Omni Riverfront Hotel

Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Walking distance to French quarter, bourbon at, and the casino. Rooms were clean! Didnt spend much time at the hotel as we were busy exploring the city, but was everything we needed while we were in town!

Loved my stay at this hotel. We had a small group here, with a meeting in one of the meeting rooms. Initially there were some noise issues, but the staff took care of things immediately. I stayed in one of their two-​story suites, which was really different but I loved — I could have people in the sitting area for meetings, and my sleeping area was totally separate up the stairs. Nice little lobby bar, Eric (bartender) was great and super helpful about things to do around New Orleans. The concierge (can’t remember his name, starts with an R) was super helpful. Front desk staff was always very helpful. There is a small restaurant there, but with so many dining options in the neighborhood, it was never very busy — so service tended to be slow, and the menu is limited, but it was a nice option and the food was good. The Omni Riverfront is nicely located — just across and half a block from the Convention Center, a decent outlet mall across the street if you forgot to pack anything, and the Julia Street streetcar stop is a short walk away to take you to the French Quarter if you don’t want to walk. It is also only a few blocks from the Canal Street line so you can get to other parts of the city very easily. It was a nice homebase — the streetcar lines made it easy to get everywhere, but once back it was quiet and relaxing. Will definitely be back. If you sign up for the free membership with Omni Hotels, you get free wifi and other amenities.

Outstanding hotel time and time again. Clean. Safe. Away from city trash. Taxi to good food and taxi back. Shopping just across street.

I have stayed at many hotels in New Orleans and I loved this one! Very friendly staff, very helpful recommendations on where to eat and best spots to watch Mardi Gras parades.
Our room had two queen beds, large flat screen tv, min frudge, coffee maker, desk and arm chair. Nice size room and bathroom, loved the showerhead!

I loved this place from the time we stepped out of the cab. It was beautiful. Once we stepped in the lobby, the smell of Christmas was evident, but not in the wow, that’s strong, it was in the oh I love Christmas kind of way. The staff was friendly, the location was within walking distance of the superdome and the French quarter. It was really awesome. A few things, we did have a room that we had to walk a good deal in a circle to get to from the elevators, but that is a design in the building and certainly not a huge deterrent. If you stay here, on the night before you leave, put the do not disturb sign on your door handle, otherwise, housekeeping will knock on your door around 8 to see if you’re still there and then again a couple of hours later.

Renovated for real!
The entrance is grand: water fountain, palm trees, crescent driveway w/​valet service. However, when I arrived (3p, Thurs.) the valet was nowhere to be found for 4 mins! All else is done very well. The bar, floors (wood panels laid individually!), elegant chandeliers throughout the lobby, brick facades and steel beams inside rooms and outside (classic Nola), and high ceilings. Quiet, yet walkable to Canal st., one block from convention center, and very close to warehouse district bars and restaurants. Although the bar in the lobby is quality. Say hey to Kurt!
I think the Omni has one of the best locations in Nola for those who are a little «over» Bourbon St. for 24 hrs but want to explore other areas as well.

Great hotel. A group of us stayed there for the weekend and it was far away enough from the French Quarter to avoid too much noise and madness, but close enough to walk.
Pros: Great rooms, staff, décor and location in terms of close things.
Cons: Ugly views of the outlet mall out the front windows, they charged my card twice and refused to admit they did so am now having to do a dispute with my bank.

The toilet had mold under the rim. I was very disappointed because this is 4-​star hotel. It looks like the area under the rim has not been cleaned for several months or over a year. I stayed at both name brand and boutique hotels, and all toilets would be mold-​free if not spotless. This is a 4-​star hotel and it is disappointing that this part of the bathroom is overlooked. See attached pictures of the severity of the molds.
Also, the front desk did not detail the total that will be held on my credit card. For a 4-​night stay, we booked Omni Riverfront through
, book now pay after your stay, for $ 550.20 (includes tax). Omni held $ 750.20 on my card ($ 550.20 + $ 200 incidentals). If front desk informed me before holding $ 750 on my card at check in, I should have told them that I will wait for my friend to arrive and we will give two cards to split the difference.
Other than these extremely important concerns, the hotel is centrally located. One block away from the Riverfront streetcar line that takes you to the French Quarter. One block walking distance from the Riverfront Outlet shopping center. There is a convenience store a block away that sells everything, water, snacks, souvenirs, OTC meds, and wine/​liquor. Beds are comfortable.
But other than this, I do not think I want to stay in that hotel again. One, they want their money right away. Two, their toilets are dirty. So I do not see how they want their money right away and they don’t clean their toilets properly.

Booked a room Friday-​Sunday for vacation. Coming from Dallas my fiancé and I arrived we stayed in a king bed on the 6^th floor. I was about 85 – 90 degrees in our room. We left for a night out with the A/​C on 60 hoping it would cool off. Long story short it didn’t we got a new room same problem. Front desk was awesome and got us a box fan which we used and staff comped us with $ 50 to the bistro which is good. The A/​C in the rooms suck that is the only drawback to this hotel.

