Description

Specialties

Dynamo is an independent, female-run, female-friendly adult boutique located in downtown New Orleans. We strive to promote happy, healthy sexuality through education, community outreach, and high quality, body-safe products.

We believe that sex is a lot of things – it’s beautiful, it’s natural, it’s silly, and it’s fun. It’s important. What it shouldn’t be is shameful. We welcome everyone, regardless of gender or orientation, and strive to provide a cheerful, comfortable, stress-free environment.

Visit our physical location upstairs at the New Movement Theater — up the front steps, and just down the hall. The shop is located in the fourth room on the right.

Meet the Business Owner

Hope K.

Business Owner

Originally from Kentucky, Hope came to New Orleans in 2009 with a love for culture and costuming and a passion for frank, honest talk about sexuality. She believes that everyone is entitled to accurate information about sex, sex toys that are safe for the body, and a joyful, passionate love life. In service of this, Hope founded Dynamo as an online store and pop-up shop in 2013, later partnering with co-owner and co-educator Nico. In 2014, Dynamo was awarded a grant from St Claude Main Street to open in a small brick and mortar space, eventually transitioning to the current location above the New Movement Theater.

When she’s not talking up vibrators, Hope can be found recreating New Orleans’ past with Louisiana History Alive, hosting the occasional burlesque show, and marching with the Noisician Coalition.
