Established in 1895, Alderman-Dow Iron & Metal Co., Inc. is proud to be the oldest family owned and operated scrap metal yard in New Haven. Our family has helped keep New Haven «green» by recycling material collected through both our retail scale, open for business daily except Sundays, and our industrial account recycling programs for businesses throughout Connecticut.
From one peddler, Max Alderman, with one carriage in the old Oak Street section of New Haven in 1895, we have grown over these past four generations into a complete full service scrap metal processor.
