History

Established in 2013.

The Original Oyster Factory is the latest restaurant venture of the Zuppardo family. At the helm of popular local eateries such at The Gumbo Pot and Brick Oven Café, the Zuppardo family is well-known for creating restaurants with inviting décor and hearty dishes. After laying eyes on the beautiful location on Toulouse St just off of Decatur in the French Quarter, Owner Mike Zuppardo and his mother, Chef-Owner Renata Zuppardo, they knew it was the right location for their new restaurant concept. As luck would have it, upon discovering more of the history of the building, it was discovered that the location once housed an Oyster House in the 1800s.

After renovating the property which had been vacant since Hurricane Katrina, the Zuppardos took their time in creating a welcoming environment with rustic details and top of the line finishes. What resulted is a venue with some serious old world charm and modern amenities that pays tribute to the history of the area with more than ambience.
