UFC GYM Long Island

So far this is the best gym decision I’ve made. I was looking for a gym that was close by and nothing like the LA fitness I’ve experienced and my friend recommended UFC and since then I’ve been a happy customer! Staff are friendly, gym is clean, and a very warm environment! They have all the up to date equipment and a lot of classes! The only thing they are missing is a pool lol but besides that it’s been a pleasant experience! I would recommend this gym!!! Jordan is a manger at UFC and was the one who signed me up.

Be careful when you put your belongings in the locker. When someone steals your belongings from your locker they happen to say our video is not working.

The worst customer service I’ve ever experienced. A young guy at 10 pm on Tuesday 5÷24÷16 picks up my call and refuses to answer my questions when I asked him the price for new customers. I’ve tried trial version with UFC twice but was never convinced due to distance between home and the gym. Now I live closer and am ready to join, the guy calls me and threatens me that the gym will kick me out if I comeback because I had tried the trial twice. Whoever this guy is should be fired. It’s going to cost UFC some serious damage to its image. I have a team of 3 guys who are going to join LA FITNESS instead. Save your energy and stay away from this gym. At least this particular UFC location.

It started so good. New and fresh, solid trainers… loved the place. All the original trainers are long gone and the equipment is getting worn out. But my biggest issue is that its getting WAY overcrowded. No parking, and always waiting to use equipment. Really kills my motivation to hit the gym, always waiting, lines, waiting. As soon as my contract is over I’m going somewhere else.

I wanted to share my initial thoughts and experiences with Jordan Stein, General Manger and Rafael Sanchez, Operation Manager.
I became a member at UFC GYM, New Hyde Park, NY, in the January 2015. I was thinking about the fact if i will have even the time for the gym and can I afford it. Because of being both a full-​time graduate student and a full time employee. Maybe, joining the gym at this time was not right for me. After, speaking to Jordan, he convinced me on become a member at UFC. This was the best decision, I have ever made. He showed me what UFC is all about and how everyone is team here. UFC (New Hyde Park, NY) is not just any gym, it thee gym! Jordan approach was very professional, very knowledgeable about the gym, and which trainer will help me to achieve my goal. Jordan presents UFC gym as the greatest gym to go to; if you are very serious about your workout. I lost a considerable amount of weight and have since toned up my whole body. I haven’t felt this good and healthy in my entire life. It is a commitment; you have to put in the effort and time. But it is definitely worth it in the end. Thanks Jordan for convincing me to join the UFC team. I feel stronger and healthier with every passing day! I very much enjoyed the journey I have experienced at UFC.
Rafael Sanchez: Operation Manager at UFC gym in New Hyde Park, NY.
Rafael is an amazing representative of Gym. Rafael goes above and beyond to correct issues with any payments or incorrect computer error charges on your account. Rafael will always answer his cell phone day or night, if you see something on your credit card charges from UFC. Rafael will always put a smile on your face and try to fix it. He will make sure the clients are happy with the membership services at the gym. He is very professional and knowledge about UFC policy, that what all gym should have someone like Rafael and Jordan to make sure members like me are happy with the services.

I have been a member of UFC since it opened and am extremely happy with this gym and especially the personal training staff. Yannick is an incredibly dedicated personal trainer at UFC who has worked with my 15 year old son for the last few months. We are so impressed by his dedication, patience, expertise and professionalism in having our son attain his fitness goals. I highly recommend This gym and especially Yannick. Thank you for your gift of motivation and inspiration and you are a great role model as a trainer for our son. It may seem pricey for personal training, but you get what you pay for and it’s certainly worth it at UFC NHP.

Rafael, why won’t your refund my husband’s frozen membership money? I have my yellow copy of the freeze. I sent you three emails with an image of the «lost» paperwork, and got no response.
Trying to get my money back has taken 9 months. I cannot believe the undue stress you would cause a sick person!

Just wanted to send you a note about your amazing staff.

