History

Established in 1992.

Budget Rooter was founded by Suzanne J. Palady after she became disabled and unable to work at her former job. Determined to continue to earn a living and armed with advice from her husband, Suzanne bought four telephone lines, the name «Budget Rooter,» and enlisted her son, Jeff, an experienced drain cleaner. Soon, Budget Rooter became known throughout the industry for cleaning the dirtiest and most obstructed drains, even being called in on jobs by other plumbers.

Proudly remaining family owned and operated, Budget Rooter has served the New Castle, Kent, and Cecil Counties for over 22 years. Most of our skilled technicians have been with us for more than ten years — they are background checked, drug screened, and they undergo frequent safety and skills training. Budget Rooter is known for providing an honest diagnosis of your problem and a fair price for fixing it — not for selling you a solution that you don’t need.

Meet the Business Owner

Jeff P.

Business Owner

My mother, Suzanne, and I started Budget Rooter Drain Cleaning in 1992. For the first three years, I was the company’s only field technician, and was often out past midnight on service calls while going to school for my Master’s License. Budget Rooter began to grow, and I was able to hire and train new technicians. In 2001, I earned my Master Plumber’s License, and Suzanne expanded the business to include full service plumbing.

In 2015, after 22 years, Suzanne decided to retire and transferred majority ownership of Budget Rooter to me, trusting me to continue the mission that we started together in 1992. We at Budget Rooter strive to provide excellent service at a fair price, to remain committed to the environment, and to treat our customers with integrity and respect.