«Ren» is incredibly personable and wealth of knowledge of New Orleans history and the present «who and wheres».
3-​Overall the Omni staff is second to none and everyone we encountered were very pleasant and appeared to enjoy their jobs. refreshing! If you are interested in cold beer or great totties… congenial Bar tenders Kurt and Juan will tighten you up.
4-​Room service a little sloppy with following the menu so beware.
5-​Room very clean.
6-​Convenient location to River Walk Mall across the street and Bourbon Street about 15 min walk.
(We are and have been very active domestic and intl travelers for business and pleasure for many years.
Typically Hilton brand hotels and as many different restaurants and cuisines possible ranging from great wings to beyond. We appreciate good services and accordingly tip generously to encourage perpetuating it for other patrons that follow.)

We stayed here for 5 nights in a king room which was at end of hallway. It was nice and pretty pleased with it. The wifi is weak though and we requested a mini fridge day 1 but never got. Those 2 were the cons really. Housekeeping was good as well as check in desk. The breakfast buffet was included in our package and was so so. Service was outstanding though. The valet was pretty quick and very nice. It’s a ways down to the quarter from here so be prepared. Fitness room is small here but we used the Omni in the quarter for fitness and big pool on roof at no charge since we staying at Omni hotel. Get a free pass at the quarter Omni check in desk. We will try to stay at this one next. I also had a plate of chocolate chip cookies with chocolate covered strawberries and pralines in room upon arrival since it was my birthday. That was so nice and surprising and they were damn good too!
My son also got milk and cookies that evening on them.
Highly recommended!

We arrived Friday afternoon and checked into the Premier king size historic newly renovated room on the 2^nd floor with a beautiful view of the River Walk. Was as close to perfection as anyone could imagine. It wasn’t until Saturday when we woke from a brief nap after an eventful day in the French Quarter, my girlfriend spotted a bug in the bed, so I killed it and thought nothing more of it… within 20 seconds there were bugs crawling all over the place, on the night stand a few in the bed and a few on my luggage. We were attempting to kill them but quickly realized (because my girlfriend is from NO) that we need to call the manager on duty. My girlfriend call the manger as I was shaking more bugs off of my laundry bag and clothes in my suitcase. The manager proceeded to explain that, it’s termite season in NO… why does this matter when we are paying 140 a night for a premier hotel!!! She asked if we wanted the room treated!!! after we respectfully declined. She then sent an engineer up to «analyze» the situation. Needless to say, «she» finally came up took pictures and finally reviewed the situation. Then she proceeded to tell us the story of her home and her termite situation, I guess this was to relate? She also told us that they could have come in on our bags… we did no shopping. She also asked about our drinking containers from Fat Tuesday’s and mentioned that this could have attracted it… I’m sorry ma’am, are you serious right now!!! After asking repeatedly how we could be compensated, we were moved to another room a few doors from where we were, with no view and a shower that had pressure so strong it wet the entire bathroom floor but it is free for our last night which is tonight… So I guess we should be satisfied.
Long story short and four hours of your reading time later, lol, this wasn’t expected from such a «fine» and well respected establishment. All of our local family was shocked to hear that we had this type of experience at the Omni.
Oh! And one last last thing… We woke up to a generic unsigned letter under our door from the GM the next day stating that the Omni strives for success and that if we wanted to put our name in the raffle for some free sh*t feel free. Gee thanks?

Nice architecture, NOLA style façade. Rooms have sliding wood doors to obscure the bathroom — an interesting. Stepping into the room I encountered slate and wood tile — modern touch. A personally written letter, water, and fresh bucket o’ ice refreshed 2x daily, was nice and unexpected. Turndown service was inspected by the supervisor, who stepped into my room to inspect whether her Team refreshed my bucket and turned down my sheets (a little weird). #turndownforwhat?
So… why only 3 stars? Limited food offerings in hotel restaurant, limited hotel amenities,
and no business office. Anything that needs printing must be emailed to the hotel so the staff can print it for you. No privacy.
Cool: free macaroons in the lobby for National Macaroon Day, and 1 free juice and newspaper each morning. Very nice staff, and tourist concierge selling sightseeing tours, in the lobby.

Had to update this review and drop this hotel to one star. On our last night some staff member going up and down halls with two way radio turned up to full volume. Bathrooms tiny with barn door that offers zero privacy. Housekeeping did not replenish coffee supplies. Parking costs $ 34 daily and they park your car four blocks away so be prepared for wait when you call for your car. All in all, this hotel is way below typical Omni standards. There are much better places to stay in New Orleans.

We absolutely love this hotel! It’s ambiance and decir is superb, and it is conveniently located close to the convention center as well as the other major venues in New Orleans. It is one of my top choices to stay whenever I visit.

Such an amazing experience!
I was greeted apron my arrival. The gentlemen that worked at the valet & bell desk offered to assist me w my luggage, they opened the doors for me & directed me to the front desk. Excellent Customer service. Dee was awesome, he was there working every day on our trip & went out of his way to accommodate our requests. The staff went above & beyond to make our staff enjoyable.
The Bed & pillows… I wish I was able to fit in my luggage. Seriously, the most comfortable EVER! The room was clean & simply perfect. Would recommend to anyone. Will stay there again. Easy walk to downtown and a block from the trolley, very convenient location. This was my first visit to NOLA & it was, without a doubt, perfect!

