Pretty disappointing experience. Had the fish and chips and fish was like frozen preformed patties. like the kind out of a box. We would not go back!

It’s sad how Jimmy’s used to be a pretty good place to grab lunch or a casual dinner. Now that they’ve changed owners, it’s gone downhill fast. They did some unnecessary inside renovations, nothing major but why spend the money when it was good before? Our waitress was slowwwww and we were only one of two tables there for lunch. Food took over 30 minutes for a sandwich w/​fries and HALF A SANDWICH AND CHILI. Unbelievable. Chili was barely warm, and sandwich was boring. They changed the fries, which is a real shame. The bottleneck fries the other owner had were delicious.
Jimmy’s used to be a good alternative, but I won’t be back.
This local does not give a stamp of approval! (Turn to David’s or Song instead, you won’t regret it)

Omg. Don’t go. We are here right now and service is soooo slow. Bartender, kitchen, servers. This place is ridiculous. Will not be back. Now they lost the ticket.

The parking lot was not packed at all. When we got inside, the restaurant was only about ¹⁄₃ full. However, the hostess told us we were looking at a 10 – 15 minute wait?! We could clearly see that there were about a dozen empty tables. So we figured we might as well wait; probably most 10 minute wait. We waited at the bar. I tried to order a Stella, but the bartender said they were out. He suggested a Blue Moon in its place; I am still trying to figure out how these two beers are similar. Only saw one waitress for the whole place, and barely saw her out on the floor as well. 20 minutes later, still waiting at bar, with our two waters. We decided we waited long enough, and left.

Went late in the evening. Had checked the website and it had indicated it was half price wine night. Server indicated the website was out of date because the new owner couldn’t get rights to it from previous owner.
She indicated special was actually a rack of ribs for $ 15 although sign on the road was missing the $ 5 ($ 1 ribs??).
We had an Italian beef and a chicken breast sandwich. They were good though seemed it take a long time to prepare since there was only one other table.
And finally, the staff seemed very unprofessional… Talking loudly to each other on the floor and sloppily, too casually dressed.
Will not return. Will travel a bit farther to the Red Arrow Road House which Is always great.

My Wife and I have been coming here for 6 years, I guess they changed owners. Prices went up, and the quality went down. Strip steak used to be amazing, and so were the sandwiches. Even the veggies weren’t as good. Service used to be awesome too, now it’s not. Very sad, this used to be a place we looked forward to visiting.

Food is average at best and the service is abysmal. Waited an hour and 45 minutes for 2 dinners. When we complained were told the kitchen lost the order. It was not busy, that excuse made no sense. The manager was a cowardly young girl who offered us a paltry 15% discount for the awful service. There are a bunch of good restaurants in New Buffalo, this is NOT one of them. Do not eat here — they do not deserve your business. Horrible customer service!!!

Sad to say. We went there tonight. It was freezing in there. And I like air. It took 45 min to get our dinner. And wasn’t good at all. Ribs cooked to long. Had to ask server several times what was taking so long. It wasn’t that busy. Now I know why. Worst experience at a restaurant I’ve ever had.

This is not a tip… ok, ok, it’s a tip. The food is not worth the price. It was nice to sit outside but Ellen would be soooooo disappointed! And heaven forbid you waste a DUI in this place. That’s all I have to say. I heard one waitress seemed very nice and happy, ours, she’s mad at her dad buddy. not me ;)

Used to be one of my favorite restaurants in the area but they have new owners and they changed the menu. Last two times my food wasn’t that great and beer was warm. Plus they turned off the stars on the ceiling that everyone loved. Disappointed

This place used to to be great. Now. not so much. It’s become terrible. Server was sort of rude. Food was made incorrectly and over cooked. Nothing was done to correct our food. The place was pretty empty. A few tables at most. A slow night. We ordered two medium cheddar burgers they came out WELL done 24 minutes later. They had desserts (which nobody knew what they were, or any prices), so we ordered the chocolate cake once they figured out what they might have. That came out promptly, but was dry and old. Very disappointed. Probably won’t come back again. Sad to see this place go down hill.

We have been to Jimmys 20+ times and never had a night like tonight. New ownership is not looking good. Tonight we waited 1 hour and 45 minutes until our food arrived and then the order was incorrect. Our waiter was apologetic however the manager was extremely careless. She completely blew
Off our complaints. Jimmys was once a staple and now it’s off the list!

