Froyoworld

Froyoworld is by far my favorite of the litany of froyo places that sprung up other the last few years, and for good reason. They seem to have the best combination of froyo/​sorbet flavors along with toppings, along with my favorite froyo topping of all time — Lucky Charms marshmallows! Why more places don’t have them as a topping continues to baffle me.
Along with a good amount of toppings, Froyoworld seems to have more sauces to drizzle atop your creation than just about any other place I’ve been to, and I’m a huge fan of options when it comes to my froyo concoction.
The prices seem right in line with most other places I’ve gone to, and the interior is set up and painted to look very cool and colorful.
If you’re into froyo and live at or around CCSU, Froyoworld is the place to go!

Froyo is great for a sweet semi healthy treat, it’s a little pricey the first time because people tend to over do it. My favorite flavor is Birthday Cake with Captain Crunch and Lucky Charms marshmallows.

I attended ccsu and participated in a fundraiser that froyoworld hosted and it was our responsibility to promote our event in the weeks before it. They were gracious enough to let us use their establishment and we had a great turn out!
The staff and management were very friendly and accommodating.
Hopefully we can have another one in the near future!

Fantastic froyo! I came with a friend and we were both pleasantly surprised by how many options there were, both for the yogurt and the toppings. The shop was very clean and organized, and there were plenty of tables to sit at. The only downside is the shop is in a little shopping area and the parking lot is pretty small. We were able to find a spot without problems, but on a busier day it could be an issue. Overall, the experience was great and I would definitely visit Froyoworld again.

Froyoworld is absolutely top tier when it comes to frozen yogurt. First and foremost they always do an excellent job of switching up flavors on a pretty regular basis not to mention that the flavors are consistently creative and delicious.
The toppings are nice but they could do a little more when it comes to doing dry toppings or ones that aren’t just straight up candy. Things like brownie bites or Reeses Pieces or other traditional sundae toppings would be refreshing.
The staff at this Froyoworld is wonderful. They are friendly and are just a lot of fun to interact with especially because they can handle the banter. The cherry on top of all of this is how amazingly low the prices are. Seriously, whenever I get to the register and they tell me my total I’m like, «Whoa Froyoworld, you so cray cray!»

Attended Emily’s CMYE here last night, sadly solo. However, it was nice to meet a few of the local Unilocalers and relax after what proved to be a circus of a day at The Big Red Star™.
It’s simple here… grab a cup, get your swirl on and top it off to your hearts content. Pay, sit and enjoy. Quality, IMO, is good. It’s tasty, that’s for sure. But I thought it may have melted a tad too quickly (but that could be due to usage of the machine… not a big deal, folks).
My only criticism of the place is the acoustics. As it fills up, there is, to me, lots of echo. It prevented me from really hearing a lot of what was going on in conversations. I’m sure a couple of the Unilocalers with whom I was sitting thought I was a bit aloof. Nope, just couldn’t hear ya and was embarrassed about it.
Drat…does this mean I’m getting old? Oh. My. God. I’m getting old? I need more froyo. That should help, right?
Nice place. It’s bright and cheery and enjoyable. And they hosted a nice event. Glad I was in the area.

It’s a crazy froyo world out there, friends! There are enough of these places opening up to bring me back to the yogurt craze of the early nineties, but I’m not complaining; I liked it then and I like it now.

hosting the event and hooking me up with a 50% off deal. The place was bright, clean and cute. In addition to the selection of delicious froyo, they offer sorbet, something I’ve never seen in a yogurt shop before.
Also new to me were the tablets above each machine, listing the nutritional information for each flavor. Nice touch! I wanted Peanut Butter, but opted for the calorically conservative Vanilla– and then added about 500 calories worth of peanut butter sauce and candy. Oh well!
I also got myself a rewards card while I was there, which will keep me coming back. The yogurt was a little more melty than I would have liked and I wound up throwing out my remaining yogurt soup, but not a huge deal.

