This is a nice library with a great selection of books. The lending period is longer than any other library I’ve ever been a member of at three weeks! There’s a bookstore in the basement for used books and the children’s section is upstairs, while the main floor hosts nonfiction, adult fiction, reference, DVDs, computers, and the circulation desk. I love that the library has also rescued a cat or two. I find it comforting to watch them prowl around. For the most part they ignore you and go about their cat business, but if your allergic be warned they’re here and it’s their home. My only gripes are I would prefer a comfortable and quiet reading area and the children’s book area is kind of a mess. There are a few cushioned chairs, but they’re in the middle of the two sets of doors you walk into the library from. The main floor seating is hard, wooden tables and chairs. More conducive to studying I guess. However, when the library is busy, it’s kind of a noisy area too so if you were trying to study it’d probably be difficult. The children’s book area is rather clustered mess. If you visit, you’ll see what I mean. There are several rows of book shelves as soon as you hit the top of the stairs and then off to the right are the young adult books, but if you don’t know exactly where you’re going you’re going to have to ask for help unless you want to wonder aimlessly for awhile. Overall, I really like this library, just a few improvements would be lovely. Then it would get the fifth star.
