«Where to even being thanking this man! Three days (I repeat three days) before our wedding we were contacted by our coordinator via text message she would no longer be able to help out with our wedding. Myself and my groom broke down in complete stress not knowing where to being. We called Greg in tears reaching out to him about our issue and he not only calmed us down, he made sure he did not hang that phone up until I felt 110% better. Greg plans with you and communicates with you like you aren’t just a client. He talks to you like you are his own child getting married. He stepped up three days before as our coordinator and made sure our dream day would occur. He made sure we were where we needed to be, that we always had a drink in hand, and that our reception would be an epic dance party. But more importanly he reminded me throuhg out the night to breath and take it all in. He is not only a DJ, he is your friend helping make sure your wedding is memorable. He lived up 100% to his promises. I will always remember the amazing talent and kind DJ we had to make the biggest day of my life the best day of my life.

My wife and I had the pleasure of having Greg and his staff DJ, emcee, videotape, and even coordinate our wedding at the North Star House in Grass Valley in September.
In every interaction we had with Greg, he was prompt, responsive, and extremely knowledgeable. He even catered to our preferred method of communication — when we were at work, he was able to communicate with us by email/​text, and when we were home, he was available by phone.
Based on our personalities, Greg was also able to conceptualize a wedding style that worked for us. He was patient in explaining every aspect of the event from beginning to end, and was an expert, after he learned our styles and preferences, at selecting the right songs for the the right mood.
Through his years of wedding work, he is able to effectively read the crowd, and can handle stressful situations (he dealt with an angry venue owner who had unreasonable last-​minute demands). He also has a knack for making any situation fun, and it is for these reasons that we, without any hesitation, highly recommend Greg and Mountain Event Productions for any DJing, videography, or emceeing needs.

I had the pleasure of having Greg dj and coordinate my wedding. He was awesome. The players to was great, the energy was even better. It really made the wedding so fun, everyone danced and kept telling me how wonderful the dj was, thanks for making my special day amazing!

We just got married in June and couldn’t be happier with Greg as our DJ. Everything Greg did the day of our wedding was over the top wonderful. Leading up to our wedding day he was prompt and responded quickly. You can just tell he genuinely loves doing this for a living and wants your day to go as smooth and perfect as it possibly can. Not only does he DJ he also was the day of coordinator. He worked with all the vendors to make sure we stayed on the time schedule and everything transitioned smoothly. His son helps him and he is such a sweetheart and did an amazing job on our wedding video. I mean AMAZING.
I have to say that our most favorite thing about Greg is how much he had EVERYONE involved the entire time and really just made our reception a blast. I mean people are still talking about how much fun they had and that our DJ was awesome. It breaks my heart that Angela A. wrote those things about him because he couldn’t be farther from what she described. Trust me if you choose Greg as your DJ you will NOT be disappointed!!!

My husband and I recently were married and hired mountain event production as our DJ service. As a bride your looking for everything to take off without a glitch. I can say working with this company was so easy and they were willing to do whatever we needed. Matt was our DJ and he made the planning and the day amazing. We did have a rain glitch for 30 min or so but Matt did what he needed to keep the music playing and the party going. Matt did whatever we asked and worked with our guest as they made some silly request. I would hire them in a heart beat for any up coming events. Thank you so much for making our day so special!

My husband and I were married at the Harmony Ridge Lodge in Nevada City and Greg came recommended by the lodge. What a surprise gift! When we first met Greg, he put us at ease by letting us know that in addition to being a DJ, he would also be our «day of» coordinator. Since I didn’t have a wedding planner, I was concerned about how the details would unfold on that day. Greg was magnificent! We met with him in person only a few months before our wedding and explained that we were somewhat non-​traditional and therefore we didn’t want any «cheesy» wedding songs or traditions. Greg worked with us to design a reception that felt good to us. In addition, Greg’s son filmed all of the video for our wedding and the two of them produced a beautiful video for us. The drone shots that were used to capture aerial views of our wedding were really incredible. They are some of my favorite shots in our video. Greg was a combination of both energetic and lively (when needed) and also understated, when we wanted to take center stage. Greg was so professional and knew exactly what to do for the entire reception. I didn’t even have to worry about things like when to do the cake. It all just unfolded naturally, with Greg’s expertise. As a bonus, Greg referred me to an amazing hairstylist a mere 2 months before my wedding. It felt so good to have everyone connected and in one place. I would highly highly recommend Greg for any wedding DJ service. He truly goes WAY above and beyond the service that is truly provided for by a DJ. He is truly an event coordinator. Thank you Greg for making our wedding run so smoothly! My husband and I worked with Matt for our wedding day, and he really came through for us. We had a friend’s band performing acoustics for our ceremony, and some more of their music at our cocktail hour. Our wedding was on a rural property, which required all of the speakers, lights, microphones, and electricity. We met with Matt several months before the big day, giving him our vision and going over all of the details, and then he was there the day before our wedding as well. He met with our musicians and went over all of the last minute instructions with our planner. The day of, everything went perfectly! He played all of the music we requested, he even provided a projector and screen to play a surprise slide show my husband had planned for me! Very fun :) I had been a little reserved after reading some previous reviews in the beginning, but we really feel that Matt and Mountain Event Productions went above and beyond for us, following our details closely, and made our day come together very smoothly and professionally. We would absolutely use them again and would recommend them to anyone in the area!