The innkeeper at the place we stayed at told us Jimmy’s is pretty new and people said it was good. We hadn’t read the reviews yet at the point, we just happened to be driving by and almost called an audible on our anniversary dinner. It’s a good thing we didn’t…
Our server said he’s new, but he did a bang up job. Some people are naturally talented at interacting with people, this guy is one of them. I wouldn’t say it made up for the lackluster food, but it helped a little, I guess. I ordered the Italian Beef with high expectations, but it fell way short. The meat had the not-​the-​freshest grayish tint to it, and the au jus was sad. They really shouldn’t have made such a giant batch of jus and trade quantity for quality, because it’s really no better than water flavored with a couple of bouillon cubes. Given that it wasn’t busy at all, I was also disappointed my fries weren’t piping hot. There is too much competition in the small town of New Buffalo to expect to limp by by serving food that is mediocre at best.

So I asked the waitress… burger or beef? She said that both were good, so I opted for the beef. Absolutely delicious is the only thing I can say about this. Complemented with a great glass of California Pinot, this was an excellent sandwich. Absolutely no grizzle, no fat, and crunchy bread, Yum! I’ll be back. Hope those little fruit flies won’t!

My mom took us to Jimmy’s for our anniversary lunch. Upon arrival, there was only one other table occupied (close to noon on a Monday). That was a first bad sign. We checked their website for their menu — the menu on the website is VERY incomplete.
Since I was off work, I figured I could have a beer with my lunch. But the server informed me that the CO2 /​tap system was broken and I couldn’t order any draught beer. What kind of bar & grill has a broken tap system?
Never mind. Time to order. The roast pork sandwich looked great. Oh — the server informed me that the roast pork wouldn’t be ready for another 45 minutes. What? It’s core lunch time. Okay, fine — I’ll order the spicy buffalo chicken wrap.
The wrap was fine, although it had a bit too much ranch and buffalo sauce and dripped everywhere and fell apart. The chicken was flavorful, and I liked their fries. My mom’s lake perch was good-​not-​great. The beef sandwich my wife ordered lacked flavor, and the broth /​au jus was basically just salt water.
Our server was new, but was still one of the only redeeming qualities about the place. He joked with us, he was friendly, and made every effort to rescue management’s mistakes and the poor quality of what came from the kitchen.
I would not return to Jimmy’s.

We had crab cakes, buffalo sandwich and fish tacos … Food was excellent, tasty and good portions.
Service: good. However, all those citronella candles should be lighting up all time to have zero Mosquitos at all time! ;-)
Drinks: sorry, but my lemon drop (very popular drink) was simply awful. No taste. Mostly a bitter flavor.
Other than that, it would be 5 stars.

Got a couple burgers from there today, mushroom swiss and a plain cheese burger. They were pretty bad. The meat was flavorless. They were cooked correctly, but lacked majorly in flavor. They almost taste like they were frozen. The fries are very good– but overall, I would probably not come back here.
New Buffalo is an upscale tourist town, where all the Chicago people stay over the summer. You would think that they could have better quality meats here. The atmosphere is great– but I don’t really care how a place looks as long as the food hits the spot…

One of the better restaurants in the area. Good burgers, salads, etc. Gyros is ok, a bit skimpy on the meat. Good appetizer selection. Bar is best place to sit. Bartender Dan is friendly and professional.

Well… I think during our stay the staff knew we did not enjoy anything they served us, Scallops stunk, tiiiiny servings, what was served was piss poor, service for the most part stood away possibly hoping to avoid dealing with the negative feedback.
Worst part of all is that New Buffalo in general have terrible choices of restaurants, quality and variety, New Buffalo is suffering a culinary drought of ANYTHING remotely decent.

When I visit West Michigan I try to make a stop in New Buffalo! I have had some great Burgers a lunch! The past two time I had dinners once we ordered Pasta and steak! Steak was ok but Pasta was below average.
Yesterday we ordered Salmon and Baby Back Ribs, Salmon was excellent and Ribs was good but not the best in the Midwest according to Menu!!!
Mango Martini was terrible it wasn’t even chill! We asked for crushed iced to chill it :(over all it is a good place for lunch and the patio is outstanding …
