Goodwill Industries of Southeastern La

A pretty decent Goodwill. Smaller than the one on Tulane, but somewhat better organized. Last time I stopped, the books were loosely organized by category, and I even spotted some books by the same author standing right next to each other! The shoes are also sorted by color, which is nifty. And there is a pretty decent selection of purses, which is helpful as I’m gearing up for Nyx.
Clothes are still a bummer to find, since everything is just smashed together. I have encountered a number of people here who push their carts extremely slowly down each aisle, which makes it somewhat difficult to navigate. But whatever — go get your bargains, fellow shoppers!

After seeing some recent excellent scores from a friend on Instagram, I made a note to myself to check this Goodwill out. And I’m glad I did. It’s smaller than the one on Tulane Ave which is good for me so I’m not overwhelmed.
The stock is definitely a bit fancier, consider the neighborhood, and I scored a brand new (with tags) silk skirt for $ 3.50. AND an odd but excellent 2^nd skirt that will be a good addition to my costume box. But yes like all thrift stores, exam the clothes carefully and consider the brand vs the price.
The staff was nice. The store was clean as were the dressing rooms. And it was easy in and out.

Not amazing but going things I needed. Needs a good overhaul. Cloths are tight some damaged. Good prices.

Whatever you do, don’t come here holding a drink of any kind. I went to Starbucks before coming here one day, and upon entering, the manager called me out in front of the whole store to tell me no food and drinks were allowed inside even though my latte had a lid on it. I guess they didn’t want me to ruin any of their fine clothing and furniture so I turned around and walked out.
Despite that embarrassing event and horrendous customer service, I still come here because I find some really good deals, including Steve Madden shoes for $ 12! I also have found some really good costume pieces and accessories so I’ll put up with the sub-​par customer service to get a great deal.
Have kids? Sometimes you can find old school uniforms as well! I actually bought one for myself as an «tacky» Christmas outfit for a little over $ 2!
Not to mention, as an avid reader, the book collection is pretty good too!
Again, don’t expect the employees to bend over backwards for you. After all, it’s a Goodwill. You have to do all the work for yourself.

Another Goodwill which uses the blanket pricing that I hate. Again I say «How do you rotate your stock is you don’t have a ½ price on certain color tag day?»
Having said that, this location does tend to have ‘nicer’ clothes with fancy labels due to the wealth of its neighborhood and therefore its selection of donations. I came looking for something fairly specific and was able to find what I needed, plus a few things that I didn’t. They have a pretty good housewares department and a fairly good book selection, too.

While my mother and I have found a few bargains here, I’m still going to protest about the pricing. Why would you charge $ 4 for a t-​shirt that’s from Walmart or Target that I could have paid the identical price for it brand new and a warranty? You’d move a lot more merchandise if items were priced according to their actual value.

Very typical Goodwill nestled into the center of an active Strip mall.
It’s off the beaten path for me, so I have to intend to visit and make it a destination location. Thus, I might have higher expectations than a thrift on my regular routes. I’ve found enough interesting stuff there that I’m willing to make the trek when I feel «the pull». The had a pair of, what appeared to me (although I’m no expert), authentic Coach sneakers for $ 40, which had I been a 7 ½ I totally would have bought.
Evenso, I give it an «It’s a’ight.»
It’s on the smaller size, but the folks that work there are nice. Usually pretty well organized, but often shopped by families with lots of kids so occasionally the toy and housewares sections are a bit of a mess.

Not the largest selection, but definitely one of the better! Possibly because this is in Lakeview and many wealthy families live in the area. Many of the clothes are new or close to new.

I really liked the book selection in this goodwill. Usually, I spend a substantial amount of time scouring for something good, but leave with nothing. The last time I was here, I left with 3 books, 2 of which were brand new and had been released within the last year. CHA CHING!
The clothing selection was dismal, and I didn’t find anything. Even the «better selections» section, which usually has really nice stuff with tags on it was lacking. I spent a bit of time browsing the dresses, but was bummed and got frustrated at the lack of organization and style.
I will probably stop in here for books, but just cut out after that. I haven’t ever found clothes that I really enjoy or would wear here.