My husband and I had Greg from Mountain Event Productions DJ our wedding and it was a wonderful experience! First off, Greg holds a consultation with each couple he works with to really understand what they are looking for on their special day. This was vital because we had no idea the amount of detail that goes into planning just the ceremony, let alone the cocktail hour and reception. Greg is very adamant that the bride and groom truly enjoy their wedding day by letting all of their stress go and just allowing his group run the event smoothly. And they absolutely did! The ceremony was beautiful, the cocktail hour was lovely (from what I heard, we were actually taking pictures at the time) and the dance floor was constantly packed. Greg carefully thinks about how different parts of the wedding will flow into one-​another. It made everything seamless and there wasn’t any of that dreaded «dead space.» As a nice touch, Greg provided us with a CD filled with all of the songs we had requested, just so we could replay them and remember the special night. I would recommend Greg and Mountain event productions for any of your upcoming events!

I am a wedding planner in Nevada county and I have worked with Greg and mountain event production djs multiple times now. He is my go to DJ. Not only is he professional and offers amazing packages, he does what YOU want. Each wedding is personalized.
He also goes above and beyond to keep things running smooth. We’ve had our fair share of «wedding mishaps» and he helps me do my job to keep it running smooth and so that nobody knows there were any issues.
I also hired greg to dj our wedding in February. Being a planner, I did EVERYTHING myself and wouldn’t have it any other way. Wedding rehearsal came and was chaotic… as it can be chaotic and usually I am the one to organize and run it. (This can be difficult when being the bride) Greg offered to run the rehearsal so that I could relax and enjoy. It made it go so smooth and I was able to focus on my job of getting married.
Come the day of the wedding, Greg did everything. He lined all the bridal party up and made sure they were in order. He made the ceremony goes as smooth as I could of imagined. He also helped when our photographer was a little overwhelmed during photos. He made sure I could enjoy my wedding day by doing my (as a coordinator) job!
He also as a surprise played back our wedding vows during a slow dance song which was perfection!
He went over and beyond what we hired him to do and didn’t even hesitate when it needed done. I will always recommend Mountain Event productions to every bride and will hopefully be working along side him much more in the future.

Greg was our DJ for our wedding in Nevada city in October and we couldn’t have had it better! He handled all our coordinating that day and even came to our rehearsal and coordinated that for us! Our guests still tell us how much they loved the music selection and Gregs energy kept the party going and the guests dancing. We also purchased the wedding video package which is was well worth the extra money. With how crazy the day was it was hard to remember everything and watching the video was a nice refresher of the entire day and we got to relive the best day of our lives as well as sharing it with all the family that could not make it. We highly recommend Greg for your wedding day or any event you may have! Thank you for everything!!!

We hired Greg for our wedding on July 13, 2014 at Empire Mine State Park. Immediately after meeting with him we knew we were well taken care of! He knew the venue so well, and walked us through every detail. He responded very quickly to all of my e-​mail inquiries, and made sure all of our requests were met. When our guests decided to move from the cocktail hour to the dining area before they were supposed to– Greg was right there to improvise the bridal party announcement. He kept everyone dancing the entire night, and really worked off of what the crown was loving. He was absolutely fantastic to work with, and made it his top priority that our day was perfect!

My husband and I got married in Nevada City a little over two years ago. Greg was the DJ at our wedding and did an amazing job! I was really concerned about ending up with a cheesy DJ who played all the standard boring wedding songs. Greg was the exact opposite and was perfect!!! He had such a great way of moving the reception along in a timely manner and he got EVERYONE out on the dance floor! He even took a recording of my husband’s wedding vows, put them to music and played it during our reception! It was so special and made a perfect day even better! His energy was so positive and we couldn’t have asked for a better man to help make our wedding day as perfect as it was.
When our close friends were recently planning their wedding they asked us about our DJ and we praised Greg and said we wouldn’t recommend anyone else. They said they remembered how great he was at our wedding and chose to have Greg be their DJ as well. Their wedding was last night and Greg was just as great, if not better!!! He kept the energy up all night and made sure all the guests had a wonderful time! He made sure everyone felt included, and even updated the guests on the score of the Giants game! To top it off my husband and I mentioned we would love a copy of the wedding vows/​song he created at our wedding and arranged a way to get us a copy!
Greg was wonderful… From his upbeat and warm attitude, to his amazing abilities to read the crowd and pick the right music, and to his son who does a great job creating a lasting memory on video of the wedding. I recommend him to all my friends and family!

