Courtyard Columbus New Albany

We stated here because of a funeral in nearby Johnstown. This hotel just opened a couple of months ago. It has no competition for ~10 miles, and their base prices reflect it. They run $ 150 and up even on the weekends. When we suggested that we get some group rates set up because we knew we could get them some business, all they would do was tell me to see the group sales manager in the morning. I saw no reason to try to get minimum contracts set up, so we passed on the idea. It’s too bad for them, several people opted for lower prices hotels elsewhere.
The hotel itself was fine. Since it was new, there were no issues with the room or service — everything there was fine.
Stay here for business, but I wouldn’t recommend a personal stay unless you can get a better rate or until they get competition.
