Above The Clouds

This ride was on my mother’s bucket list so for her 60^th birthday this was her gift from me. Words can not express how wonderful this experience was not only for me, but my family as well. Professionalism at it’s very best.

My boyfriend and I went for a wonderful balloon ride last week. Everyone at Above the Clouds was fantastic, professional, friendly, funny. Deana and Chris made the whole experience so fun and comfortable. We weren’t nervous at all, and we got to see some absolutely fantastic foliage. The experience was really magical. I cannot recommend it highly enough, and if you’re going to go, definitely go with Above the Clouds. They were fantastic!

Overall just a special experience. My girlfriend and I had never done this before. After a beautiful view from up above we celebrated with a toast of champagne. Chris and Deana were very knowledgeable, fun, and overall good people. An unforgettable experience.

EXCELLENT experience with Chris and Deana. I instantly felt comfortable with Deana when I initially called to inquire about availability. She was very nice and helpful on the phone. My husband and I flew for our 10^th wedding anniversary. We were very fortunate to have PERFECT weather for our flight. I imagine flights are rescheduled due to weather very often. I felt very safe with Chris as our pilot. He has been flying nearly his whole life so if you’re going to fly with someone… he’s your guy!

An absolutely wonderful experience! I spent my birthday with my life partner in a beautifully colorful balloon in the sky, expertly piloted by Chris, who was completely focused on the route of the balloon the entire time, and answered all of our questions about ballooning. Clearly not a novice! Although we were running late from Brooklyn, Deana, Chris, and their team were completely accommodating. We were in the air for a perfect amount of time, we got so high! Very surreal and humbling. The day was so clear, we could even see NYC shining in the distance. Wow. Just wow! We landed softly with barely any force in a very pretty hay field. And let me tell you, sitting on a hay bale while watching the team pack a balloon is a very cool experience. Deana surprised us with a bottle of champagne, and the story of why it’s customary to have a bottle of wine on board. She even made me a cork and foil balloon! We drove back in the van to our car, with big smiles on our faces. We were given two photographs of us in front of our balloon that really captured how excited we were! This was truly an unforgettable experience. Above The Clouds goes above and beyond! Thank you for making my birthday so very wonderful.

I originally heard of this place from a friend of mine and wanted to check it out as a possible proposal site for my girlfriend. I called up Deana and spoke to her about my plan, the details regarding it, and how to make it the best experience.
I was in touch with her, Chris, and Timmy the whole time throughout this process and I can honestly say that it was one of the best experiences I’ve ever had. Not only was their whole team awesome in their jobs but they also helped keep my goal of surprising my girlfriend true.
The whole crew at ATC surpassed all my expectations and made my proposal the best possible experience. I honestly would not have it any other way and I highly recommend them for any type of trip whether it’s a proposal or just a random flight up. They are sure to take care of you!

Absolutely amazing time. Dean was very helpful from when we called to get information all the way through to when we left. Everyone was awesome — her, the pilot’s and crew. We had a fantastic ride mostly due to how wonderful they were. I highly recommend using them to fly!

The flight was smooth, surreal and breath-​taking. The people were fantastic, from Chris & Deana guiding us with their knowledge and flight expertise down to the crew helping us getting in and out of the basket when we ascending and descending. Very courteous, calm and invested.
If heights aren’t your thing, no worries. My fiancé-​to-​be was nervous about her first hot air balloon ride and wanted me to cancel the appointment. But just one conversation with Deana will calm any concerns and answer any nervous questions you may have. She not only put her at ease by answering her questions about heights, balloon material, wind velocity and safely records, but had my fiancé considering another trip in the future with family and friends. We loved it!
Not only would i recommend Hot Air Ballooning to anyone, but I would especially recommend Above the Clouds Inc for their professionalism, humor, and charm. They really made our proposal experience special!

Took my girlfriend for our anniversary and had a wonderful time this past weekend. The flight was surreal and the people were fantastic (both the owners and other passengers). The owners’ enthusiasm and friendliness made the experience that much better and they seem to be well liked by the community.
If you’re afraid of heights, there’s nothing to worry about! The basket feels solid and once you’re off the ground you can’t even tell how high you are. I would recommend this to anyone!
I can’t wait to go again!

Chris and Deana are amazing! Deana is very pleasant and Chris flight skills and great stories kept us entertained! This was a birthday surprise and I enjoyed every moment! I felt like a kid again!

A truly amazing, unforgettable experience. Chris and Deana went WAY out of their way to make this a wonderful trip, from the souvenir photos to the champagne mimosa. To be honest I was a bit nervous, but their calm professionalism made the entire time worry-​free. I’m saving up to do it again as soon as possible.

Had such a wonderful, once in a lifetime experience with Above the Clouds inc. Took my mother and sister as a gift for Mother’s Day and had the greatest time making new memories. The ride was breath taking. Chris and Dena are so lovely and pleasant, it made our experience even greater. I could honestly go on forever about how wonderful our time was but you should experience all the beauty for yourself!

