First time I went here i ordered broiled haddock. The portion was so small,(how small was it?) I mistook it for bait. Really, I’ve had larger foodcourt toothpick sample portions at the mall. The second time, I ordered swordfish with a mango salsa. Portion size was an improvement, but I’ve had better cuts elsewhere. It was tasty. Large bar, plenty of flat screens to watch the game.

Went for the first time today. Will definitely be the last. The food was awful. Everything was greasy and had no real flavor at all.

Went to Fort with the military museum. It is a must see for historical value too.. Thee museum suggested this restaurant. I also suggest the museum. Then go to the edge restaurant for a late lunch, early dinner. Dinner was pretty good. I had the lobster Mac and cheese. It was pretty good. There was more lobster in the Mac than I expected. I would eat there again. They put the whole lobster in! See the photo! A glass of wine would have been nice. Next time! Also right by the water, great parking.

This review is late, I went to the edge in march of this year. I was very excited at the thought of a new waterfront restaurant opening to replace the long dead davys locker. I went at about two pm for a late lunch. The bartender was dismissive and could not wait for me to order so she could return to her male customer on the other side of the bar. I ordered a martini, which was presented in the smallest glass I have ever seen with no sidecar, for 12 $. I drank that and waited for the bartender to acknowledge me so I could order a meal and another sad martini. I got the fish and chips with a cup of clam chowder. The meal was served to me by the hostess, since the bartender couldn’t seem to drag herself away from her one other bar customer. Chowder was meh, tasted mostly like cream. Fish and chips were ok. Thank goodness the hostess came back to check on me, since the only other time the bartender interacted with me was to drop the check. 12 $ martinis and 14 $ fish and chips??? This place is a joke. I don’t mind paying for food but the quality of the edge’s products are not in line with the price. I would not refuse to go here but I would never recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Love the view of boats coming and going. Can’t get by the unpleasant funk smell :(Seems it got worse when vent air came on? Food was good, but … Need to track down source of odor that permeates this otherwise promising eatery. Oh, first glass of water tasted odd… replacement was normal.(Maybe nozzel had residual?) Never experienced this before…

We ate here when they first opened as The Edge. We were very disappointed. We had high hopes because we loved Davies Locker. I ordered a salad with strawberries and avacado, there was one small slice of avacado on my over priced salad and some mushy strawberries. My boyfriend was not all impressed with his fish, neither of his parents wanted to finish their seafood dishes. We reached out sending an email complaint after experience, just hoping for some kind of small apology response, we received no response or recognition of our email! So not only were we unhappy with our dining experience, no one at The Edge even cared.

I’ve grown up in New England my entire life. I’ve eaten seafood from all over, but nothing is like fresh seafood from here. I wish this restaurant was indicative of delicious northern Atlantic seafood. First, the service was atrocious! There was absolutely NO professionalism, and an astounding lack of knowledge of the menu. Almost every price simply said«Market», and no one could tell me the definite price of anything. Waiters had to be waived down from the bar on this inside of the building if anything was needed. The rolls were stale, and the parmesan«oil» they give to dip them in is simply melted butter with an over-abundance of seasonings. I ordered the lobster scampi. The tomatoes were over-ripe and mushy, and the pasta was extremely over-cooked. The entire dish was sloppy & tossed in an unhealthy amount of oil. The lobster was chewy and tough. When I asked our waiter if the lobster was frozen before being prepared he turned and yelled over us to ask another waitress, who could only shrug. He left to «ask the chef». While he was gone, I bit into a piece of lobster that was actually still frozen on the inside. He returned to attempt to explain to us that the lobster was fresh and the meat was tough because of the type of lobsters they use. Needless to say, I was embarrassed FOR him. Another guest with us ordered the fish and chips, which was over battered and tasted purely of burnt oil. We were seated on the lower balcony, in which the awkward parking lot blocks the views in which this location boasts so much about. The décor was modern, and the drinks were strong, but simply put, this restaurant is EXTREMELY over-priced for its quality, and we will never return to dine at this establishment.

Where to begin??? The calamari was good the last time I was there but this time it sucked. I paid for«some» calamari & the rest was made of greens, batter that fell off, green onion & banana peppers. The app plates were dirty as well! I ordered the special which was okay, I now know that I’m not a fan of white fish with tomato sauce. The veg was green beans & carrots… neither was cooked nor had any flavor at all. I went to add some salt & pepper & the shakers were disgustingly dirty! Wasn’t using that on my food! For such a great location on the water & interesting set up I was truly disappointed in the food. Plus the windows looked horrible… glad I wasn’t sitting close! It will def be a while before I go back, if I go back.

This place is great … rich the outside bartender is awesome. He was the reason this visit was great as it was. Drinks came fast and cold. The atmosphere here is awesome… I will definitely be coming back very soon …

Ever hear the expression«lipstick on a pig»? That’s what you got here. They did some renovations and fancied it up a bit but it is plain and simple below that façade not so good. Yes it is a decent location, yes it has had some renovations. The service was HORRIBLE both times I went. It seems the workers are there as a hobby or to socialize, not to work. The food is average to low quality for New Bedford. I would expect all fish dishes to be spot on, but that wasn’t the case. Sure you want to set yourself apart and seem upscale… but when the only thing that is up, is the prices and not the service, quantity, quality… nothing else, in most customers eyes it is a one and done and just doesn’t work.

