History

Established in 2014.

In and Out Urgent Care is excited to announce its grand opening in New Orleans on April 15, 2014. Our first location will be located in University Village (Former Blockbuster) across the street from Tulane Stadium. Our second location will open in Old Metairie in Fall of 2014.

In and Out Urgent Care has a qualified and friendly team of doctors and nurses to provide New Orleans with the best care possible.

So the good news is, the facility is very clean and there was hardly a wait time. The reception staff was friendly as well.
The bad news, I spent probably 5 minutes all together with the nurse practitioner only to be misdiagnosed. I went there with flu-​like symptoms so naturally they did a flu test. Well, the test came back negative. They then decided to test me for mono. That test came back negative as well. Never once did they try an urine analysis or any other tests besides the two named. Instead of trying to actually figure out what was wrong with me, the nurse practitioner just stated that it’s a general viral infection and you’ll have to wait it out. But get this, usually with viral infections, people would have coughs, sore throats, runny noses, etc. I didn’t have any of that! Because of this misdiagnosis by the nurse practitioner, a day later I ended up in the emergency room with higher fever than I started with and worse body aches! The nurse practitioner seemed like she was just rushing to get me out of there and did not want to take the time to figure out exactly what was wrong. Had I not gone to the emergency room and just listened to the nurse practitioners advice to «wait it out» I could have ended up with kidney failure or worse! I will never visit this urgent care again!

Just got here a few minutes ago. First words out of the receptionist’s mouth: «Have you been here before?» To which I responded, «Good morning, no.» I have been asked for I.d., insurance information, etc, but no one has asked why I am there!
Okay, things have gotten much better with the arrival of a competent, common-​sense doctor. X-​rays taken, diagnosis discussed, and a cortisone shot to the knee … All is well. It took 2 hours from start to finish but probably 4 hours and hundreds of dollars less than an emergency room. I’ll be back after my next inevitable accident.

I was on vacation in New Orleans and unfortunately got sick. I found In and Out Urgent Care through google and was glad I did. I was met by a very friendly staff and saw the doctor very quickly. My vacation was much better than it would have been if not for In and Out Urgent Care. Thanks especially to MJ!

Helpful, clean, & barely a wait!
Nestled in an unassuming strip-​mall, between a dry cleaner and a Subway restaurant, they offer convenient hours, friendly desk staff, and helpful Nurse Practitioners to address your urgent care needs.

Said they would see last patient at 8.30. I’m in the waiting room with my mom, and a woman and her teenage daughter turn up outside. It’s 8.03. They buzz the door and the middle aged male receptionist ignores them. They try the door a few more times – ignored. I’m watching all this and feeling pretty shitty for these people, because they’re obviously stressed and in need of care. I get up, hover by the reception desk – nothing. Eventually I just go over and open the door for these poor people. The receptionist snaps at me «DON’T LET ANYONE ELSE IN» but agrees to see the girl. I tell him that I thought he’d said on the phone that they take their last patient at 8.30. He shrugs and mutters something rude, then repeats that I can’t let anyone else in. Okay, bucko. Learn some customer service.

On the first Saturday of Jazz Fest I needed to see a doctor first thing in the morning. The doctor saw me and answered all my concerns in a hour and I was able to go to the fest by noon. In every way I had a positive experience. Most importantly, the staff worked as a team and I was done within an hour.
The clinic’s website was easy to navigate. I quickly made an appointment. When I arrived the staff expedited my paperwork and the needed testing. The nurse listened to my concerns and took clear notes. The doctor saw me as soon as the test results were available and he had a grasp of my symptoms and my test results. It was a relief that I didn’t have to repeat the discussions I had with the nurse.
The doctor was very attentive and clear. I felt the he listened. He gave me the information and advice I needed.

I went here because I had hurt my foot and I couldn’t get in to see my primary doctor. They were so unconcerned. It was almost as if they didn’t believe I was in pain. They had no answers for what is wrong with my foot, and they gave me a «boot» that is 2 sizes too big. I’ll have to beg my primary doctor to work me in anyway. It was a waste of time and my $ 50 co-​pay. Never again.
UPDATE: Today, I received a bill for almost $ 200 for the «boot» that the nurse assured me would be covered by insurance. Wow. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!

With all of the uptown urgent care centers this place should really get its act together. I was able to go to a competitor less than 1 mile away and was immediately seen.

I wish I could give this business zero stars because I am actually appalled that a business could act so horribly.
My friend has a severe peanut allergy and came in close contact with peanut butter, so we came to this urgent care facility so should could be treated. The woman behind the counter had no idea how to help her, so she asked who I assume to be the RN what to do. My friend and I could see the RN in the back with the feet up eating chips. She cared so little about this potential patient, she would not even come out to speak with us or help us at all. I could hear here yell out to the front desk attendant that she couldn’t do anything.
Obviously this was an emergency situation, and this «urgent» care office was so unwilling to help, we left to go to the emergency room. Even if this office was unable to treat my friend, there is a way to speak to a customer/​patient in need, and these «professionals» had absolutely horrible, irresponsible, and unforgivable behavior. I will NEVER return to this urgent care facility, and I will encourage everyone I know to do the same. Shame on you! You are in the medical field to help and treat people, and I saw none of that at this office. It honestly scares me that this facility is allowed to treat anyone.
