‘Collective for Women’ is the periodical publication from the same group that publishes ‘The Women’s Book’ which highlights directories of local women leaders and resources. It is published 3 times a year(March, June, and December) and is free. A friend picked it up at the Cup O’Joe in the Short North and passed along a copy to me to look over. I think that it has a lot of potential as a niche publication here in Columbus and does a good job of blending regular citizen voices and those of the more ‘Columbus Celebrity’ types. The cover of the most recent issue has Cheryl Boyce(Executive Director of the Ohio Commission on Minority Health), Andrea Cambern(Channel 10 Anchor), and Dr Theresa Long(Columbus Health Commissioner) but it also includes a dialogue on health featuring every day citizens. Because this is the 1st edition of this magazine, there are still a few growing pains to work through but I would like to see the magazine grow and really become a resource for women in Columbus.