There’s no hotel shuttle but you can purchase a single or round trip ticket at the airport. Check in was courteous and efficient. I like the added security of the elevators requiring the use of a room key. The room was clean and the temp was comfortable. I could tell that some renovations had taken place. The bathroom fixtures looked new and the flooring was some type of faux stone (very well done). The bed was layered with some of the softest comforters and blankets I’ve slept on in a while. Wireless internet was complimentary but I’m not sure if that was due to my rewards membership or if that service was granted to all guests. It would great if it was a complimentary service for all. Great room, price was in line with the hotel being in a convention area, and the service was great

SUPER SOFT BEDS! These beds are so comfy you’ll feel like you reentered the womb and you’ll never want to leave. Aside from the beds, this hotel is straight across from the River Walk and a good area for conference goers. Good service, nice rooms, and of course a great nights sleep.
One BIG caveat: the bathroom doors aren’t doors! They are a piece of sliding wood that does not create a seal. Unless you are traveling with very close companions you’ll be running across the street to Harrah’s to do your dooty in piece.

We made our reservation last minute for New Years Eve. Omni Riverfront was the best deal we could find for the higher end hotel that we wanted. The room was good; nice big king size bed, spacious bathroom. Location was pretty good; right by the Mississippi River, walking distance to the French quarter.
Our disappointment came from the staff. They seemed to be pretty disorganized and overall incompetent. We ordered breakfast for the morning before a boat tour. Our food never showed up. We called the front desk and were looped in circles. It took us five calls and we never found out what happened. In the end we canceled our order with no apology from the staff.
Needless to say we ran into other hiccups with the staff. Our next trip to NOLA will not be at the Omni Riverfront.

Great place to stay. Within walking distance of Harrah’s casino and a short 1 mile walk to Jackson Square. Rooms were fairly large and very clean. Service was good too. Away from the hustle and bustle of the French Quarter and it overlooked the RIVERFRONT outlet. Valet is $ 34/​per day but its 24 hour service and the car came very quickly. Will stay here again.

Since this hotel is right across the street from the Convention Center, we opted to stay here. When I booked the reservation, I booked it for Wyndham. Well upon arrival, we learned it had changed ownership and is now the Omni.
The bellman, I believe his name was Chris, was the shining star of this overpriced hotel. He was so helpful and attentive. Upon checking in, we learned they just changed ownership that Monday (we arrive on Thursday).
The room itself was nice, as we were in the corner room that overlooks the outlet mall and convention center, so it’s one of their largest rooms. The problem, I soon discovered, is you could hear all the freakin’ traffic down below. So I went downstairs and asked the front desk person if I could have a floor fan delivered to my room. You would have thought I was speaking Chinese or something because this guy gave me the stupidest look, then said they don’t have floor fans. What the hell kind of «upscale» hotel doesn’t have a floor fan … if nothing else, the maintenance people use them to dry wet floors. I have NEVER had a hotel tell me they didn’t have one. He stated I could go buy one … well no shit dude … but I’m fairly sure I won’t be able to pack that in my suitcase on the flight home!
Flash forward a few hours … we asked if they had bottled water in the rooms (even if I had to pay 3 times what it would normally cost to drink it) and the same jerk at the front desk tells me there’s a vending machine on my floor. AGAIN, I ask you, what the HELL kind of upscale hotel doesn’t have bottled water in the room, whether complimentary or for purchase, and instead wants to inconvenience me by making me walk to it, especially if I want some water in the middle of the night???
My other complaint for my room is that the bathroom door isn’t really a door, it’s more like a sliding door you would find in an old barn … not very private (I could look through the crack and see our bed) so if you’re sharing the room with someone other than a spouse, they will hear all of your business while you’re in there and you will feel awkward! LOL.
Overall, this is one of the WORST Omni Hotels I have ever stayed at on my travels and it simply was not worth the more than $ 300/​night that we paid for it!

Conveniently located by the convention center (which is where I need to go). The staff have all been rockstars and super gentlemenly. There was a hiccup with the wifi on the first night where it was down for a couple hours. Luckily I had a hotspot from work, but the ibahn wifi was up and running later that same night.
The beds are the most comfortable beds (and linens) I have ever felt at a hotel. The mattress has good support/​spring, and the pillows are comfy. The shower has good pressure, and had enough hot water in the morning. I know this hotel is nearly fully booked due to the trade show I’m attending, so that was a good plus. There’s central air, which is always preferred, but there was a consistent drone of hums coming from the vents. It got kind of annoying after a while. The sounds in the wall are bit loud, and the door is quite thin (I can hear everything in the hallway).
The fitness center was roomy enough and had pretty updated cardio equipment.
I did order room service for dinner one night. The shrimp and rice was blasted with shrimp. There was so much, I couldn’t eat it all! The balsamic caesar was a nice salad, also. The food bill came to about $ 20, but totaled around $ 40 after the fees, tips, and taxes.
I would definitely stay here again next time I’m in town for work.
