Animal Clinic at New Lenox

The entire staff is very personable and freindly. Dr. Ubatuba even sat on the floor with my Golden Retreiver because she was very skiddish at first, but she warmed up to the Dr and the staff right away. Now she isn’t terrified to come. They explained everything in detail and explained it in terms I would understand.

I will not take my dog anywhere else! The staff here is wonderful… everyone from the office staff, to the assistants, to Dr. Ubatuba! The grooming service is great. fair prices & she always does a great job! I never have to wait long to get my dog in when we have an issue. Most importantly, Dr. Ubatuba is amazing! She’s patient and she truly cares about our pet. I never feel rushed, she remembers my dog and his nature, she always makes sure all of our questions are answered. I always leave there with a good understanding of what my dog is dealing with, and what my options are. My dog is elderly, has severe allergies, gets repeat ear & skin infections, and we have had to visit the vet more than I’d like to in the last two years, but I cannot complain because he receives excellent care here. The prices are more than fair and the staff makes sure we know what our cost will be. Highly recommend!

I called in an emergency situation days after moving into the new lenox area. The offices were closing in 10 minutes but the staff agreed to stay open until I got there with my dog. My dog had been bitten by another dog and his skin had been pulled back so far his scalp was showing. The vet was not able to close the wound due to the severity however they referred me to the nearest emergency vet in Mokena. Their prices were very reasonable, their staff was polite and most of all I felt like they actually cared by agreeing to at least let me come in when they were closing.

I took my 4 month old puppy here for shots and an exam. The doctor I had was annoying as hell. First he told me that my dog (a rescue from PAWS) needed to have two of his baby teeth pulled — I sensed BS and said no. Later we took him back for something that looked like bites on his skin. The doctor prescribed a medicine that would work for 85% or so of this ailment, and THEN tried to talk me into doing a culture for $ 75 to determine if the ailment would respond to the medication he just prescribed! I was, like, ummm, why don’t we just wait 5 days and see how he responds to the medication you just prescribed? The medication worked just fine. My dog is now 3 years old and has absolutely no problems with his teeth. I haven’t been back here since.

The staff here is so nice and accommodating. The doctor takes the time to answer any and all questions. My dog has allergies and I found the doctor to be very knowledgeable. Most importantly, my dog has stopped scratching as frequently.

During the past summer, my dog was experiencing terrible itching and scratching, sometimes resulting in leaving open wounds because the irritation would get so intense. My prior vet (I’d just adopted Romeo a few months prior to this) had instantly prescribed prednisone… a steroid that when used too often, can result in liver and heart damage. That didn’t work and so, I began googling allergy specialists in my area. That’s how I came to find Dr. Teykl.
I made an appointment and saw Dr. Teykl the very next day. He did an extensive hands-​on search while we were there and took a scratch test to see if any mites had been the cause of Romeo’s troubles. (Why didn’t my first vet do this? It took five minutes!) After that, he went on to ask what seemed to be a million questions about my pup’s lifestyle and history, yet never once did he seem to be in a hurry to move on to the next patient. Our visit was a comfortable one.
At the end of our appointment, the Dr. thought it may be any one of three things causing Romeo’s discomfort, but recommended we try the least radical approach to solving the problem. Simply changing his diet. He could have recommended lots of prescriptions and extensive tests, but he didn’t. His vast knowledge of allergies (that’s his specialty) not only offered us a less expensive route, but was the right diagnosis, too. Romeo’s scratching lessened with each passing day.
The whole office visit cost me $ 35. He did ask that I come back for a return visit to check on Romeo’s skin, but I was more than happy to oblige. Between the two appointments, I must have received four or five different calls from the Dr. himself, just checking on my guy’s progress. During these calls, I’d sometime ask him advice on other issues, not necessarily related to this allergy issue. He answered each question thoroughly and in a context that I could understand. Seems customer service is his specialty, too!
I’ve been living in the area now for about 5 years or so and never really felt content with the different veterinary services I’d experienced. In retrospect, I guess I’ve constantly been looking for an animal hospital or clinic that I felt confident in and comfortable with in taking my dog for good, quality medical advice in a surrounding that would be both comfortable and pleasant for me and my pups…
I think my search has just ended.
