History
Established in 1988.
Since its founding in 1988, Kenneth Boroson Architects has focused on designing civic and community oriented projects. KBA is regionally recognized for transforming historic buildings and civic sites into human-scaled, modern functioning contextual centers of activity. Project types include but are not limited to educational, multi and single family housing, urban infill sites, and healthcare/laboratories.
In 2003, KBA was awarded the Inner City 100 fastest growing companies in the United States and the top 10 fastest growing companies in CT.
In 2010, KBA was awarded again with the Inner City 100 fastest growing companies in the United States as well as the Zweig White «hot firm» award.
Highlights of the firm’s civic work include design awards for Truman Elementary and Middle School, the new Chaplin Town Public Library, the Old Campus Restoration at Yale University, the Mauro Sheridan Communication and Technology Academy, and the master plan for the Quinnipiac Terrace Hope VI.

Business Owner
As design principal, Ken Boroson works closely with designers and project managers throughout each project. In this role, he supervises client relationships and directs design solutions that meet the project’s functional requirements while achieving a high quality of architecture. The consistency of the firm’s service oriented approach and creative design solutions have led to long-term client relationships and architectural awards.
Ken is dedicated to utilizing sustainable design strategies, historic preservation and new urbanism design that incorporates publicly directed ornament. He is a LEED accredited professional & an active member of the AIA, the New Haven Preservation Trust and the New Haven Colony Historical Society. Ken serves on the Board of the Connecticut Architectural Foundation and on the Board of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation’s New Haven Chapter. Mr. Boroson holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Washington University and a Masters of Architecture from Yale.
