Established in 2002.

We are a family owned and operated business with 20 years of trucking experience. At American Driver Training Academy you will actually be trained by truckers who worked in the industry. You will be trained on the same model truck that makes up 70% of the truck population on the highways today. Additionally, our weekly evaluations allow you to monitor your progress while in training. Business Owner

Mike McKinley has a passion for trucking. At the age of 16 he got a job working for John Orsini Topsoil hauling dirt. It was this job that made him realize that trucking was in his blood. He eventually saved enough money to buy his own truck and negotiated contracts for hauling construction supplies. One truck soon became sixteen and Mike opened the doors to McKinley Trucking employing nearly thirty drivers. Over the years Mike found that finding work as a truck driver was never a challenge. Truck drivers are always in demand because they keep America moving! He found that there were so many people who wanted to be part of the trucking success, but they needed a great resource to teach them the skill. On the road, he saw too many accidents that could have been avoided if only those drivers had been trained properly. In 2002 Mike decided to shift gears and he opened the doors of American Driver Training Academy in New Castle, DE so he could train the future truckers of America!