I got the baked stuffed shrimp, it wasn’t the best and wasn’t the worst baked stuffed shrimp I’ve ever had. The stuffing is soaked with wine and that’s pretty much all you can taste. My fiancé got a steak and broiled scallops. The 4 scallops were sitting in a bowl of butter($ 10!!) and he said the steak was a little over cooked for his liking but still edible. Our server was a flake. She never came over to refill our drinks, she never gave us appetizer plates, and she put the appetizer on the table and just walked away. We listened to the table behind us complain about how she never brought their drinks too. We’re really not fussy people but she just sucked, to put it bluntly. Pretty sure we won’t be coming back for a long time, if at all.

The food, view and service was absolutely incredible!!! We took a boat trip from NY and stumbled upon this remarkable find. We sat on the roof top and we’re lucky enough to have Leslie as our waitress. Honestly one of if not the best waitresses and meals we have ever had. Management and staff were incredibly friendly and we would make the 3 hour commute just to eat here again! Must go!!!

I have eaten here before and it seems to me the food AND service gets worse every time. I was at The Edge on Friday and exactly 5 hours later I was deathly ill and spent my whole weekend sick as a dog! Ugh, never again will I so much as have a drink at this restaurant. No one seems to know their job or the first thing about customer service… I’ve gotten better service at a fast food burger joint…(true story)! I can’t believe this place is still open with how disorganized the wait staff is, not to mention how little they know about what’s even on the menu ! Management obviously cannot keep any staff because there is always an excuse for their bad service due to being«new»! Really? Lame! I think the Board of Health should pay a visit to this rapidly declining restaurant, just don’t eat the food… yuck!

I wish I could write a positive review, but I simply cannot. We were seated at table with no silverware or bread plates. We took some from the table next to us after the waitress(2nd day on the job) dropped the bread and dipping sauce. When we pointed out that we had taken settings from the next table, no apology just an acknowledgement that she had taken ours earlier on. Hubby and I ordered Beefeater martinis. Pretty good but very small — more on those later. We split a gorgonzola salad. It came without the walnuts and we had to point that out and get them on the side.(They would be the ever-popular ground-to-tiny bits walnuts that are barely recognizable and look like they came from the bottom of the bag.) The kitchen apologized for the oversight. On to the entrees — I got the«griiled» chicken Dijonnaise. Not grilled and no sight or taste of mustard either. The chicken was tough and salty… kinda like the chicken that comes in a McDonald’s sandwich. Blah! It was salty and like cardboard. The sauce was very sweet and thin. It did have mushrooms and prosciutto in it, but they really did save the day. No choice on the accompaniments — roasted red bliss potatoes and butternut squash. Both were clearly leftover from another day and were serve lukewarm. The potatoes reminded me of the home fries you get in a greasy spoon that have been on the grill all day. The only difference is that these had some rosemary sprinkled on them. All in all, a sub-par meal. For $ 17.99 I could have gone elsewhere and gotten something spectacular. Hubby got a pork osso bucco special. He said it was tasty but not remarkable. Again, served warm but not hot. $ 20.00. Eh. again — not worth the price. I asked for a wine list, but they could not provide one. They’re «re-doing» it. So the waitress ran back and forth from the bar to tell us what kind of reds and whites they served. Oh yeah — that always works well. I had two rather meager glasses of Kendall Jackson Chardonney. Hubby had a glass of the house red. And now the grand total — $ 93! Are you kidding? $ 8.50 for tiny martinis. $ 9.00 for the Kendall Jackson $ 5.00 for the house red. Of course, no wine or drink menu — I guess they love the element of surprise. Well, needless to say, it was our first and last visit. Over-priced, mediocre service, and sub-par food. It’s a trifecta of bad restaurant visits. I’d be shocked if this place stays in business. If they do, it will be because they have a bar near the waterfront, not because there’s anything even remotely resembling good food here.

I liked the renovations made to the former Davy’s Locker. The nice water thingy as you walk in the door, the bar that is now in the middle of the restaurant. The high tables. I think this will be a fun place to go to in the summer. Abner got an espresso martini. I got a pear martini that was a drink special. I got a pear cucumber one instead, so I had to send it back. However, they corrected the mistake and our server brought the correct drink right away, Drinks were just okay. The rolls and dipping oil was very good. We got the Portuguese Littlenecks that had a spicy sauce, little chunks of linguica with peppers. Very good. For entrees, Abner got the Soba noodle stir fry and had shrimp added to it. He said he liked it, but it was a bit on the salty side. I got the Chicken Dijonnaise, that came with roasted potatoes and green beans almondine. Although taste-wise, I liked my dish, it just seemed lukewarm to me. We decided to pass on the dessert, although they had several items to pick from. Service was good.

Nice atmosphere. Lovely view. The garlic shrimp appetizer was fabulous, nice rolls. The lobster mac & cheese was good. The fisherman’s platter was just ok. The service was fair — good.

Plainly, this place is horrendous. The staff is undertrained and the management cares more about drinking behind the bar then serving customers. The food is less than par, and the quality is not as fresh as they claim. Dirty, and the wait time to be served is unacceptable. Their parent restaurant Seafire is also just as poor. Would not be surprised to see both places fail. Will never go back
