The Mcoy Center for the Arts includes a theater offering a diverse range of «big name» performers. The venue is intimate, seating approximately 800. Honestly, most seats are very good. The front seating sections are reserved for season subscription holders. I have had the pleasure of seeing several performers here, including Chris Botti and Lyle Lovett. The center is probably about a 25 minute drive from downtown Columbus. There is a free parking lot on site. In the lobby you have an opportunity to buy wine or water to take in the theater during the show. BTW, great acoustics! Seeing a performance here is much better than any of the venues in Columbus, because it really feels up close and personal. Check out their event calendar for show listing and dates. I like that there are no opening acts. Also, don’t wait to get your tickets, several events sell out.

Hard to believe the center has been around for almost four years now, and this is the first time we have seen an event. It will be the beginning of a new love affair we’re sure! The McCoy is well located at Rt 62 and Old 161; near what they call downtown New Albany. Plenty of parking. They have it going on. We walked in to plenty of well dressed, good looking, and knowledgeable volunteers; of all shapes sizes and colors! They aimed to please. The main theater is beautiful; comfortable seats and excellent acoustics. The hard work put in to make the acoustics right has worked out really well. I am sure there is a healthy operating endowment and if you look at the donator board, it is stacked with recognizable names and corporations. Good for them to support this fantastic venue. You will not be disappointed; it is a welcome addition to the Columbus area scene. It may have taken us this long to visit for the first time, but not for our upcoming second time. We are now major fans!

This is a beautiful space for the performing Arts. Took my father to see the Fisk University Jubilee Singers. This is a historic group which started in the 1870s in order to raise funds to help Fisk University, a historic predominately black college in Tennessee. It was a great performance. The facility is a good size and is a host to many performing arts projects year round.
