Let me preface this by saying that I was visiting from New York City. THESEPRICESAREUNBEATABLE. I honestly can’t believe that for less than $ 25, my boyfriend and I shared 3 full brunch entrees, a juice, and a cappuccino. The breakfast potatoes are so yummy and the pancakes are so fluffy! Also, the toast comes buttered! Oh so delicious. This is such a solid diner, and I like that I’m supporting what seems to be an old family-run establishment. Cash only!

Love the food here and service is always quick! Prices are right. Go for the ham and cheese omelettes, I get it every time! Cash only but they do have an ATM inside if needed. Everyone I go in there are always students from Yale there and people from the community. Will continue to go here!

Nice brunch place when you’re craving the standard breakfast items. Everything is priced super responsibly, just make sure you bring cash. They also don’t do substitutions.

Excellent diner – a true diner. Friendly fast staff. Excellent omelettes. I had the Western omelette with cheese, sides of home fries and corned beef hash. Everything was flavorful and satisfying. Corned beef hash was great quality. I went with a group of 5 – one in our group got eggs over easy that were perfectly cooked. Someone else got the short stack – those were so good that we ordered another for the table. The consensus was that these were the best pancakes we had ever had – they needed no butter or syrup, but were outstanding with both. The only reason I gave 4 out of 5 stars is that the restaurant takes cash only(there is an atm on site). I will be returning and recommending.

It was clean and the food was good not great. Ive never understood breakfast places that dont serve grits! The service wasn’t good. Don’t expect a warm welcome or big smiles because you won’t find that here.

Loved the pancakes came back for more and they’re closed for vacation! Ugh. Anyway. Definitely a quaint no frills spot that Yalies will be crowded into soon enough.

So, I get that you’re not paying for the experience here, but honestly, I don’t know why you would pay to eat here at all. Not only is the service slow and unfriendly, everything is sticky and dirty. The place is touted for their low prices making it worth putting up with, but after two omelettes and two coffees and a decent tip, my bf and I were still paying $ 25 — would rather go to a place with atmosphere and friendly service. As for the food, it was as average as average goes. No frills, no flavor.

Perfect place to sit at the bar and grab a quick, cheap breakfast. No frills, but the food comes up fast and is well prepared. Note: They don’t take credit cards, but you’ll probably be able to settle your check with some of the change lying around in the center console of your car.

Great place for brunch. The menu is very affordable, and the orange juice isn’t over priced like most places. French toast and home fries are definitely a great choice. The service could be much better. We spent more time waiting for our check than we did eating.

This is a busy diner on Sunday mornings. Don’t expect to be greeted at the door. I sat at the counter and waited several minutes to be acknowledged. I didn’t take it personal. As I ate, I noticed it happened to everyone — including an apparent regular diner there, who later started chatting with the cook. The food is basic American breakfast staple. It’s a very fair price(eggs, 2 French toast slices, 3 slices of bacon for $ 7.50). Your order comes out fairly quick and piping hot. It’s not rocket science, it’s a diner. For those reviewers rating it lower and complaining about service — you get what you pay for. For $ 7.50 and only 2 servers that are running around, I know how to speak up if I need more water and they haven’t come by in a few minutes. What I did notice is that they never failed to say«thank you» to every single customer as they left — sometimes twice.

Got the French toast with scrambled eggs and bacon to go. Order was fast and was a great quick breakfast to start off the day. Also great that it was right next door to the Marriott we were staying at and their breakfast hours were later and the food was a little cheaper.

Whet here for the first time today and was really impressed. Casual diner atmosphere with basic diner fair. Pancakes were super light and fluffy. Very reasonably priced. You won’t find some of the creative dishes that brunchers are looking for, but if you want quality diner food this was fantastic.

I came to visit my friends who are now living in New Haven and one of them insisted we come to this restaurant. It turns out my friend doesn’t have great taste in food. The service was mediocre throughout and sub par at the end. They stopped checking in with us altogether(stopped with drink refills, no check, no contact at all). It’s not like we’d been there for an incredible amount of time either by anyone’s standards. Eventually I just walked over to the cash register and told them what I ordered and insisted on paying that way since they didn’t provide a check. The food wasn’t anything special. Diners should be fast cheap food. The price was okay, but it took a long time to get the food to us(and it’s not like the restaurant was packed or anything like that). My Denver Omelette was dry and if your niche is breakfast you should be able to prepare eggs correctly. The restaurant was also very drafty. Side note, if you need to use the bathroom bring a coat because it wasn’t heated. I’d recommend not using it though.

Classic and consistent. No frills and quick service. My friend had just picked me up from the Amtrak and I was hangry. She suggested we stop by a diner near her place and it did not disappoint. I had the pleasure of meeting Patricia herself as she served me up an omelette with some home fries. Like everyone notes, the prices are very reasonable. My egg white(+$ 2) omelet with slice of toast and home fries was ~$ 9– probably the most expensive thing on the whole menu. The diner has a very mom and pop slow paced feel to it. Also surprisingly empty– then again it was Tuesday morning during prime class time. My only gripe about the place is that I wish the portion sizes were a little bigger. Also, coffee is now $ 1.50.

I love Patricia’s. In New Haven, this is arguably one of the best, if not the best, place to get(a classic American) breakfast. I have been to Patricia’s many times, and my food has been consistently tasty. Next time I am in New Haven, I will most likely be stopping here again. The atmosphere at Patricia’s is a lovely mom-and-pop diner feel. This is especially comforting for me, as I grew up in Maine, where this type of small diner is quite common. The service is not bad, but not spectacular either. The food is quite affordable(although you’ll need to bring cash. They don’t take plastic) and the portion sizes are perfect(for me, at least). The menu is quite simple, which adds to the mom-and-pop feel of the restaurant. You can order all the staples of American breakfast from omelets to pancakes. Everything I’ve tasted has been perfectly cooked. I try to limit the amount of dairy I eat(which, I will say is probably difficult at Patricia’s), so I usually go for a garden omelet. I’m never let down. Their omelets are solid. Deliciously cooked. My personal recommendation. Basically, Patricia’s is an excellent breakfast joint in New Haven worth visiting.

Didn’t care much for the restaurant. The food was very mediocre and the waitress had an attitude after I told her that’s not what I had ordered. She didn’t apologize or tried to replace it. I’m not going back there again.

I was a regular at Patricia’s when I lived in New Haven about two years ago. I moved back recently, and getting Patricia’s back was one of the best parts of returning. The food is cheap, comes out quick, and is absolutely fantastic.(I actually disliked pancakes up until I had Patricia’s. True story.) It’s cash-only, but they do have an ATM on site. On the weekends it can get pretty crowded after 12pm and there may be a short wait, but it’s worth it. If you’re looking for a cheap and tasty breakfast, this is your place. Patricia’s is easily one of the best breakfast joints in New Haven.(And seriously, don’t sleep on the pancakes. They are phenomenal.)

No fuss, reliable place for breakfast. And for such a reasonable price. I’m always amazed by the waitress’ ability to remember EVERYONE’s orders, without writing it down. :P — Cash only!

Suuuuch a solid place for breakfast in New Haven. This is a true family restaurant… you can tell everyone here loves doing what they do, and it also shows in their food. I had a simple egg sandwich, but their combination of sausage, American cheese, and perfectly cooked eggs on toast went way above and beyond. They also have a great selection of omelets that come with some of the greatest home fries you’ll ever eat. Prices are cheap, the menu is a good size, and you just can’t beat the overall atmosphere at this staple in New Haven. Oh, and the chocolate chip pancakes are good enough to order every single time. Hole in the wall spot that I wish I could visit over and over!
