Took whole family based on previous good experience with just me and my wife. Ordered two entrees, one kids meal, and one tapas for son with a extra side of rice. Side order of rice for my son comes out first. 10 minutes later I get my entrée — Cubano and rice. I wait for my wife and other son’s food… 5 minutes later my youngest son gets his kids meal. 10 minutes after that, my wife and other son finally get their food. By now mine is cold while I was waiting. They desperately need a kitchen management system.

This is as good as it gets in New Albany. Fresh, unique, diverse menu, good service, ample hours.

If you haven’t visited Habana Blues in New Albany, you are missing out! The staff is incredibly kind and accommodating. We visit this establishment often and the staff remembers my orders and know who we are when we call in to-go orders. Diana is amazing! She takes excellent care of her customers and always has a huge smile on her face when she is working. The restaurant offers salsa dancing lessons on some week nights, has a full bar and truly some of the best local food ive ever had. Everything is made fresh on site and is preservative free(to the best of my knowledge. This is important to me due to dietary restrictions). Each server really prides themselves in being the best they can be — I have seen some of them work with some heinous people, and turn their opinions around and make sure that they leave happy customers. Stop what you are doing and go visit Habana Blues now! You will not regret it!

Went with my wife and another couple and had the best time. We settled in for the evening and had some great drinks and even better food. Our server was fantastic and really gave us some fantastic tips. We were expecting a big bill because we tried a little bit of everything, but were surprised that the bill was still very manageable. So many great flavors… We will go back for sure.

I loved Havana Blues in their old location and I love them in their new location. They are one of the restaurants that know that I can consistently count on to serve good food, provide prompt friendly service, and to have a warm comfortable atmosphere. It’s a great place to meet a small group for dinner and drinks. The tapas are great and I’m always surprised at how cost effective they are, especially if you share many small plates among a group. I have found the staff to be extremely helpful in recommending Tapas, advising on level of spice, etc. But, if you don’t want to try the tapas, I also highly recommend the sandwiches, especially the Elena Ruth. They also have a pretty incredible selection of martinis, mojitos, sangria’s and they do sell some of their drinks by the pitcher. If you haven’t been to New Albany recently, this is definitely worth the trip.

Ate there last night. The best fish tacos in New Albany!!! Love Leo and what he has accomplished. The service was top notch. Go on in… you won’t be disappointed.

We had our wedding and reception here. Food was delicious(especially the lamb chops). Staff is really wonderful, friendly, and accommodating. Excellent cocktails(great mojitos as expected, but please try the cucumber and jalapeño margarita). The space is a remodeled bank building, complete with vault and safe deposit boxes. Highly recommended!

Let me start off by saying this one of my favorite restaurants and my two must go to places in New Albany are Israel’s Delicias De Mexico and Habana Blues Tapas Restaurant. Its a tie. On this evening I had Tuna a la Plancha, aka grilled Ahi tuna served with congris(their version of black beans and rice) & tostones(fried plantains). On draft was Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale, this was so smooth and the dinner had great taste. I could eat tuna every day. On a previous visit I had Sofrito Scallops, these may be the best scallops on the Indiana side of the river. My wife had Tostones Rellenos, aka 3 plantain cups stuffed with 1) ground beef 2) sea food 3) chicken along with parmesan cheese. And of course she loved this. This was my first visit since Habana Blues Tapas moved to the new location and I’m already looking forward to coming back. This building is much nicer and the service was spot on without being in the way… a very good balance.

Friendly servers, great food, nice atmosphere, what more could you want? This is my favorite Cuban restaurant in the greater Louisville area. The empanadas are flaky and delicious, mojitos… perfect every time.

This is my 5th or 6th time at this redstaurant and this is one of the worst restaurant experiences I’ve had. My waiter was Venessa and she was nice at the beginning. I ordered Grilled Tuna as my entrée, not the smaller version but the entrée. It came with no asparagus even though the menu said so. I asked Venessa and she said asparagus is mixed in with rice and took off. I picked up a menu to make sure, and a different guy asked anything wrong, and I told him what was going on. He started telling me the difference between the entrée and the smaller version. I asked which one has the asparagus and he started blabbering. I told him that they should serve what is presented in the menu. He walked away while throwing his hands in the air. After that a different lady came over and admitted they made a mistake and they would bring the asparagus out, and they did. Plate had three asparagus! :). Thank God I grow them in my back yard so I know how they look like. At the end I told Venessa that she should never lie to customers and she frowned at me and walked away. I did not leave a tip for Venessa. I think her bad attitude disqualify her to receive my gratitude. I was calm and composed the whole time so don’t try to pull the«angry customer looking for free mea“l thing either. I did pay the full amount $ 61.78 and walked out with my spouse disappointed. I’ll never ever go there.