Where do I even begin? From the moment you step foot into this place it’s like you’ve entered another realm. As soon as you walk in you’re absorbed by a vibrant white and extremely clean space with fun bright colors and neon lights! There’s plenty of seating whether you prefer a table, a booth-​like bench, or the island with stools.
Now the Froyo. The self-​serve machines have an abundance of flavor options and electronic tablets above each flavor with its nutritional information. The peanut butter and cracker jack flavors would be my top two picks, but there are many others for the fruity lovers, traditionalists, and chocolate enthusiasts. These self-​serve machines even offer the option to mix two flavors together so as to create a swirl concoction similar to vanilla/​chocolate swirl soft-​serve. The nice thing about Froyo World is that staff is always on-​hand to provide you with samples prior to make a definitive choice so you don’t end up with something you don’t like. Let me add the staff has always been very attentive, and helpful from great customer service to keeping all counter space extremely sanitary when I have stopped in which is regularly.
After making your selection of flavor (s), you move on to the topping counter which is infinite from different cereals, cookies, fruits, candy bits, brownie bites, and much more the possibilities truly are endless. Once you’ve topped your Froyo to your heart’s content to move on to the final stage of building your Froyo to perfection with many syrup and cream options like fudge, Nutella, caramel, whipped cream, and even fluff. Once you’re all done you are at the register ready to weigh and pay for your heaven in a cup.
Highly recommend stopping in. There’s no way anyone would regret it and I doubt any other Frozen Yogurt place could even compare. My standard is so high because of this place that I don’t even bother with any other imitations. Froyo World has one loyal customer here.

Originally I thought this was just another frozen yogurt (froyo) place so I had never made it a priority to make my way over. One day a friend wanted to stop in– and thank goodness he did, because my whole life changed after that! Dramatic, you say? Yeah, probably, but this is why. A few days after that I brought my girlfriend who LOVES ice cream, simply because she was having a bad day. What we found were VERY helpful staff letting us taste test any flavor we wanted and walked us through how it works.
There were about 10 flavors to choose and mix into our cup– very fresh, sharp flavors, not like «oh yeah, I can see why they call this peanut butter». After you choose your froyo and swirl them in your cup yourself, you go to a topping station where there’s at least 15 toppings to choose from– anywhere from cookies, nuts, candies to fresh fruit. Then you move your way down to the condiment station (so think 8 things like whipped cream, pb, hot fudge, caramel, marshmallow). And then you’re at the end, weighing your creation to see the cost. My first made sundae was about $ 4 which i was surprised how inexpensive it came out to be. Now girlfriends turn… hers came out to be about double of mine, which if you could’ve seen this monstrosity, you would be amazed at the price too.
The two members working there cleaned up the whole time (a huge important factor to me because I used to be a barista manager)…everything from the floor, to the froyo stations, and all the crumb/​spills from the stations inbetween. They were friendly and looked on top of everything, aaaaand it looked like they switch out some flavors to keep it new. I’d say the only bad part were some of the customers– there were a few kids RUNNING around who’s parents didn’t think it was important to keep their fingers out of stuff and that the place was a gym. Thank you to the team members who kept it clean and saved the place from nasty little fingers ;o)

First off I use Pink Berry as my gold standard when rating froyo. I was so excited to try Fryo World because of all the positive reviews. I arrived on a weekday evening, the place was full of students. I think I was the OLDEST customer. I navigated my way to the self-​serve machines. None of the flavors were calling my name. I don’t care for cake batter or red velvet. I prefer hazelnut or fruity flavors. I ended up selecting their original simply because none of the flavors were to my liking.
The fruit toppings were prepared in an annoying way. I like my toppings to be finely diced. I’m not a fan of half a strawberry on top of my frozen treats. Tiny finely diced pieces are preferred. I did like the gel capsules– not sure what those are called but those were simply amazing. My biggest complaint was that my froyo sorta melted the minute it hit the bottom of the cup.
Price wise the cup wasn’t expensive at all but I didn’t like the quality of the toppings. I’m a fruit snob and I’m super particular about the quality of my fruits. I couldn’t help but think of where the fruit toppings came from. An okay experience but I’d rather go to Pink Berry !

I checked this place out with some girlfriends of mine after dinner. Even in February it hit the spot.
Short and sweet, this place offers 49c an ounce frozen yogurt. You get more and pay less. A big cup for me came out to $ 6.
Almost 3 times as much frozen yogurt than the Pinkberry ripoff mini cone =)
The frozen yogurt comes in flavors like candy apple, Girlscout Samoa cookie, orange sorbet, raspberry, cake batter and more. A much bigger selection at a more fair price. Toppings include lucky charm marshmellows, caramel syrup, cereal, crushed hard candy, gummy bears, etc.
Skip the overrated stuff. Even if it’s delicious, it’s not worth the price. Go to Froyoworld instead! It’s delicious AND inexpensive ^_^

Disclaimer: I have been around the block and tried froyo at some of the «best» places in the US.
However, I’d be lying if I said that I was a huge fan of frozen yogurt. My fiancé on the other hand, loves it. So I’ve developed a taste for it over the years. But this place, I’ll definitely be okay coming back to. I dropped by froyoworld, because I was back in CT visiting family, and I hadn’t eaten froyo in quite some time.
In any case, wanted to give this place some credit for it’s high quality of frozen yogurt. I can’t stand froyo that is runny, or for instance, that doesn’t have the right enough of «milkiness» to it. Froyoworld makes their froyo right on. I literally licked my cup clean.
If you’re in the area and looking for some great froyo, stop by this place. Also, it definitely doesn’t hurt that the staff/​owner (?) is friendly as well. I met a guy named Justin (?), and having lived in the South for the past 10 years, I definitely appreciated his genuine friendliness.
Like I said before, I’ll definitely be back.

