Drink Drugged = Bad time I brought my friend here last night because he usually goes and he wanted me to join. He gets out of work and we hit the club, he gets one drink at the bar. Within 20 minutes, he could barely stand and got sick well until today. Didn’t drink before and he remembers the bartender not liking him previous times because he talked to his ex-boyfriend. Ridiculous. I called the manager /bar today and got no apology or sorry. I’ve been here before and it is a fun place. But be careful, it could really happen to anyone.

First time visiting this club, visiting A CLUB in New Haven period. Pulse was everything I needed, and really surpassed our expectations. Even though it says 956 Chapel Street — the club is ACTUALLY on Temple Street. If you’re getting off the highway and/or train, you need to go to Omni Hotel and go directly across the street into the Courtyard and the club is on your left. It’s really difficult to find, there are no signs for«PULSE» anywhere. Park at the Chapel Street Garage(on Crown Street), it was $ 8 all night. We went on a Saturday night, «Alternative Night» aka Gay/Lesbian. Adorable shot boys, cute bartenders, and great drinks. It was very mixed — gays, lesbians, queers, & straight people and the vibe was awesome. No drama, no bs. There’s 3 floors, the first floor is typical club scene(dance music, lots of boys lol). Upstairs is the loft/lounge area, with access to the balcony where people can smoke at. Downstairs in the basement was all reggae, soca & reggaeton. There’s bars on every floor. The bathrooms are on the lower and decently maintained(typical club expectations). The drinks were good tasting & decent priced. It was worth the $ 8 cover charge, and honestly it’s the best we’ve got here in CT. Had a great time, and definitely plan on frequenting the club. —- Follow-up: Went to Pulse the next weekend and it was kind of dead for the first 30minutes, but around midnight there was a line to get in. However, because of that lull we felt that they increased the drinks at the bar — a drink that cost us $ 6 last week, cost us $ 10 this week. I don’t understand that logic, if your drinks stay lower people will buy more drinks. So instead of buying 2 – 3 drinks, we only got 1 drink each. Also there were a lot more bouncers this time, who kept flashing their light on people randomly & messing up the vibe. *Sigh* Still, it’s the best we’ve got here in CT.

Shot boys + bumpin basement = a good time. I visited my charming hunk that lives in Connecticut, I have a need to dance regularly, and this is what the state has to offer for gay dance clubs. The owner, Jason, is incredible and definitely the life of his own party. The basement is where it gets naughty with reggaeton. And there are beautiful boys that was around in their underwear serving shots. Yes, definitely worth the $ 5 cover, especially if you need a gay club, drinks, or dance-your-pants-off music.
