After all the reviews, i decided to try this place. Very disappointing. The ppl writing deez reviews muss not be from da Big Easy, or didn’t grow up in a cooking household. Can’t go wrong wit breakfast, but da lunch is horrible. Don’t know wat da meat is made of. Da gumbo iz garbage. Den, ya gotta watch dem on da register. They charged $ 1.10 for a big shot, which is clearly marked $.99 but then they charge tax again. Prolly won’t be back. There’s better food around our city!

I’m not going to give this place one star because I didn’t eat anything. But here’s my reason for the low rating: We walked in and the place was a disaster. Empty boxes(I think) everywhere. Floor looked filthy. Table setup was disorganized too. Worst of all, we went to the restroom to wash our hands and there was no soap. A restaurant with no soap in the restrooms? So… How do the employees wash their hands? Should be one star, but with all the good reviews about the food I’ll go ahead and give them the benefit of the doubt.

This place is awesome. i got a whole big breakfast for 5.45 and trust me its good. I stumbled upon this place and i am glad i did. I got three meats a biscuit and good portion of grits for 5.45. It reminds me of picadillys and ot looks clean and theres a place to sit. im coming back because its not just good but its in the east!

I occasionally have to come out to the east for work, and always seems to be in the a.m. when they need me, and I am usually starving. Like near death starving if I start my day 5 minutes earlier than usual. So today, im driving around like a perv on the«Chef», not feeling like Mexican or McDonalds. I went to trusty old Unilocal and pointed me in this direction. Great decision! Its a Asian run corner store. The majority is behind bullet proof glass but no worries, its a clean class A establishment. Through the glass you can see a huge steam table with all kinda goodies.(see attached pics) skrimps, sassage, all that good stuffs ;-) I over heard the fella in front of me order the small breakfast. It is a single Styrofoam container filled with grits, butter and cheese upon request) some scrambled eggs and one meat. Big nice biscuit is extra. Me being me, I went for the big breakfast. Big helping of grits, a scoop of eggs, I opted for the links, got 3 of them and it came with a biscuit. $ 5 dayum!(see attached pics for reason for damn) A small minute maid orange juice brought it up to $ 7.50 What a way to start a morning off! I gots me a new breakfast spot on Chef :-)

Food is. Very good and reasonably priced. The only problem is they don’t change the food out fast enough and sometimes goes dry. Staff is very friendly.

Holy Jambalaya! Best I’ve had so far! I’m definitely just learning what is good jambalaya and gumbo and I’ve only had about 6 different types of jambalaya, but this one defiinitely blow the other ones i’ve had away! Loaded with flavor and they LOAD it with jumbo shrimp, sausage, and chicken. I mean they really really do not skimp! Their sausage is also really good! Their gumbo was above average. Their shrimp fried rice dish has 1, 2, 3, 4 pieces of medium shrimp in a small order, but I was ok with it because it was some of the best shrimp fried rice I’ve had. Only has pieces of egg and some shrimp. I’m thinking because it was the end of the day, most of the shrimp in the dish was given out during the earlier busier times of the day(a whole batch is pre-made and sold throughout the day). I mean this fried rice was FLAVORFUL. I’m pretty sure they use sesame oil in their fried rice and jambalaya. I’m definitely going back to try their lo mein, ribs, pork chops, and red beans(which are loaded with more than just beans from the look of it).
