Dr Antar specializes in state-of-the-art, outpatient treatment of stress, anxiety and depression, and OCD. She also has extensive experience treating patients with bipolar disorder, mood disorders, PTSD and ADHD. Most of her patients work, go to school and are able to live their lives, but have some issues that «get in their way.» Other patients have more significant distress. She is able to treat each person with what he or she needs, whether it is with medicine, cognitive behavioral therapy, insight-oriented therapy or supportive therapy. Dr. Antar’s patients receive the attention and time they need to fully understand and participate in their treatment.
History
Established in 2010.
Dr. Antar has been seeing patients in private practice since 2010. She earned her MD and PhD degrees (PhD in neuroscience) from Albert Einstein College of Medicine in 2006. She completed her psychiatric residency training at Montefiore Hospital, and completed a child and adolescent fellowship there as well. She Completed a psychiatric research fellowship with Dr. Eric Hollander, a world renowned expert on OCD and ASD the next year. Dr, Antar is Assistant Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, and has taught and supervised fellows, residents and medical students there. She has received awards for her basic science research and is well published in several prestigious neuroscience journals. Her work has been cited in Editors Choice by Science Magazine. Dr. Antar has written book chapters, including topics such as Anxiety and Suicide and Impulse Control Disorders, and has served as a section editor for the DSM-V Treatment Manual.
