I like this restaurant even though it was my first time going there with my gf. I had a blast !! When I walked in with my gf I was seated down quickly by a host. I love how the strawberry margarita tasted. I ask them to put it on the rocks and they also put sugar on the rim of the glass. It was so delicious I even had to ask my waiter for another one. I would recommend this place to anyone who likes to go out and enjoy themselves at a Mexican restaurant.

I’ve been here numerous times. The drinks that we ordered tonight were made terrible. My friend and I come here for the watermelon margaritas. They brought our first one out and it was terrible. It was like they didn’t put any watermelon mix in it and just like lime mix. Then our waiter made our drinks and they were fantAstic(watermelon margarita). Then we ordered another and it came out and it was SO watery and gross. Tasted like they put a little watermelon and some hose water in it. Finally I just asked if our waiter could make us another flavor. This was just a somewhat not a good experience at this place. The bartender cannot make drinks and it sucks our waiter had to make them along with serving a large crowd. I give him a lot of credit so will be leaving him a good tip.

Food is cold !! Bad experience !! The customer service is bad and I don’t remember her name and she said kitchen is closed without any intimation and she also said didn’t you guys look at the door for the closing hours with a strong expression with such a rude answer when coming inn and the server she was told chefs go home when we asked for a brownie with ice cream and still we can see for nearly 2 – 3 table’s food is going outside and with this kindaff behavior she was expecting a tip from us !!

I liked the food a lot in total. The salsa was spicy which gave it more flavor. The place was really crowded when we came in but it was worth it. The service was great as well. The reason this review is only getting four stars is because when there is a birthday it is very loud. I totally suggest you should go here.

Great Mexican food. I love their bottomless chips and salsa, which is quite spicy. The enchiladas came out in big portions and were really tasty. Mango margarita, was tasty, not too sweet or sour, and very strong! Friendly, quick service. Def recommend coming here during happy hour. It’s right off of Cook Campus

They serve unlimited nachos with salsa dip and it’s the best I have had till date. I had cheese Enchilada which also tasted good. The service however was bad and we had to wait for a long time to order.

You can’t beat the food for the price here. They have great specials almost every day of the week. We love going to On The Border and we always know what to expect when it comes to the menu. Would highly recommend.

The service was excellent however everything we ordered was WAY too salty. We had fish tacos(the fish was grilled but seemed to be dredged in some kind of seasoning) and shrimp fajitas(same deal with the seasoning). It was almost inedible. It was like pouring sazon onto your tongue. There is not enough modelo especial in the world to wash it down… And we had serious stomach aches when we came home. Houlihans next door is way more consistent so we will be sticking with them.

The best item is the complimentary, bottomless chips and salsa. The salsa is spicy and quite flavorful. The chips are fresh which makes the dish a million times better. The food is okay. It’s nothing special. I got the fish tacos and was slightly disappointed. It was so bland that I had to put the salsa on it to taste something. The beans and the rice that came with it was bomb!

Tuesday 2 dollar tacos. If you go to bar or a table in the bar they have 2, 3 and 4 dollar specials. The mini tacos on the bar menu are the same as the regular tacos but are 3 for 3.00. Amazing. Great chips and salsa comp with meal.

We decided to try this place one day after jose Tejas wait was just way too long. I’m happy that happened though because we found a gem of a Mexican food spot. Never a long wait if there is one, they serve coronaritas which is one of my favorite drinks to have while dining on tacos & enchiladas. If you can’t make up your mind I suggest the pick your own combo it’s great you can get enchiladas, tacos or a taquito type thing only better(flautos) I think they call them. Tried the queso tonight it was freaking awesome! Go here eat here all the time and relax and enjoy all the waiter are prompt and smiling.

Love their chips and salsa! It’s always great to be greeted with a bowl of warm, salted, bottomless chips and salsa! I would come here just the chips and drinks! I’ve never checked out their happy hour, but I’ve had their cocktails at other times. They’re good! Very strong and well-mixed! For food, I think it’s okay, average, and nothing special! It’s a good fix for Mexican, and the prices are not bad for the amount of good you get! I usually choose two items with a side of rice and beans for about ~$ 9. The service tends to be quite good! Very attentive and friendly waiters. However, it’s common to wait at least 30min to an hour during dinner times and on weekends.

I know it’s a chain but it was definitely more disappointing than it could have been. Ordered chicken fajitas and when it got to the table the plate was not even merely sizzling anymore. Thought it would be ok, but everything was barely warm. Rice and beans were already cool too. I was out with friends so didn’t want to send it back. Even the water tasted bad and had that metally, tap water taste. Margarita was the only thing that was pretty good. We also order dessert: brownie with ice crea. m… the ice cream was half melted when it got to us. Coffee was pretty bad too and I normally drink just about any coffee. Overall, not a great experience.

In this update I’m bumping up my previous review by one star. That’s because our waitress, Julia, was excellent, and management is very attentive to any problems. This time we were only two adults and one child, instead of a party of 10. And it was a Thursday night. Still, virtually every table was filled, and the kitchen has proven once again that they are incapable of handling crowds. We started with a guacamole appetizer, which is tasty, but still needs some spice. It was room temperature, but this time the restaurant was so warm that the guacamole was, too. It should have been chilled. I wanted to stay close to what I had ordered last time in order to compare it fairly, so I got the Make Your Own Combo again, this time making it the same spinach enchilada, but adding a tamale with the gloppy sauce kept off, and substituting grilled fish for the fried fish taco. Just like last time, the food was COLD. The tortilla soup we started with was warmer than last time, but still not served steaming, the way soup should be. It’s a really good tortilla soup, so it’s unfortunate. But the plated food being cold — really cold — is inexcusable. Cold rice, cold black beans, tepid everything else. The kitchen just can’t handle it, and we weren’t sitting around waiting for our food that long to make us think that it was a server problem. On the positive side, the manager came right over without us asking for him as soon as we told our server about the problem; he remade the entrée(warmer, but still not hot!), and comped both main courses. I liked the fish taco a lot, but would have liked it better if it had been the proper temperature. At the last minute we decided to splurge on the brownies sundae. THAT they managed to heat up properly(the apple pie one table over was steaming, too), and it was really tasty and full of nuts, which I love. The kid menu is a really good deal — $ 4.99 for a large selection of entrees, most of them the usual unhealthy crap available to kids at most restaurants, but with a couple that are a few notches up, i.e., grilled chicken taco. And there are a choice of sides, one of which is sauteed VEGGIES!!. Kudos awarded. It also comes with a choice of drinks, including milk, and a small sundae for dessert. Definitely the best kids’ deal around. As I said earlier, Julia was a terrific waitress and very friendly, and helped boost the enjoyment quotient of our dinner. While I do appreciate that management is concerned enough to try to make things right, I’d really rather not have to deal with what seems to be an ongoing problem. I guess not enough people complain for them to have to actually do something about it.

Easily made a reservation for 10 people. The chicken fajitas were flavorful and loved them with my side of rice, beans, and guacamole. The runners apparently forgot my pico de gallo but my server quickly caught that. She was also quick in replenishing our chips and salsa and just all together efficient and great! She also collected the others to sing happy birthday to my friend! The margaritas were on the disappointing side. Had both their top shelf margarita and the agave. They were both just sour and sweet with no alcohol. Overall just really great service and a 100% improved experience compared to my experience at their Paramus location.