Greg did an amazing job for us at our wedding last Friday. He managed our 3 locations each with sound smoothly and with perfect music for our friends and family. Greg was also super helpful the day before at our rehearsal to help our large wedding party coordinate our timing with ease and grace for the real thing the next day. He was super easy to work with and incredibly flexible with our music additions and last minute changes right through the ceremony. We were really happy with the way Greg managed the dance music to get our guests out on the dance floor while also providing the space for all of the activities slideshows, cake cutting, bouquet toss… We were really stoked at the whole magical event, thank you Greg!!!

I just read Angela A’s review and felt the need to add a little something to my earlier review — Greg is a stand up guy, extremely professional, very kind and awesome at what he does. When someone writes such a terrible, hurtful review that is clearly full of untruths it can unfortunately really affect someone’s business and reputation. Its not fair and I feel the need to make sure everyone knows that her review is the farthest from accurate about Greg/​Mountain Event Productions. I really hope that anyone reading these reviews looking for a DJ to hire can see through the one negative and totally false review (there’s always that one person, right!?) and know without a doubt that Greg is going to make your event the event of a lifetime. He is absolutely the best of the best!

We chose Greg to DJ our wedding in Auburn, CA. It was easy to work with him and he is very enthusiastic. There was a mix-​up with e-​mails at one point regarding where we would meet for a meeting. It wasn’t a big deal, but he had confirmed the time and meeting place over e-​mail, but forgot he had done so. We both ended up in two different places, my fiancé and I in the place we had agreed upon in e-​mail and Greg at another location. Thankfully we could still meet with him that day, but we had to drive to him.
The day before the wedding, I called Greg to see if we could book the video, so he and his son are definitely very flexible. Though, somehow he already had it in his notes that we wanted a video, which we had never confirmed. He also asked questions about the ceremony and reception, though we had already had the conversation at a previous meeting and in e-​mails. There were just enough small hiccups that made me wonder if he was fully prepared. In the end, Greg did a great job with the ceremony and reception. Other than at the very start of the ceremony, the mics worked very well and everyone could hear what was being said.
As the bridal party was lining up to be announced into the reception, there was some confusion for Greg regarding the line-​up, even though we outlined who would be walking together. I am not sure why this happened, but my husband was able to help sort things out. The reception ran very smoothly and he played the songs we wanted for the most part. I specifically told him not to play slow songs, but he started the dancing with two slow songs. This was quickly fixed once I told him to not play anymore. We also asked him to play music in the order of generations (50s, 60s, 70s, etc.). This didn’t really happen, but he played songs we liked, so it was fine in the end. I just worried the older folks didn’t feel a part of the dancing as much, though many still joined in.
We ordered the video option. It is awesome to know we have a video of our day and we can always watch it again and again. It turned out a little differently than we anticipated in terms of length (it’s over an hour), so we may shorten it ourselves in some way if possible. The use of the drone was a great addition. I would say if you want someone to document your day, this is a great option and is very affordable compared to most videographers. But it isn’t going to be creatively cut and there are times when the video is a little shaky.
Overall, Greg and his son did a pretty good job. There was some hiccups along the way, but really nothing major. Both Greg and his son were pleasant and friendly. Greg is also very reasonably priced.

We hired Greg for our wedding in Nevada City. Having little experience working with DJs or planning events, it was great to have him as a resource. You don’t realize all the little details that go into a perfect day, but he knew exactly what to do and when to do it. Despite our lazy approach to planning he was able to coax us along and helped us make important decisions we would have otherwise been clueless about. Prior to the wedding we met with him at his home studio to go over song selection and get a better understanding of how the day would progress.
He took a role that encompassed more than just a DJ — he was the overall MC of the wedding, ushering guests where the needed to be at the right time. He attached microphones to us, which allowed all the guests to hear the vows perfectly. When the time came to hit the dance floor, he put his plan in place and sure enough everyone scuttled over to boogie down. We gave him a large selection of songs and he used his judgement to choose the best ones from our list, keeping everyone young and old grooving into the evening.
It’s also worth mentioning that his son recorded the entire event and produced a wedding movie for just a few bucks extra.
If you’re like me, you don’t hire a DJ very often. When you do hire one, the last thing you want is something out of The Wedding Singer. He has a great energy without being overbearing, and knows what he’s doing for sure. Can’t think of a single complaint and I’d highly recommend him for any event.

