We are a family-​owned and operated local florist in New Haven, and we’ve served thousands of satisfied customers since 2001! We specialize in weddings of all sizes and corporate events. We work with distinguished local venues and service providers to help ensure the perfection of your wedding or special event. Owner Jennifer Ford-​Chatfield is committed to creating and delivering high-​quality flowers at affordable prices! We know the meaning of value, and our professional floral designers work hard to create elegant floral designs to fit any budget or occasion. History

Established in 2001.

Fleur de Lys Floral & Gifts opened in 2001 as a neighborhood gift shop. With the addition of Mrs. Ford-​Chatfield in 2003, the shop transitioned and began the climb to recognition as the best floral shop in New Haven for 2006 – 2012. Jennifer purchased the business she helped build and continues to grow and expand it in the New Haven area and surrounding communities. «High-​quality product, unique and customized designs and a priority of customer service satisfaction is the motto here. We represent human emotion on all levels and are constantly challenging ourselves to meet the demands of our clientele.»

Not only are the flowers beautiful, but Fleur de Lys also has great customer service. I contacted them because I ordered a deluxe bouquet for my mom, but she received a standard bouquet (not that she could tell because the standard is also beautiful, but I could from the picture she sent me). I was expecting only a refund on the difference in the price between the two bouquets, but instead Fleur de Lys sent *another* bouquet (this time the originally ordered deluxe) the next day for free to make up for the confusion! I really appreciated how they wanted to do right by the customer (me).

I had an incident in which I was unhappy with the outcome of a flower delivery, so I called Fleur de Lys to discuss it. I spoke with Jennifer who is very sweet and who immediately rectified the problem.
While the initial issue was unfortunate, I’m very pleased with the quality of their customer service.
Verdict:
I recommend Fleur de Lys based on their goal to have happy customers with beautiful flowers.

If your arrangement is small, you will likely have to find an alternate source. They are more concerned with large-​venue customers. I called for a funeral arrangement– obviously not something one can plan for. The answer I received is that, «We have too many large events to take care of.» I won’t use this florist again.

When you hire the perennial florist winner of Best of New Haven for your wedding, you get incredible quality and professionalism.
Jennifer’s consultative approach to floral design was just what we needed. Her recommendations on what would work well for our winter wedding and stay within our budget translated into stunning pew bows at our ceremony at St. Mary’s, beautiful winter bouquets and boutonnieres and stand-​out centerpieces at our reception at ROIA Restaurant. The setup was streamlined and professional and the team partnered exceptionally well with the St. Mary’s Church and ROIA staff.
We also chose to have Jennifer as our day of coordinator and could not have been more pleased with her professionalism, guidance and support throughout our planning process. She only offers this in her off season/​when capacity allows, so with our wedding in January, we got very lucky. Jennifer has a deep knowledge of all things New Haven. She has 20+ years in the business and it shows. She is plugged in to the community so she knows of any potential conflicting events taking place on your wedding day.

Fleur de Lys did a fantastic job with a design I ordered for Valentine’s Day. I was out of the country and wanted to surprise my girlfriend with a special arrangement, rather than just a bunch of roses, and Jennifer came through in a big way! She asked for a little information about my girlfriend (her favorite color, her interests, et cetera) and used those details to create an amazing personalized design. The flowers were stunning! There were poppies! I would absolutely recommend Fleur de Lys and won’t hesitate to use them again — the whole process was a pleasure.

I could not be happier with choosing Fleur de Lys as our wedding floral vendor! Everything was perfect! Alex met with us multiple times to discuss our vision. She eagerly looked at pictures of what I liked and did not like, and was always so helpful — she even made suggestions when it came time to choosing colors for the tables and other aspects of the wedding.
Alex has an amazing way with flowers, not only with her own vision, but I feel she really understood my aesthetic and worked it so beautifully into our wedding flowers. She was incredibly professional, patient, and kind. The day of the wedding everyone was totally amazed with the flowers by our Chuppah, and at the restaurant where we held our reception. They were whimsical and yet elegant. Totally perfect.
The best thing is that one week after the wedding, the arrangements are still alive and well in our apartment. My bouquet is still gorgeous, even after being in the freezing cold for hours and our of water at the wedding for maybe 6 hours. I really feel that Alex took the time and energy to make the flowers for our wedding perfect.
No need to look any farther, Fleur de Lys truly delivers at an excellent value. I couldn’t be happier!
Also, the week before our wedding my parents ordered me an arrangement to celebrate another event in our life, and Alex put together something stunning and they were incredibly helpful coordinating a surprise delivery to our apartment. From a bouquet delivery, to wedding flowers, Fleur de Lys is really the best. Wow! A+!

The arrangements are always stunning — and when you describe what you want, even if it is picky — they get it! On top of that Jen’s customer service is amazing. I JUST called to have an arrangement done for a service this weekend and she was honest enough to say that she was committed to a wedding and could not help BUT took the time to give me two florists whom she trusts who could help me.
I’m a huge fan. Highly, highly recommend them!

Ordered flowers over the phone to be delivered to my office – I asked for a «designer’s choice» arrangement and told them I liked lime green and purple. I was SO pleased with the result, honestly one of the prettiest arrangements I’ve ever seen – the florist had used bells of ireland, irises, and ornamental cabbage. It was such a unique, lovely arrangement!!! My office used them for three separate events that day because they were so beautiful. The Fleur Delys Staff was very friendly and helpful, too.
