CJ May is a magician who uses magic, storytelling and 20 years of experience as an environmental professional to entertain and educate audiences.

Parties — CJ creates fun events for special events including Earth Day, Christmas Hanukkah, Halloween, birthdays, bar/​bat mitzvahs and other celebrations.

Professional Development — CJ uses his boots-​on-​the-​ground experience as Yale’s recycling coordinator to help clients plan, implement and administer successful sustainability programs. He makes training enjoyable and memorable with artful use of magic to convey important messages.

History

Established in 2006.

CJ May began using magic for environmental education on behalf of the Connecticut Recyclers Coalition. He has performed his landmark show, «Recycling is Magic,» throughout the state and across the country. He has expanded his focus to include other shows such as Magitricity, a companion piece to the «Seasons of Change» exhibit on energy & climate change at Yale’s Peabody Museum.

CJ has delivered TED Talk-​style presentations to business and civic leaders in Gastonia, NC; Fayetteville, AR and other locations. These provide real-​world examples of success in business, community and institutional sustainability efforts.

CJ has performed message-​based magic on behalf of numerous organizations including the American Lung Association, Abraham’s Tent (program for homeless men), Downtown Evening Soup Kitchen and numerous houses of worship.

CJ has had the good fortune to study at two great schools: Yale School of Forestry & Environmental Studies and McBride’s Magic & Mystery School. In each performance he uses the theatrical and magical skills learned at the latter to convey the wonder of our world, and its presentation, learned at the former.
