Great customer service. Check in and check out fast and efficient. The car was in great condition and very clean. Totally recommend it!

Great staff, they try to accommodate best they can depending on weather or car needs. I rent here every week and they always do a great job.

Terrible location and customer service. Guys working here seem to hate their life and don’t really care if you have a good experience or not. Have been waiting for our car, for which we have a reservation number for, for 30+ minutes now. Don’t try to use an American Express voucher here — they will do everything in their power not to accept it. Great use of my vacation day… Will not return and will use a different rental company for any future rentals.

Great place that traded the piece of junk I’d gotten from the airport for me. Steve was awesome to deal with and looked until he found a vehicle that had what I needed.

Had some trouble upon pick up because it took 45 minutes to connect with the Hertz shuttle at the New Haven train station (though it’s only a two minute drive away). But everyone was friendly and helpful once I arrived and I was out of there in five minutes. Plus, upon returning the car – which itself was great – the associate helping me noticed that my daily rental rate was especially high and bumped me WAY down to a final price that was only about ¹⁄₃ the cost of my original rate. I hopped an immediate shuttle ride back to the station. Overall, very happy with my experience.

After 45mins of waiting, they gave us an unclean car. This meant waiting another 10 mins to get it cleaned. Not my most favourite way to spend a Saturday morning! This was a similar situation for many customers.
Not cool Hertz, not cool!

i would never rent from this establishment again. i had a confirmation number (g61828744c2) for a full size vehicle and i had to pick it up today at 11a, i should have known something was wrong when i overheard another customer having a problem with her rental at this same location. i was told that the card i had which was «connex», didn’t rent cars using their debit card i was a little upset but understood that it was connex policy and not hertz and i understood that, so i specifically asked the male representative who was there «can i go home and get a another credit card and if so will you have a car to rent when i come back?» his reply was «yeah i have plenty of cars», i went home and grabbed two credit cards just in case one didn’t work and returned to hertz and as i walked up to the desk to the same guy who was of «indian» descent, not the young lady or caucasin? gentlemen, sorry if i misspelled or incorrectly named the guy, he looked at me with a dumbfounded look and said «we have no more cars for you to rent». you can imagine my surprise and disgust that after «he» said there would be cars. i responded «you knew i was coming back and i have my confirmation „listed above“ and you said you would have a car for me to rent» his reply «if you wait 20 minutes there is another two cars coming in but you wont be able to get one because i have people here waiting before you». at this point i am livid! so why would you have me go and get a card to use then have me come all the way back to give away my rental right in front of me” here is the kicker «tweed is the our other closet location» that he recommends. after about a 1 minute stare down of disbelief «i left and said this place is horrible and i am writing a review of how horrible the service is!!! when i told my wife she was just as livid. she called back after several tries «they don’t answer the phone either»!!! the same liar tells her when he swiped my card it declined!!! that is a bold face lie and even if that was true he never asked me if i had another card!!! he told me «we have no more cards and made no mention of my card being declined» my father — in-​law witness the whole conversation. this place is a disgust and should be closed, thank god for enterprise, the cost is more but at least i have a car. i wish i give it this place a 0 star. stay away from this place!!! renters beware!!!

Had a good experience. Was running late for my train and the Hertz employee drove me to the train station in my rental car. Saved the day, thanks!
It was a corporate car booking so I’m unsure if they changed the price or anything like that. Check in and check out were fast and efficient.

Horrible customer service. Would I elsewhere if you have the choice. Staff is not very attentive, they try to nickel and dime you. They tried to give me and another customer dirty cars — dirty! So we asked them to clean it and they got snippy. Finally they cleaned it but didn’t clean the trunk which was full of sand and dirt. Just a poorly run Hertz all and all. They need to get new staff and manager.

Terrible service. Office looks like a dump and they double the price when you get there. Make sure you call and confirm before you walk all the way there.

I’ve been renting cars from this particular Hertz location for a few years now, and my experience with them has been constantly excellent. They are always friendly and I have never had any trouble with the cars I have rented. When I’ve called from the train station for a pick up they have been prompt and courteous. Be warned that this location is small so sometimes the wait can be more than a few minutes, this of course is not the employees’ fault, just a fact of life.

The WORST car rental experience! Arrived at a filthy office to be told that there were no cars available. The staff’s attitude was the worse part. They did nothing to problem solve the situation and just sat back in their chairs with a sour look on their faces.

The worst costumer service known to man!!! I wouldn’t recommend this place to my worst enemy. A heavy set woman with no social skills decided to berate me for not being able to fit my minivan in their FULL garage with a Car blocking the entry way. When I attempted to explain myself she violently shook her head and berated me some more. Hertz has lost my business and everyone I can possibly mass email. I’m absolutely disgusted.

Dropped off a car here before taking the train back to NYC. We had originally picked up the car in Hartford. Check out was fast plus they drove us to the train station. Not bad. Although, with the choice of cars I see available, probably shouldn’t come here to pick up a car. The location pretty much looks like a junkyard.

It’s about a 10 minute walk to this Hertz location which isn’t terrible if you don’t have bags, but chances are you will if you’re arriving at Union Station. However, you can call the office and ask to be picked up. It usually takes about 5 – 10 minutes for them to get to you so you should call when you’re about 5 minutes from the train station so you don’t have to wait long.
Service can by spotty as can the cars they give you. I’d reserved a mid-​size car and ended up with the beast-​like Lincoln Towncar as it was the only one they had with the NeverLost. It was only 2 years old, but looked much older and had between 50−60K miles.
