There’s a lot of pizza in New Brunswick but I personally think vinnies tops it! I love this pizzeria, there are so many different toppings and the gyros are the best. I just wished they delivered

I am an alumni of Rutgers and whenever I come back to New Brunswick I make a trip to Skinny Vinnie’s. This venue is a staple of the College Avenue experience. The interior of Skinny Vinnie’s features a beautiful mural. They used to have some nice paintings on the wall. It has the comfiest chairs in town. This review is for the Penne Vodka slice, which is one of, if not THE, best slices. It has a perfect proportion of actual penne on the slice, and the sauce is out of this world. I was nervous because some other review indicated that this store is under new management, and that the sauce has changed. This is simply not true. Vinny is still working the kitchen.

The inside and outside of this place are both skanky as hell. I only got a single slice of plain pizza which was edible but really had no taste whatsoever– so I went to use some toppings to help but the labels were all ripped off all the shakers and nothing had any smell of garlic powder or pepper or anything. So they must have been sitting there open and unused for years. Students in the area should boycott this place so something else takes its spot; it would be a great place for a diner, café, or anything else but this run down shack of a pizzeria.

They used to be good and then changed owners, now they are rude and make terrible pizza, they really ruined this place. The vodka sauce pizza use to be great, now its flavorless

The men who work here are not the least bit friendly at all. I came in here drunk one time and they screamed at my friends and I for not being able to decide what kind of pizza we wanted. there was nobody waiting to order besides us BTW. I thought being at the location they were at, they would be use to drunk college kids by now? Guess not. Their pizza sucked too

At first I loved Skinny’s, thought it was one of New Brunswick’s prime pizza establishments, but then I started eating at other pizzerias and my love for Skinnies quickly dampened. The one major turnoff is the pure price of Skinny Vinny’s, it is incredibly expensive especially for catering to a demographic, college students, who are already strapped for cash. Another thing to note is the price of this pizza is far more expensive than other pizzerias in the area, which is definitely a reason not to come to this establishment. Additionally, the credit card minimum, which was stated below, is another major deterrent of this business, as I am a consumer who almost always uses credit/debit as opposed to cash. Bottom line: the pizza is good, but it does not justify the price in which Skinny Vinny’s charges.

Ive never been ripped off so haRd in my life… at 2A.M. they overcharged me $ 5.00 and I had to fight(request exceptionally verbally) them for m money back. They knew they charged me unfairly and they didn’t put up a fight for my money back. I will never give them another penny of my money because they are thirsty snakes!!!

I’ve been going to Skinnys for 3 years. This year I finally moved onto the street Skinnys is located on, and I’m SODISAPPOINTED. 1. The service is terrible. The owner makes me very uncomfortable and no one is friendly. They rush you and are plain rude. 2. They are inconsistent. They have a $ 6 minimum for credit cards. I work at the gym across the street and they have always let me buy 1 slice and pay with my card. Now, it’s completely random if they let me use my card, or if they deny me food. Also, their prices change. I buy the same thing every time and it’s almost always a different price. I don’t know if they think I’m dumb and want to get more money from me, or if they just don’t have set prices 3. Their food has made me sick. It doesn’t taste great to begin with, and the other day it was the only thing I had eaten so far and I threw up. I thought I was sick, so I bought Skinnys again two nights later and I threw up again.

I was happy when I found out about the buffalo chicken pizza, but ecstatic when I discovered the french fry pizza… yes, they actually put french fries on a pizza. It’s just as delicious and artery-clogging as you would expect it to be. The thin crust is awesome and 2 slices is more than enough to fill you up, even if you come in starving.

Probably the only pizza place in New Brunswick that isn’t completely horrible. Actually, it’s pretty good. I graduated a few years ago but still go here once in a while.

Are you drunk? Is it 2am and the bar just closed or the house party wrapped up(Or more likely shut down by cops). Are you drungry(drunk hungry)? Answer yes to all three then you are at the right place! Skinny Vinnie’s is in the business of satisfying drunks with pizza that only a drunk could love. Seriously, sober you would look at onion ring pizza and go ew. Drunk you however thinks that is the most amazing idea ever. This Vinny is a genius! Even now my only experience here was after heavy drinking. So I’m trying to rate this place using other means of deciphering my drunk rating of this place(5 stars, drunk you will make sex moans while eating chilli cheese fries pizza). 3 stars seems about right. Easy Mac is solid, but drunk me is in love with it. So based on that I’m saying my favorite drunk pizza place on a normal scale should be about 3 stars. Solid.

I love this place! Skinny Vinnie’s great for a quick slice. Vinnie does work there and is the scrawny old guy cooking behind the counter. You gotta respect a man that cooks in his slippers and could careless what you think about him lol

I’m not a college kid anymore, but that didn’t stop me from drinking at a Rutgers football game the other night. Fortunately, I was sober when I ate a plain slice of pizza and IT.PUTS.MANY.NEWYORKSLICESTOSHAME. There’s so much flavor to their skinniness. I’m guessing the greasy curly haired skinny guy was Vinnie at the counter. My cousin said he used to see the same dude back when he went to college. …10 years ago. Besides getting a Fat Cat at Jimmy’s or one of those grease trucks, do yourself a favor and eat a freshly baked, whole plain pie with your friends in their ample seating area. Or if you’re like me, order it for yourself. The only thing that weirds me out is the adjacent sushi joint next door. Why couldn’t they just board it up and make it into a wall? Oh yeah, Rutgers won 63 — 14 against Louisville for the last game of the season. To top off the night, yes, I still had a Fat Cat. Mmmmmm… Trifecta complete.

Skinny Vinnie’s is a popular hangout for drunks as they tend to stay open real late. It’s difficult to review the food as I don’t think i’ve ever eaten here sober, but their food taste pretty awesome when I’m about to fall over.