My son had his 11^th Bday there today. Dana was amazing from the beginning, a true assistant in executing all of our needs/​wants for this shindig. She was professional the whole way through, offered wonderful ideas, and to top it all off, she was a pleasure to work with, and ALL of my kids loved her…

We already know Coach Yannick and Coach Brian as we train with them and love them, but what they did (with Coach Vinny’s help today) with these kids today was well beyond our expectations. They knocked it out of the park… They had the right mix of fun and sports training and these boys loved every minute of it. I had every parent tell me how amazing the guys were and how they organized and controlled the kids, and overall knew what these football kids needed. Coach Rich was the bonus! He did an amazing DUT session for the parents, that I know will get my friends in for more– the parents equally had a blast (and were impressed by UFC and it’s offerings)…the expertise and professionalism of all of these guys was bar none.

Overall, a success all around. Our other 2 boys want their bday parties there now too with Yannick and Brian… of course! :)

I am so grateful to be a member of this gym, and to be surrounded by these Coaches who encourage and support my whole family to keep strong and healthy. You are very lucky to have such a well rounded team!!!

I am very happy with my membership at UFC. My home gym is UFC FiDi but I do visit this location on the weekends. This is the nicest gym on long island. The staff is friendly and the facility is new, clean, and organized. I love the fact that it is 24 hours, there is a steam room, and there are great fitness classes. I notice that a lot of the people that come here are motivated in accomplishing their fitness goals (At other gyms you see people standing around, talking, texting. but not here) which pushes me to do more.
There is a trainer here that I would recommend to anyone interested in personal training sessions. His name is Wes and I trained with him for over a year at XSport fitness. He just recently joined the PT Team here. I lost 5% body fat during my time with him. That is a big accomplishment for me and I couldn’t have done it without him. They do offer a free PT session and I recommend trying a sessions with him..

Great atmosphere! The trainers are motivating and highly professional. Most of the gym’s trainers train each other and have a strong team bond. The gym has something for everyone, from the body builder, to the martial artist, to the cross fitters, and for the working people who want to get and stay in shape. The restroom could use a little updating and expansion, but otherwise I highly recommend this gym!

I canceled one month after I signed up. No one cleans up there. Everything is piled everywhere. The air stinks.

I would have given this gym 4 stars, except their parking and locker situation has gotten out of control. There are no parking spots and no lockers, and they continue to aggressively look for new members. I’ve sent them an email about this, and got no reply. They also constantly have «promotions», but if you are constantly offering zero inscription fee, it isn’t a promotion, its normal. I hope they can get their act together, and I’ll upgrade my rating. Otherwise, I may change gyms to another that opened up down the street.

Pros: great cardio equipment, variety of weightlifting equipment, food and shake store, 24 hours, large locker room, sauna, weight scales, lots of tvs.
Cons: weightlifting area is small for the amount of gym goers that attend daily it’s hard to get in your workout when it’s so crowded which prevents me from coming most weekdays. The parking lot on these days is a nightmare, but I discovered street parking is free after 6pm. Shake and food handlers are not always sanitary and always really slow. I never order sandwiches because the food area always looks dirty.
*I’d like to shout out Isaac. I paid for 4 personal training sessions at $ 85. Pretty pricey for me at least, on the cheaper side for UFC. I trained with Samantha for the first 2, but she left UFC. I took a month off and Isaac reached out to me so I could complete the last 2 sessions. I really appreciate that he noticed I had two sessions left even after I hadn’t been to the gym in over a month. I learn a lot through his sessions.

