History
Established in 2011.
We make MATH make SENSE to kids!
Our approach is to use sophisticated techniques to determine — with great accuracy — what a student knows and does not know. Next, we tailor-make a personalized and prescriptive learning program. Each student follows the program with the help of specially trained Mathnasium math tutors who provide instruction — and lots of warm encouragement. For proof of progress, we rely on the student’s report card, independent tests, and parent testimony, to measure the speed and magnitude of improvement in math skills, numerical thinking, and attitude.™
Meet the Business Owner
Peter A.
Business Owner
Peter Abrams has been a Queens resident for his entire life, he grew up in Flushing, graduated from Queens College with a B.A. in Accounting, moved to Bayside and he continues to reside there. Peter began a distinguished accounting and auditing career at several large firms; then in 1999, he was selected for the position of CFO at Devon Architects, where he handled all aspects of the operation.
Peter has always had a keen interest in math and an appreciation of the way mathematics affected everyday life. He developed many different methods to figure out how to answer problems using logic and problem solving skills. Though successful in his accounting and managerial positions, he felt that he had a different calling; one that included his interests, passion and talents. He found Mathnasium and quickly realized that he could have a positive impact on many children by introducing them to the Mathnasium Method and they too would become interested and passionate about mathematics.
