Engine works is no longer convenient.
I don’t work down the the block anymore.
I now have to drive 10 miles.
If I couldn’t drive, I’d get the car towed there.
It’s still the most reliable honest auto repair shop I’ve found. The quality of their work far exceeds the prices they charge
I will continue to bring my car as well as my family’s cars to Nick At Engine Works

The Engine Works saved the day, again.
So thankfully this time it’s my son’s car on the fritz this week and not my own. I know that sounds cruel but I’ve already spent enough maintaining my own car lately.
My son comes to me on a Saturday morning as he’s rushing out the door for work to tell me my car won’t run. So I ask what’s going on with it he told me it keeps stalling. Apparently the night before it stalled on him in the middle of the parkway, a very scary situation. I start the car for myself and see the car just won’t idle. Every time you take your foot of the gas it quits.
He’s a college kid who depends heavily on his car to get back and forth from school and work. I knew we needed to get this looked at quickly or he was going to be without a car. Since I faced a similar situation a few weeks ago with my own car I immediately thought of calling The Engine Works. I love the fact that they have Saturday hours! I called and spoke to Nick, the owner. He said bring the car over and he would have one of his guys take a look at it. So I carefully rode the gas and brake to get my sons car there without stalling. We got it there late on Saturday so he said he couldn’t promise it would be done that day but they were open on Monday (President’s Day) and they should have it done then.
On Monday I got a call from Ski, one of the employees at The Engine Works, by 2:00pm the car was fixed. Ski took the time to explain to me what was going on with the car and what they did to fix it. I won’t bore you with the details of the repair but I have to say the diagnosis was spot on.
Since I had Ski on the phone I also asked him to look at another problem my son has been having with the car. His check engine light and ABS light have been on for YEARS. Yes, years. We’ve taken the car to three other service stations for the same problem. Each one said there’s a problem with the cars computer and one of the sensors at a wheel. We can’t fix it, only a dealer can fix it. Very frustrating. So, about and hour and half later Ski tells me that problem is fixed too. I had to see this for myself! Sure enough, the years old problem is gone. Ski told me the sensor was fine, the computer was fine, but when he traced one on the wires there was a break in the wire. Fixed the wire, problem solved, and at a reasonable price too.
I now can rest a little easier knowing the ABS system in my sons car is back in operation.
Thank you again Nick, Ski, and all the rest of the team at The Engine Works. These are my go to guys to get the job done!