We booked the sunset ride for our one year anniversary. When we woke up the day of the trip the weather didn’t look like it was going to cooperate but Chris assured us it would clear up. We hopped in a car from the city and headed up to the airfield and are so glad we did – it was amazing! Chris and Deana were so nice and made an already memorable experience even better. We had no idea going into it, but the story accompanying their champagne toast at the end was the perfect way to celebrate our paper anniversary. We highly suggest it!

My Fiancée surprised me with a sunrise balloon flight here. The staff (Deana, Chris, Vicki, and the other guys) were so kind and helpful. They even upgraded our package as an engagement gift to us! The weather was perfect, Vicki explained everything as we were going up in the balloon, and Deana made the whole process fun and enjoyable. I must say– Vicki is an experienced pilot. We barely felt the landing. We were provided a champagne toast and keepsake photo to remember our special day by. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a great ballooning adventure!

Not only was this the best weekend of my life because the love of my life asked me to marry him. He surprised me with a weekend getaway and a balloon ride that I was waiting my whole life for. Deana and Chris (the owners) could not have been more supportive nor helpful. The two helped organize our flight as well as document our sunrise trip and proposal.
I would highly recommend flying with ‘Above the Clouds’, Chris and the crew are experts. We even saw balloons from other companies emergency land in a swamp… Stick with the pros!

I suprised my girlfriend with a hot air balloon trip this past weekend and it was an incredible experience. Even though the weather wasn’t the greatest, the team really went above and beyond to make it special.
I had called around a couple of other hot air ballon places, and was really sold by my conversation with Deana. She wasn’t pushy, she was very energetic and fun and made me excited to book it. She didn’t even ask me to book it right then, told me to call her back when I was sure. The other places I called were very pushy, telling me I had to book it now or I would lose my spot.
We had the sunrise tour for a half hour trip, and I booked the Romance package so that it was just us (and the pilot, Vicky) in the basket. I would say the trip lasted closer to 40 minutes which was nice. Everything went very smooth, Vicky gave us some fun facts and explained what she was doing while we were up there enjoying the view.
About twenty minutes in I handed Vicky my phone so she could take a picture of the two of us, and then I got down on one knee and proposed. Vicky took great photos that we will have forever and it was a very special moment. Deana and the rest of the team knew ahead of time so they were «on a mission» to make it perfect.
When we landed, we had mimosas while they deflated the baloon. Vicky made a nice little toast and gave us a souvenir «hot air balloon» made out of the cork and the champagne wire. Safe to say, we had a nice little buzz on the ride back to the airfield.
I would definitely suggest splurging and getting the couple special package even if it isnt a special occasion. For just a little more money you have the entire basket to yourself and I think it was much more enjoyable. Overall this trip was truly fantastic and I highly recommend the services of Above the Clouds. The energy, enthusiasm, proffesionalism, and know-​how of the crew alone makes them the best hot air balloon ride company out there!

My family was in town for my 30^th birthday and my husband surprised me with a hot air balloon ride for all of us! Chris and Deana were such fun people. The whole process was easy professional and fun. The directions to the airport were detailed and made it easy to get there. They had even suggested a place for a pit stop as we were coming from a bit of a distance.
The crew was quick and efficient– I was amazed at how fast the balloon went from rolled up on the ground to inflated and ready for us to get in (after our safety briefing of course).
Once in the air we drifted over the highway where motorists were honking their horns and waving (even at 5am!)! We went over a bank of trees just above the branches– a unique perspective I had never thought about before! The whole ride was so much more about nature than I had anticipated. Once you get used to being in the balloon (high up, open air floating is not something I do every day) you start to see all sorts of animals in their natural setting, but almost like a fly on the wall. There were deer grazing in a field nearby that would look up at you, then go back to their food, bunnies hopping across lawns, a blue heron, a few hawks. My favorite were two baby deer leaping through a high brush marshland. The whole trip was peaceful and amazing.
The landing was easy, and Chris and Deana popped a bottle of champagne and told us about the history of the champagne/​hot air balloon tradition as the crew deflated and packed up the balloon. Then we were in the van on our way back to the airport. When we got there Deana had printed the photos she took before our ride and had them in keepsake paper frames for us!
I highly recommend this experience to anyone who has the slightest inclination to partake. Chris and Deana are top notch and the ride was exhilarating and peaceful at the same time.

All I can say is wow. What an incredible experience. The staff was amazing, accommodating, and extremely professional. The flight itself was a once in a lifetime experience, with views and ambiance to match! Chris (our pilot) was an experienced, and steady hand in the air. The ground crew was efficient and courteous. Overall professionalism and customer service was ¹⁰⁄₁₀. Our flight was confirmed the evening before, as all flying depends on wind. We were forewarned that sometimes flights have to be rescheduled due to heavy winds, or poor weather, but luckily the day was on our side. I booked this as an anniversary present for my parents, and they have yet to stop talking about what an enjoyable experience and memory they now have. Don’t hesitate, if you’re considering booking, this company and crew are the one’s to do it with!
