Horse and Buggy Tour

These are a great way to see the city. Usually the tour guides are very entertaining! We loved ours because we got a walking tour of the cemetery. The cemeteries here are just incredible!!! It doesn’t hurt that you are being pulled around by a mule on a beautiful carriage! Great opportunity for getting city pics!!!

No, they are not horses. They are cute mules.
There were 5 of us and it was $ 75 a half hour. Why not. That came out to $ 15 a pop (excluding tip).
The tour was pleasant and yes, very touristy, but why the heck not. You’re on vacation.
Ask to see the Bradangelina’s house and where po boys come from. Interesting if you ask questions.
It is romantic with the history, the Spanish buildings, and an alcohol beverage in your hand.
RECOMMEND if you don’t mind being touristy and shedding out some bucks.

At curbside outside Jackson Square along Decatur St. there’s about a half dozen horse and buggies that offer a 30 minute tour of the local area (French Quarters/​Bourbon St/​French Market) for $ 12/​pers. We decided what the hey let’s get on and enjoy a relaxing horse and buggy ride for about half and hour and relax a bit after lunch.
We sat in the back of a 4 row buggy and had a hard time hearing the driver shout out local sites of interest along the way. I didn’t really care much since I was just wanting to enjoy the ride and relax. If you are very much interested in «learning» (using this very loosely) about the French Quarter you may want to take a seat in the 1^st two rows of the buggy. So for $ 12 plus a couple bucks tip, I got to enjoy a 30 ride around the French Quarter and learned where Nicolas Cage’s $ 5M+ house was located.