New location on Pearl Street in New Albany is a vast improvement over the Market Street location. Clean, spacious, great décor. The food preparation, presentation, taste and variety all remain excellent, with wonderful offerings in both the tapas and dinner portions. My wife and I love this place and recommend it highly. Staff is friendly and helpful, service is prompt and efficient, our favorite restaurant in New Albany.

Once again I do not like to give bad reviews but on Thursday we had a bad experience at habana blues. Recently I had just declared this place as one of our favorite restaurants in the area but after our experience Thursday I’m not sure I will visit again. I ordered the steak which is a filet type steak. Last time I had it, it was excellent. This time I ordered medium and it came to me beef jerky well done. Wife ordered tuna rare and it too came back medium well and smelled horrible. We requested to the young inexperienced waitress to send food back and she said she would have to get the manager to approve it! Manager took our new order… Wife got grouper which was good and I got another steak which was once again over cooked. Manager did not offer to reduce tab or give us a discount. I was very disappointed. Not sure we will return based on this unfortunate experience.

Never a disappointment. Everything I’ve ever had here was delicious. Service is very friendly and excellent. The guacamole with thinly sliced, fried, crispy plantains is absolutely delicious, as is the hummus. The grilled grouper sandwich is delicious as are the mahi mahi and grouper tacos. If you can drink Mojitos, don’t miss them here. They come with a stick of sugar cane in them and are absolutely the best Mojito I’ve had anywhere.

After being seated we waited about 15 minutes for our server. She dropped off two waters and then never returned. She passed us multiple times, all while we’re trying to get her attention, took orders for tables around us but never came back to us. After being there a total of 40 minutes and receiving nothing but water, we left. On top of everything, the live band playing was super loud and overall awful. We do not plan on ever going back.

I was down in the New Albany area earlier this year with some friends and was talking about this awesome Cuban place that I had found, and almost cried a little when I saw that they were closed, so we had to find another place to eat. Again, a huge disappointment. I had another group trip scheduled this past weekend for a wine trail, and while doing research on our route and places to stop, I knew that we would be hitting New Albany around lunchtime and I needed to find a place. I was pleasantly surprised to see that Habana Blues was open once again, and they were right across from the River City Winery — which was one of our stops. Talk about a no brainer on where we were going to eat! Our of my group of 7, I think everyone except two people got the Cuban Sandwich. Yeah, we’re not very exciting, I know. Had we been there for dinner, I would have gotten something different, but you just can’t beat a Cuban Sandwich for a delicious lunch, right? It was prepared perfectly. just the right amount of pickle and mustard and a nice crunch to the bread. Seriously, delicious! The new place has a lot of character and is much bigger than the last place they occupied. New Albany is lucky to have such a great place, and this one is back on my bookmark list and will be on my list to recommend to anyone in the area.

I went to them last year when I was in town at their old location and really enjoyed but I have to say the new location is very different. I love the outside seating, very relaxing and it’s near a «park» area that has live music on occasion. Staff was friendly and attentive. Food always great with enough vegetarian options for me to work with… the mojitos… very good almost as good as the ones I had in Miami. which is certainly a surprise for southern Indiana.

Great food, exceptional service, good price. To begin ask for Alin as your waiter. Next try the Tres en Uno lunch menu: choice of ½ sandwich &2 sides. Photo: ½ Cuban, sweet potato fries & Havana Blue Salad. Wonderful desert in the Tres Leches cake. Quaint atmosphere and moving music. Ask about history of the 1951 Plymouth 4dr sedan, 50 gallon drums, and vault safe in the restaurant. Nice closed area for private party. Am a 26 year world traveler; Resturant ranks in my top 10. Not family member; just very happy customer from KY.
