Love my Prius, great buying experience!

I have been a loyal Toyota owner since high school. I have owned a Corolla, 4Runner, purchased a new FJ Cruiser, Tundra, and Prius. The FJ and Prius were from this dealership. Both times I wasn’t pleased with the service, but I’m loyal to the brand so I dealt with it to get what I wanted. I went in this weekend to see about leasing a new Corolla sport plus. I was apprehensive given past experiences at this location, but Issac was laid back, knowledgeable, and didn’t try to write up my FJ as a trade in like so many others had anytime I’ve come onto the lot. We negotiated to an agreeable number and all was good. Then my credit came back with a huge hiccup in part to their financing department not reporting my FJ as paid in full 4 years ago and instead reporting me as 4 years past due on a payment. This cascaded into some other issues and sadly, we were prepared to walk. Although the finance issues were not their fault, the GM Billy Thomann got involved and helped to resolve the issues to get us back on track. He went above and beyond to make things right and retain a loyal Toyota customer. This dealership is under new management/​ownership and is really trying to turn things around. Billy understands the value in his customers and makes that evident in how he handles business. If you’re like me and have had bad experiences in the past or have heard negative things about the sales staff, give them another chance. This isn’t just another change in management. This is a change from the top and Billy is personally vested in making Toyota of New Bern a reputable name in ENC again. They have more than won me back as a loyal customer.

Took my car in for them to fix a problem with my airbag, (which they created by not hooking it up properly) and state inspection. They told me I failed and it would cost $ 1000. I then took my car for a second estimate and it wound up costing $ 70. Nice try ripping me off. Be very careful what they tell you there. Now I know to trust my instincts and never go to a dealer for problems.

The salesmen here are as pushy as they come. I’ve never felt more uncomfortable than when I was browsing some cars while getting work done on my current vehicle and was approached by a man who wanted to show me the cars I was looking at. I said I loved my current car but the work on it was going to be costly and he explained that if I purchased a new car that day I wouldn’t have to «pay» for the repairs on my car if I traded it in. I said I would have to see the total cost then talk to my husband but he was at work. He synced my iPhone to the car computer system thing to show me how that worked then proceeded to dial my husband’s work number and ask him over the speaker phone if I was allowed to buy a new car today. What the fuck??? I’m never going back to this location ever again even though their service department is pretty good.

The team at Toyota of New Bern went out of their way to get me the car I wanted. Even though I have horrible credit. These guys are great

I got an amazing deal on my Avalon. Everyone was friendly and helpful. Our salesman was new and the manager jumped in on occasion to move us along quickly with our purchase. Military friendly deals and rebates.
We will certainly return to buy again.

Went in today without an appointment to get regular maintenance on out Tundra.
Gentlemen working there were so polite, neat, and soft spoken. They took my information in less than minutes and took my truck to get serviced. Waited with my sons and was ready in less than an hour. Was so happy they offered to wash her, she was so dirty from the snow and rain.
We drove from Camp Lejeune. We refuse to return to Stevenson Toyota for anything.
Thank you Toyota of New Bern. We will see you in 5000 miles or 6 month.
