when the convenience is more than worth the extra expense.

I have been in New Orleans almost a year now and have yet to write a Unilocal review, until now. I’ll keep it short and sweet. This place is the epitome of small business southern hospitality. They treat you like a person, not like a number! Every time I leave the store I find myself smiling; friendliness goes a long way. Oh yeah, and they got my package from New Orleans to Chicago in 2 days at the cheapest price, that is important too!

I have spent much of my short life waiting in lines at the post office and dealing with the less than enthusiastic and generally unhelpful people they employ. My first experience with Parcels & Post was a breath of fresh air and will now become my regular stop for my mailing needs. Reasons? I’ll give you reasons!
1. No super long line! The lovely people behind the counter are quick and efficient.
2. Friendly service. Just try to get a postal worker to smile – it’s damn near impossible. I walked in the door at P & P and was greeted with a smile!
3. Lots of mailing choices – from USPS to UPS to FedEx. Who doesn’t like choices?
4. Mailing supplies in store and they will tape up your package for you. Any other place (UPS, FedEx, and USPS) all charge you $ 3 for a roll of packing tape even if you bought a roll last time and forgot to bring it in.
5. Beautiful, sunny interior. Maybe it’s just a personal thing but if I am going to wait in line to mail off a package, I’d like to be in a place that’s nice with some good stuff to look at. I don’t know how many times I have read the same posters in every post office under the stinking florescent lights. Trust me, it gets old after a while. I love all the little souvenirs and even some snacks left out for the enjoyment of their customers. What post office boasts this kind of atmosphere?
In conclusion, next time you have to mail something try Parcels and Post and see if you won’t be hooked. I’m sure there are other things worth mentioning about the store and their many offerings but really, just check it out for yourself.

This is a very nice place with off street parking and friendly people to mail any package. I will use their services than taking a chance with the USPO. And I had no problem with delivery of my package. Did not ask if they sell stamps but I am sure they do. I do miss seeing the dogs that were there in past times.

I will never again have to deal with the prospect of going postal… Hello, lifesaver!!!
I was just wondering… is there anyone out there who hates going to the post office as much as I do? Silly question, I know. Parcels & Post is here to save your day. Located conveniently Uptown on Magazine St., you will totally feel like you’re entering the post office in a small town circa 1922. You get friendly, quick service, even at the peak of the mail season. Add that to that the convenience of having access to a variety of mailing options (USPS, UPS and Fed Ex) without having to deal with any of those often nightmarish offices/​stores and I prove my point there in the first line.
There are also fun New Orleans souvenirs/​gifts in here, so don’t seal your box of gifts before arriving! I had already and came pretty close to ripping it open to throw in a CD of local holiday music.
Pro tip: Live in the area and don’t like the idea of packages being left on your doorstep? You can have them mailed to Parcels & Post for $ 2 a package and they will keep them for a week, possibly longer if you arrange it beforehand, say if you’re going out of town!

The hubs and I just got hitched in a destination wedding in New Orleans (we live in San Diego), and ended up with a random box of centerpieces, cupcake frosting-​covered table numbers, a pair of socks, etc. etc. that needed to make its way back to San Diego (well, most of it did). We had limited time on our last day in nola, so we tried to avoid a post office and found Parcels & Post on my beloved Magazine St. I just think they’re great because they have parking in the back, no line, and the gentlemen working there were friendly, polite, easy-​going and New Orleansy (I don’t know quite what that means, but you know what I mean).
We commented as we were driving away that we wish we had a shipping place in San Diego where the people were so down-​to-​earth and neato. It would make a necessary evil a lot more pleasant :). Oh! And they had free cookies and bananas! Scoooooore.

I am fairly reaterded when it comes to mailing packages. I never have the right box, the right labels… it causes me undue stress to the point that I’d rather just avoid it altogether if possible. Post offices are crap here in New Orleans. They will turn you away after you’ve waited in a forever long line because something was off about your package you weren’t aware…
Needless to say this little place was a godsend for me the last time I mailed something. They explained to me in layman’s terms what my options were for mailing. The employee helped me wrap everything in bubble wrap & tape up the box properly. All the while calling me «madam» and making jokes!
They have all kinds of funky, random, cheap, little gifts available for sale too. Not to mention a paperback trade or borrow, bows & wrapping paper, cd’s, cookbooks etc. Also there’s usually a box of complimentary cookies to the right of the counter for waiting customers to munch on!
Super friendly, kind of funky, and knowledgeable quirky staff have me sold on this place. It’s officially the one and only mail center that I will drive across town for all of my mailing needs!
