Specialties
Iris serves ecclectic, innovative cuisine and craft cocktails in an elegant bistro setting. The food and staff are unpretentious, and it is a favorite of locals. It is a great spot to have dinner before or after a movie, concert, or play in the French Quarter or as an occassion in itself.
History
Established in 2006.
Iris opened in a cozy cottage Uptown in the Riverbend before moving to a larger space in the Bienville House Hotel in the French Quarter in 2008. New Orleans magazine has recognized Iris as their Best New Restaurant in 2006 and bartender, Alan Walter, as bartender of the year in 2008. Chef Ian Schnoebelen was awarded the Best New Chef honor by Food and Wine magazine in 2007. Iris received 4 beans by Times Picayune food critic, Brett Anderson, and 4 stars by local food critic, Tom Fitzmorris.