I heard about Greg through another vendor of our wedding, and I am so glad for that recommendation. Greg was not only helpful with the music selection for the ceremony (I had no idea what to play) but he was accommodating with all my requests. For example I wanted to be sure everyone could hear the ceremony, he provided mikes for my officiant, a lapel mike for my husband that picked up both him and myself and a mike for the guitar player that played during. Greg also recommended the officiant of my wedding (she was perfect).
At the reception Greg introduced my wedding party and us to all all our guests and played perfect, low key music while dinner was being served. After the formal dances were finished he got everyone dancing and having a good time which was really what we wanted. He also made sure that I got pictures of things like the garter and bouquet tosses and cake cutting, if he hadn’t reminded me the photographers would have left before I even remembered any of it!
I would and will recommend Mountain Event Productions to friends for their big days. I was more than happy with his services and he helped to make our day truly perfect.

Let me tell you about Greg. Wait, I can’t. Because words cannot describe how PERFECT he made our wedding! From the moment we met Greg, he made everything perfect! He met with us throughout the year, was very good about replying to emails quickly, made sure EVERY moment was absolutely a dream.
He even came Friday night to our rehearsal to run everything and to get us set up for perfection the next day.
We had so much fun at our wedding. And EVERY SINGLE PERSON could not stop gushing about Greg and his son. His music selection was spot on! He asked us for songs we wanted to hear and we heard every single one.
Our wedding day was perfect, and it would not have been without Greg as our DJ.
If you want a so-​so wedding, one that’s not memorable, then you can just stop reading. But if you want your wedding to be PERFECT (and most importantly, your wife’s dream come true) then IMMEDIATELY stop reading and call Greg and Mountain Event Productions RIGHT NOW!

I have had to step back and think about what happened on the day of my wedding and the meetings with Mountain Event Productions leading up to that day. At first things seemed like a dream come true-​Greg was very friendly and seemingly professional about how he would handle our wedding ceremony and reception. At that meeting, we sent him three playlists we had come up with that included songs for our ceremony, including the prelude, the cocktail hour, and the dancing hours. He looked them over in our presence and said he would be sure to take care of everything, and if there was a song he did not have he would let us know and we could send him our personal MP3 copy. He also agreed (for an additional fee, of course) to coordinate our rehearsal two days prior to the wedding, so everything would run smoothly and the wedding party would be familiar with their cues. AWESOME, right? Well, from there, things went terribly wrong.
The Monday before my wedding Greg called me to ask that I re-​send the specifics for the ceremony and reception, and also to remind me of the rehearsal on Thursday. Fantastic! I sent off his requested emails and heard NOTHING back, so I assumed all was well and it was going to be smooth sailing.
NOPE.
Everyone in my wedding party was at the venue on time Thursday afternoon for the rehearsal. Turns out that Greg completely forgot about our rehearsal and showed up an hour late (after we had to track him down) with no apologies, yelled at my mom, was rude to my wedding party, and rushed off after a 30 minute «consultation».
The day of the wedding he COMPLETELY RUINED my ceremony by having faulty equipment-​the mic kept cutting our and no one could hear our officiant or readers-​the mic feedback hurt everyone’s ears and no one heard what was said. His «assistant» came out in a grubby shirt waving his arms at our officiant and it was an absolute embarrassment. If it wasn’t for our videographers putting a mic on my husband, we wouldn’t have ANY record of our ceremony at all. When we finally went to join our guests for cocktails I found he didn’t play a single song on the playlist I sent him, but played five songs on a loop, and when dinner was going on his «assistant» sat in a guest’s chair and took his dinner seat-​how on earth is this acceptable??? After dinner, Greg proceeded to argue with me about what the order of the evening was to be-​first claiming that «well you said you wanted to take this and/​or that part out», (newsflash-​I never said such thing) and then when my husband and I showed him the emails we sent (thank goodness for smartphones) he backpedaled and claimed he never got our emails with the song requests. I had several reports that he made lewd comments and was even drinking alcohol while on the clock. Absolutely unprofessional.
All in all I would not recommend this business. I received NO apology for the complete failure of equipment during my ceremony, and it’s incredibly unprofessional to LIE and tell your bride that she is wrong and then ignore her when you are called out on a LIE. I have noticed that Greg has commented on this review, so I am reaching out to anyone who would like to see an actual «demo» of his «great work» a free look at my raw, unedited wedding video and the sound quality he provided. Please send me a PM and I will happily show you how horrible my ceremony was. I could have done better with my own smartphone and borrowed speakers, and none of my guests would have been insulted. Hire at your own risk, this business is NOT worth the money-​you couldn’t pay me to work with this business again.

My husband and I had Greg as the D J last weekend for our wedding in Grass Valley. We had a relatively diverse crowd as far as age and music tastes go and everyone danced and everyone was happy.
We came up from the Bay Area and Greg was nice enough to meet with us the day before the wedding at the venue (we had met there once before) just to calm my nerves and assure us as to how things would go. He also served as the master of ceremonies, keeping with the schedule that I basically forgot about!
He was very professional and I would use him again.