Three friends and I went to this gym to sign up for a free trial. Upon entering the gym together, they immediately split us up to talk to different sales guy. My guy was decent and I signed up for a trial. My other friends went to a different sales guy who denied them a trial membership that they clearly advertise on their website and in print. So they ask for a group discount because we’re all signing up together…
This is the part that sounds unbelievable! The guy goes «I don’t care if you suck his d**k or my d**k, you’re not getting a discount!» At that point we were furious and walked out of the gym. I tried calling my sales guy several times that day to cancel the trial because I wouldn’t be going to that gym anymore but he wouldn’t pick up. So I called my credit card company to dispute the charges and they keep hanging up on them too when they tried to contact the UFC gym to discuss my dispute.
A fair warning to the attitude and the type of people who work here and good luck canceling your memberships for those who currently attend the gym.

PROS: 24 hours, Big Facility with nearly every fitness program you could ever want to take, child care, café and great showers and sauna.
CONS: ATTITUDE: During my time here I experienced some of the most, unsophisticated, unprofessional staff I have ever seen at a gym concept, anywhere. With the exception of maybe one or two, every employee who works here handles their job like a entitled 16 year old who’s parents have revoked their car privileges.
High drama amongst the trainers. GOSSIP which created a heavy toxic vibe. I would hear trainers make fun of clients behind their backs to me. I’ve actually seen trainers Eye roll each other literally behind a clients back while the person was training with them then cheer the person on not a second later.
Manager CHRISTINE: every interaction I had with her was intense and uncomfortable. She constantly looked like she was overwhelmed and annoyed with every interaction, customer and employee alike. She was constantly spinning around the place in a tizzy and always appeared to be slightly drunk or recovering from the night before.
MIXED RATES: that change depend on the sales person you talk to. I had chats with members who were paying $ 20 more than I was a month and they signed up the same day.
OVERALL: If you are already in great shape and need a place to work out that had great equipment then this might be the pace for you but if you have any emotional intelligence at all you will probably pick up on the very toxic vibe amongst the staff and trainers and move on.
Because of the toxicity of the staff I cannot recommend this gym as a place to get stronger. A gym should have employees who lift you up not tear you and each other down. You are better off finding a private trainer elsewhere.

Love this gym and the atmosphere the gym provides
everyone here is trying to improve themselves. Whether strength. Technique. Speed. Or aesthetics.
There is a huge variety of different coaches and personal trainers who can help you in anything you may need.

The only problem I have is that it becomes way too overcrowded right after work hours and the parking lot is too tiny
If you can get around that small time frame where it is overcrowded this is the best gym

Place is amazing, when I tell you they have great deals trust me they really have amazing «deals» you just need to have negotiable skills on point and you’ll what you deserve trust me. The staff is friendly and friendly I mean text friendly which is awesome. If you recommend someone you’ll get 2 dollars off your Gym membership cost a month, but once again you need to ask.
The gym is very clean, I feel like you can eat off the floor lol but in reality it is, you get a huge towel in the entrance, please don’t leave the towels in the front usually drop it off the locker room. Just be aware that it’s not a garbage can.
When you purchase into the parking lot but keep in mind! It’s because there’s always classes being held so when you go inside don’t freak out thinking everyone is hiding or everyone from Applebee’s is parking over here.
There’s enough equipment for everyone.
Classes I haven’t taken them but they look awesome.
They have an actual UFC cage in there so basically whenever there’s no classes you can actually use them or even any other rooms available then you can use them which us awesome just need to find out their schedule.

Regret joining this place and regret recommending it to friends because they too have had horrible experiences. The staff is not properly trained and numerous times i have been told the wrong information and when i brought it up to the manager he did not seem to care and told me i had to deal with it and its not his fault i was misled. My friends and i also have been double charged numerous times and the manager did nothing about it.
Parking is also horrendous here and you literally have to circle the parking lot for 10 mins to find a spot.
However i must say the MMA coaches here are great and top notch at what they do. But the management and customer service being very poor overshadows it

I have contacted UFC numerous times to resolve monthly double charge issues but even though customer service is always at the front desk they choose not to answer the phone calls about these issues… They have a great parking from the days of Wednesday to Sunday… Monday/​Tuesday is completely atrocious… It would be great if they implemented cash monthly payments instead of using CC…
