Central Parking System

Central Parking is the most corrupt parking service in New Orleans and should without doubt not be allowed to operate in the city. After running 15 minutes past my allocated time my car was booted rather than simply giving me a parking ticket for an expired ticket. I waited 40 minutes for their incompetent employees to come and in seconds take off the boots at the cost of $ 110.00. This level of corruption is unusual even in New Orleans and is intolerable. No city should put up with this!!!

If I could give this company 0 stars I would. They gave me an unwarrented ticket and then would not respond to my disputes. I tried calling to get the ticket voided, as I had paid to park, but the phone numbers listed were just a deadend maze. I have never worked with a company so abstruce, unprofessional and frustrating. I wish I could find a way to bring down these monsters, but unfortunately it looks like all that is currently within my power is to write a Unilocal review.

READ THE FILTERED REVIEWS!!! This company is hiding the fact that they scam innocent people into taking tickets with time left on them from a «nice woman» who approaches you in the parking lot to give you her ticket. This woman is PAID by central Parking to entrap you into breaking their non-​transferable rule that you will not notice on the ticket until they put boots on your car and demand $ 107 – 135. They are doing this all over the downtown/​quarter area, most disgustingly at the Emergency Room parking lot behind the LSU hospital. DON’T FALL FOR IT! CALL THE POLICE!

Just to reiterate, YOU SUCK… YOU SUCK… YOU SUCK.

Rude employees! The lot was crowded and we were waiting for someone to load up and back out. This was taking some time understandably because it was several people including small children. We did not mind, but the employee takes it upon herself to come out of her booth and tell us we could not hold up the lane and to move on. We all looked at her like she was crazy and she told us we had to move. Who cares if we were waiting for a car to leave, that’s what people do when you are looking for parking. I could see if we were just sitting there hoping for someone to leave, but they were actually were getting in the car. I e-​mailed the company about this and never heard back, not even an acknowledgment of my e-​mail. I now prefer to park in the mall and get my parking validated.

This place is a complete rip-​off! Beware of these scam artists. We printed a coupon from the web for $ 23 per night (usually it’s $ 10/​night, but they considered the weekend to be a «special event weekend» so it was more) That was fine since we knew in advance, though it was a few weekends before Mardi Gras, so not sure what the special event was. Our computer printout said to enter this specific coupon code at the lot to get this rate. My husband entered our credit card # into the machine at the lot, and it never cued him to enter the code. It immediately charged $ 60/​night onto our credit card. The posted «special event» rate on the lot was about $ 30 or so, which made even less sense that we were charged $ 60/​night. Of course we called the company and left messages and surprise, surprise nobody called us back. We finally had our credit card company delete the charges. But I wonder how many tourists are ripped off by this scam and don’t bother to pursue getting their money back. Central Parking System owns many parking lots in New Orleans and are the definition of a tourist rip-​off company!

I was scammed by this company. As I was trying to figure out how to work the machine to pay for my spot (which was in fact broken) a woman gave me her ticket for a spot in the lot that still had time left on it and I mistakenly parked in the spot. I came back an hour later and there are two boots on my car. An attendant quickly ran over to me and demands $ 125 to remove the boots. The ticket the woman gave me was «Not transferrable». I should have called the police but did not have time to deal with such nonsense, paid the fee and left. If you’re going to scam me, at least don’t make it so obvious…
I have lived in this city for over 4 years and this is the shadiest experiences I’ve ever had.
