Columbia Parc

The place looks nice and the location is great but that’s it. There is not enough Mainteance crew so if you have a problem with your apartment you can forget it. If they ever get to you it will be a month from when you requested them. They never work with anyone. I have been here for 3 years and I’m so ready to go.

I am currently a resident of Columbia Parc on Milton St. I have lived in my share of properties. From a few in Atlanta to Baton Rouge, also a few in Florida due to my travel for work. This is by far been my favorite. I have been a resident for about a year. I have loved every bit of my time spent at this beautiful facility. I just remembered the first time I ever pulled up I just fell in love with it. I knew it was my home! Manager Tonya Hall and her staff Crystal Goodle, Anne Marie, Gary Butler & Samantha Witherspoon these lovely ladies has been phenomenal in the front office. They have been so kind courteous and if anything I ever needed they have been there every time. The grounds are well kept from the cleaning crew And maintenance men they do a great job as well. They even have pest control come out about twice a month which is awesome (FREE). Beautiful computer room area where you have access to computers and printers (FREE) as well. Also 24 hour access to their fitness center. Not sure about the pool hours but the pool as well kept clean. Nice area to barbecue and have a party etc. Not to mention this place is also about 1 mile from the Jazz Fest. Its about 10 – 13 minutes from Bourbon St. I travel often so during parades etc. this is an easy place to maneuver in and out during those tough traffic times. I still can’t believe how quiet it is here. Wanted to share my experiences & what I’ve been through living at Columbia Parc.

I have been a resident of Columbia Parc going on three years now. I have never, ever had any problem, or complaint with Tonya Hall or anyone of the office staff. Every maintenance call has always been answered immediately. Ms. Hall and her staff have been very helpful in any given situation.
Yes, there is a problem with the gates at times. You will find this problem and someone will complain in any apartment community. Not just Columbia Parc.
Do I feel safe here, yes indeed I do. Security drives by at least twice during a one hour period.
My granddaughter visited me several times this past summer. I took her swimming every day she was here. The pool was always clean, and was open daily. The only time I found it closed was after hours.
As far as trash pile up, yes there is plenty of trash in a large community where one gated area is for trash. Trash is picked up daily. Sometimes twice a day. Even on Sunday’s.
The grounds and landscaping always look pretty. Exercise room has the latest equipment, and is always clean. Internet Café is wonderful.
Would I recommend Columbia Parc? You bet you…

I enjoyed living here. The area is nice, the grounds are kept fairly clean (with the exception of what you see in one of the previous post’s pictures), its a central location, etc etc. However and unfortunately, having to deal with Ms. Hall made it very difficult for me to decide to renew my lease, so I decided to move.

I really wished I had waited longer to do a review on this place. At first I was very happy. The units are very nice. So I left a good review. You won’t get an apartment this nice for the price in the New Orleans area. But after you’ve been here for awhile the problems start to build.
The security gates open and close at random is a new issue. From what I’ve gathered they were open the past couple of years but now they have decided to close them. And there’s plenty of parking. Before they closed the gates you could find parking at any hour. Interesting tidbit here: when they first started closing the gates the NOPD officer on duty couldn’t even get in. What a way to promote safety! They have not budged on the one car per unit policy which means if you have a 3 bedroom apartment with 3 adults on the lease (and all 3 paid the deposit) only one of the cars can park in the parking lot. The others must fend from themselves.
And there’s no surprise that there’s already a negative review about the property manager Tonya Hall, who is about as pleasant a getting root canal sans pain medication. She is spearheading this new housekeeping enforcement plan which is essentially her and her lackeys charging you for damages in the apartment whether you did the damage or not. It’s also the tool she uses to make sure the apartment is neat and orderly not unlike what parents enforce with their teenage kids or drill sergeants with the military. After speaking with some of my neighbors they told me they had to deal with threats of eviction. I can understand checking to ensure tenants aren’t inviting roaches to the complex but to threaten tenants with eviction because of they chose to organize their video games, clothes and the like is excessive. Add that to the fact that the office is only open from 10am to 530pm only on the weekdays it becomes quit a task to get any help from the office when issues pop up. Not what I signed up for. I wouldn’t recommend Columbia Parc to anyone I remotely cared about. The nice apartment isn’t worth the headaches.
Check out the reviews that aren’t recommended (They should be because they sound legit). Clearly this isn’t an isolated incident. How many residents will be ran off due to Tonya Hall?