Awesome selection of self-​serve Frozen Yogurt. Plenty of flavors and toppings! My favorite part was that they had the lucky charms marshmallows as a topping!!! Unfortunately, I missed the Unilocal 15% off coupon, but i’ll have to use it for next time :) PS — it was $ 19 for three cups! Not bad!

I LOVE THIS PLACE.
If theres one thing my someone from California can confidently comment (alliteration!) on its a self serve frozen yogurt shop. I’ve been on a tear since moving to Connecticut — juxtaposing every eatery I’ve come across to it’s California equivalent. Atmosphere, service, flavors, toppings, location — they got it all!
No comparisons necessary, doesn’t matter if you’re from California, Connecticut, or the North Pole — if you’re of this world, make it Froyoworld!
On days I’m feeling ‘healthier,’ I opt for their Original Tart flavor (which I find to be slightly different than other frozen yogurt shops; in a good way!). The tart flavor pairs nicely with their fruit selection (mangoes, strawberries, kiwi, and lychee!) and a bit of granola! Perfect in the morning!
On days I’m looking to ‘indulge myself,’ I lean heavily on vanilla bean and some sweet complement of cake batter, cookies and cream, or chocolate — PERFECT NOMS. Then add some graham cracker dust, toffee, a few gummy bears for color, and brownie bite. #ifthatsnotindulgenceidontknowwhatis
Now, It sounds like I love frozen yogurt and could have said this about any establishment; so what makes Froyoworld different, what makes it better?
Uh, everything.
First off, Froyoworld LOOKS like i place i want to eat, hangout, and come back to — -to eat and hang out. Plenty of seating, good music playing, and free WiFi – I’ve hung out in here on my laptop for an extended period of time and nobody seemed to mind or death stared me to leave. kudos!
Also, I don’t know if this is just a comparison to some gross Cali shops I’ve frequented but Froyoworld is CLEAN. Most noticeably their topping section is an immaculate thing of beauty! The last thing i want to see is a popping boba ball floating in the cherry juice, but the Froyo staff makes sure to get its presentation points! Theres nothing less appetizing than seeing a crusted/​dried out version of the topping you wanted to select sitting on the counter — thank you for sparing me the distress! We eat with our eyes first, and I love visually eating here!
Finally, the staff is friendly (and cute!) and the service is great! They also have a Unilocal deal! If you check in you get 15% off your cup!

1.) Introduction:
I was in need of something sweet after I previously ate a meal that was from the salt area. Plus, I wanted to see how it lived up to its other corporate competitor, Pinkberry.
2.) What your eyes may see:
Bright lights, nice bright like wall paint colors. I love the layout of the place. Each yogurt station has tablet screens that display its information (nutritional facts, ingredients, allergy warning, and even the Unilocal logo). This definitely gives its edge compared to its competitor.
3.) Yogurt:
I sampled shot glass sizes of Cake Batter, Gingerbread Man, Red Velvet Cupcake, and Cookies and Cream. Out of the four, I liked the Cookies and Cream then the Gingerbread Man. I thought the Red Velvet Cupcake to have a very weird after taste, almost like they threw it in a bucket of paint or it was eaten out of a unapproved government plastic container (remember that whole epidemic where people were checking the bottoms of their plastic products to see what number was given? I forgot, I think it was a number 2 or 6 was bad? lol). They charge by the ounce .49 cents which gives them another edge against its competitor.
4.) Service:
A sweet girl named Nicolette gave me a little tour of the flavors and such. She was very nice.
5.) Impressions:
I gave it 4 stars for its aesthetics and prices. Three stars is given to Frozen Yogurt places overall, because my palette doesn’t really favor it. Ice cream and Yogurt for me tend to be eaten in small amounts, because the flavors are just too consistent (aka boring) after awhile. So I eat stuff like that sparingly. I recommend this place to anyone who likes frozen yogurt, though. I think Pinkberry and Froyo World have their own tastes (especially after tastes), which I guess both places can please specific types of people.

