History

Established in 1978.

In December 1978, David M. Mancuso Antiques opened its doors in the historic former Solebury Baptist Church on Route 202 in New Hope, Bucks County, Pennsylvania.

David’s interest in antiques started at an early age when as a teenager, he started frequenting antiques shops. Antiques soon became his passion and it wasn’t long until he started buying and selling throughout the northeast.

«I used to go to the Brimfield, Massachusetts markets and camp out in the back of my van with my Golden Retriever, Rusty,» recalled Mancuso. «I opened my first shop in the mid-seventies in Red Bank, New Jersey.»

At age 21, the young entrepreneur discovered Bucks County and its vibrant antiques and art scene. One year later, he opened his shop at the Old Church.

In the early 1980s, Mancuso began exhibiting at major antiques shows. By the mid 1980s, the business started to cultivate many advantageous relationships with collectors, decorators and dealers; many of who still frequent the shop today.
