I ALWAYS go to GURU to get my hair highlighted and trimmed. I have been trying to grow my hair out for years and Robye is NOT scissor happy like some hairdressers. I have referred multiple of my friends to him, and every single one of them has been happy with the service they received. I have gotten 2 brazilian blowouts from him and I believe he does a WAY better job than other salons in the area. For some reason they always last longer when he does them (and I have had at least 8 brazilian blowouts in my life). I have no plans of ever going to another hairdresser in New Orleans.

RUINED MY HAIR FOR 4 MONTHS
As if a child took school scissors– cheap DULL scissors– and lopped off all of my bangs– and any semblance of the very SIMPLE A– line cut Robeye was supposed to follow and basically trim.
Everything now in my long hair is uneven– EMBARRASSING– all layers in the front look like a stepladder, and its as if I have an ‘80s bowl cut on the front of my head.
WORST cut in 15 years– no skill or attention used.
it’s been 4 MONTHS and it still has not been able to grow out — it’s that bad!!!

i went to robye recently for a brazilian blowout (smoothing treatment) a few weeks ago. i’ve never been happier with my hair. ever. robye is very warm, hospitable and made me feel like i was getting a very personalized experience. i hesitated to write this review because i want to keep this place all to myself!
