Haase’s Shoe Store & Young Folks Shop has been catering to families of the greater New Orleans area since 1921. Our selection of children’s shoes and fine clothing offers something for every age: from newborn infants to children’s size 16. We carry Keds, Sperry Top Sider, Saucony, Stride Rite, Merrell, Florsheim Kids and Crocs for children. The Young Folks Shop carries classic brands like Glorimont, Florence Eisman, The Bailey Boys, Feltman Brothers and E-​Land. We also have monogramming services, Melissa and Doug toys and a custom line of Haase’s saddles and oxfords for men.

History

Established in 1921.

Started by Borris Haase, with his wife Della, in 1921, Haase’s Shoe Store was originally on Prytania Street. After an expansion to their home on 8119 Oak Street, the house was elevated and Haase’s Shoe Store moved in downstairs. Next door, The Young Folk Shop opened up a few years later to offer fine clothing for children. Now, 93 years later, the store stands strong in its Oak Street location.
