Recently one of our AC units stopped cooling. We first called another company because we have a service contract with a discount with them for plumbing. The tech was 2 hours late, wouldn’t listen to me, was condescending, first said we had a power problem because it was throwing a short cycle error. Then said it was the capacitor and/or the compressor and would be minimum $ 350 up to $ 3300 to fix the unit. I said I would get a second opinion, thank you. Clifton came out and said it was just the capacitor and charged me $ 175. While he was here, he washed the dehumidifier filters, inspected our entire cooling system, ordered us easier-to-use replacement filters, and checked out my mom’s unit in the guest house. He went up into her attic space, charged her unit with freon, and changed her filter. He also noted a plumbing issue for her and a dryer vent issue for us… so we could prevent any problems with those systems down the road. We ordered 3 years of filters for mom’s house, 2 year’s worth for our 2 units, and with the freon and capacitor, the whole bill was $ 503. In and out in 2 hours… and we spent some of that time just chatting. Incredible service, Clifton had his son, William, working him who was just as personable and charming as his dad, I cannot recommend Miculka Mechanical any more highly. Wonderful, local, family-owned, and reasonable prices.