Froyoworld has quickly become my new favorite self-​serve frozen yogurt joint in the area. I stopped in for a visit yesterday to check this place out since it opened recently and immediately after leaving I wanted more. Still craving it!
The red velvet flavor was divine — creamy and tasted very similar to a red velvet cupcake with cream cheese frosting (my favorite cupcake of all time). It was also the perfect shade of red — just like the color of the red velvet cupcakes I make from scratch. The peanut butter nut flavor was another favorite. And the chocolate… and the original tart. Even though the quality of all the flavors is important, I tend to place the most weight on how good the original tart is when I try a new frozen yogurt spot. Froyoworld’s is absolutely perfect. Definitely one of the best I have had in a self-​serve frozen yogurt shop.
The toppings bar area is a thing of beauty. An abundance of fresh fruits available with mango, blueberries, blackberries, strawberries, and many others. The cheesecake bites, brownie and crumb cake bites were huge and looked incredibly fresh. Then there is an area of different cereals and granola you can use to top your frozen treat if that is what your heart desires. There’s also a section of cookie crumbles — my favorite of which was the graham cracker dust. I had never seen that anywhere and it was so good! Excellent when used as a topping for my combo of peanut butter nut and chocolate. I topped the original tart with ripe, fresh, mango. Everything in this area — the syrups, sauces, and toppings were well organized, clean, and accessible.
A few words on the décor: it’s bright, hip, and fun. Walking in to a nicely lit setting with teal walls and pink and white accents just makes you happy. Perhaps a day in class or work has drained you. Well, come here and you will get an instant lift from the peppy and cheerful environment. Get yourself a medium or large cup if whatever flavor combinations you dream up. The lively environment and tasty treat will bring you back to life!
What I love about a place like this are the endless amounts of combinations you can create with all the different flavors of frozen yogurt and toppings. Many have compared frozen yogurt to ice cream and in my opinion it’s not a fair comparison. It’s like comparing apples to oranges. They’re both fruits but completely different. While frozen yogurt and ice cream are both creamy frozen treats they’re made with similar but different ingredients and the process of making each is also similar but different. They’re just not the same thing. I love both, but sometimes I am in the mood for one or the other.
I’ve been to a handful of other froyo spots in the state and this one is right at the top with the very best. Do yourself a favor and go!

I’m totally obsessed with self-​serve frozen yogurt places and I am compelled to try each and every one that pops up in central Connecticut. That means that I have been to a lot of them within the last year.
Speaking of central Connecticut, this location is in front of the CCSU campus. This is very convenient for students trying to get away from the generic cafeteria food.
Back to the froyo, there are ten different flavors to choose from. There’s even a couple of sorbet flavors for your lactose-​intolerant friends, Luckily when I was there, there was the red velvet flavor, which tasted like the frosting of a red velvet cupcake. Mmm… There was also Pumpkin Pie, Chocolate Thin Mint, Peanut Butter Cup, Cake Batter, Cookies and Cream, Tart, Raspberry Tart, and some others I don’t remember.
As far as the toppings, it is very similar to their competitors; fresh fruits, cereal, chocolates, and syrups. The bright turquoise interior reminds of Aqua’s 1997 hit «Barbie Girl» music video. It looks like they stole the white spider-​webby seats from Pinkberry… lol! I’m 29, but I was, by far, the oldest customer in the store. The employees at the register seemed very nice.
I wished that they offered more little cups for sampling. They exist, but you have to ask and they only give you three.
Grand Opening is November 17, 2012. I think there are specials for the first 300 customers.
Sure beats Pinkberry.

November 2^nd isn’t exactly an ideal date to open a frozen yogurt place, but given what I saw today, I think this one will have some staying power despite the impending weather.
Stepping inside is a bit like stepping into Barbie’s Dreamhouse, but once you get past that, you’ll like what you see. Unlike the increasingly frustrating Pinkberry, Froyoworld is self-​serve, with a whopping 12 different flavors to choose from at any given time. The flavors and descriptions are displayed above the spouts on iPads, along with the Nutrition Facts panel for the health conscious…
[seems like a waste of iPads, but anyway]
I had a little of the Raspberry Tart, and a little of the Peanut Butter Nut, both very good choices. It should be noted that Froyoworld always has two seasonal flavors (Pumpkin Pie and Thin Mint as of the writing of this review) as well as two sorbet flavors.
Lots of self-​serve toppings, comfortable seating, nice people working there… and it all comes in at 49 cents an ounce. That’s 2 cents cheaper than Yogurt Madness in Newington.
Seeing as how my girl and I live up the street from Froyoworld, I think we may have a new place!
