Calla Lily Crepes

Pros: Yummy food made to order right in front of you. Interesting menu of «meal» crepes and desert. Unexpectedly cool funky atmosphere + the 2 cool guys running it. Nice that for such a tiny place they take plastic. Fresh ingredients, many of which are organic, and nitrite/​nitrate free meats. Resonably priced for the quality. Open late!
Cons: The only thing I found dissapoingting were the actual crepes; they are NOT made on the griddle as you order. They are stacked already made :(To be honest, they were tough and chewy-​definitely not like real crepes. Kind of like the difference between a sandwich on fresh bread vs. on the stale side.
This was very disapointing as real crepes are most often made to order with the batter right there and poured on the griddle, cooked just long enough to add the fillings and complete the cooking process… Much tastier, fresher, thinner and lighter — a more dleicate texture and mouth feel that melds better with whatever is inside your crêpe.
Perhaps they might consider changing this?
But still deliscious and worth it!

the food is very good, and the late hours are really great, but every time i buy a (veggie or vegan) crêpe it ends up being $ 12 – 14 plus tip. thats pretty steep for street food. plus the wraps are pre-​made, so theyve been sitting and arent fluffy like they should be. you can get an excellent crêpe streetside in ant city for half that price as well.

Decent little crêpe place in the historical district of Nevada City. The kitchen is in a tent and they have some chairs and tables outside. It is almost like street food. They have good options for vegans and vegetarians but the eggless crêpe didn’t taste all that great. I could eat it again, but only if I didn’t have other preferred options.

A simple, straightforward crêpe place. We stop every time we’re in Nevada City, which is about once a year, since we’re from North Carolina. The crepes are every bit as good and fresh as the ones you get in Paris, and the prices are reasonable. There are a couple of tables and a great atmosphere. One really couldn’t ask for more.

I love these crepes! I’m so happy that there is a crêpe place in this town and they are really good too! I would give them five stars but they failed me today. Went to get myself some tasty crepes but here it was nearly noon and they weren’t even open yet. I’m not sure if it was just who was working today as this has been my only experience that way. Alas I will go without my crêpe today.

Really tasty crepes, they’re open late on weekends, plus they’ll deliver to bars in downtown Nevada City. I liked their old name: Elevensies Crepes.

Service was good, people were nice and the food was fast and amazing. I got the Fictional Alcoholic and it was a good size and very fresh.

Crepes were good for street food. I’ve been twice for lunch and both cooks were nice. It’s nothing fancy but fairly good quick food. They could maybe punch up the flavors just a bit.

I was in last night after a night out with friends. I have never felt so disrespected in my life. I come in order with a few friends ahead of me, they all get there crepes I’m still waiting 15 mins later I say hey do u think I can get my creepe. He says you have to wait your turn. Well sir at this point I’ve waited my turn and more. So I don’t say anything another 5 minutes passes by. Still no creepe. The man behind the counter starts freaking out slamming things screeming there’s no way that u could get out of l order it’s not possible. The man next to him lets him know yes I did order before them and In fact mine was to be made before the others. He then proceeds to scream and slam things then stating he dose not know the order and can not control that?! Um excuse me u just told me THERES NO WAY THAT I CAN GET OUT OF ORDER… Then he starts making my food with him and the other employee screaming at eachother at this point. Burns my food on purpose the other man is telling him that’s more than done he says no it’s not rips it off the grill and says she can eat it raw! He hands it to me and tells me to move along!!! All while the employess are screaming profianties at eachother and the man is saying your fired! I will never return and will let all my friends know not to either… They treat everyone as if there hammered drunk. I was completely sober and completly disrespected!!! I wouldn’t recomend going there!!! Worst part it’s the OWNER!!! Stay away if I were you!!!

I am only giving this place 2 stars because they are open late. Otherwise they would get 1 star from me. I used to love the crepes from the previous incarnation, Elevensies, but this place is an overpriced disappointment all around. Let me preface my review by saying that I live in Nevada City and have visited Calla Lily at least 10 times since the change in ownership. Every time I have been disappointed and vowed not to go back.
First, don’t go here if you are a vegetarian. They have one crêpe that is veg, and it is called the «lazy vegetarian». And it tastes like it sounds: lazy, poorly conceived; an inconvenient after thought. Who puts large potato wedges on a delicate crêpe? People who make rubbery, poorly executed crepes, that’s who!
Next, the ingredients. They taste and look as though they are from a can. Everything on the menu you could probably find in an almost expired can in your cupboard. Not one particularly original or freshly made ingredient in the menu.
Oh and how about that service? The folks who worked the Elevensies stand were always smiling, friendly, and up for some casual conversation. Even if the food took a while, they made it ok with excellent customer service. In stark contrast, these employees seem to be uptight, nervous, and unwilling to help out at all. I have had my crepes forgotten about on multiple occasions, and when asked the employee making the food would become agitated and upset with me for politely pointing out that I had been waiting for quite some time. They won’t make eye contact or return a smile. I don’t get it, and I imagine it comes from the top down, but it is quite disconcerting in a small town food stand.
Don’t waste your money. Go down to Nourish, 3 Forks, or Nevada City Eats for some fresh, decent food with much better service.

Uh, its sunday at 3:15 and we make a special trip up to get crepes and its CLOSED. So lame!!!

You stumble out of McGee’s at closing time. You’re hungry and Nevada City has no fast food. So what do you do? Head across the street to Calla Lily Crepes, of course!
Although, not listed on their online menu, I am a die hard fan of their pizza crêpe. How much better can it get than marinara, pepperoni, spinach, and cheese all wrapped up in a warm crêpe?
Crepes can take a while to get made for you, but it’s definitely worth the wait. They stay open later on Friday and Saturday nights to obviously gain the business from all us bar goers.
The employees can have sort of a short attitude with you, but since you’re pretty much in and out of there (not much room to hang out), it doesn’t totally distract from the experience (or make the food any less delicious).

Sweet easy spot in downtown Nevada City offering gluten free crepes ! And organic free range chicken. Sweet & savory crepes. Outside seating and affordable. Highly recommend !

Decent crêpe (Chicken Pesto) and reasonably fast but ridiculously hostile and rude service. Went here about 10:30 PM last Saturday night and I think the order taker with the dreadlocks piled high and tight under his cap must have had some personal problems going on because he seemed obviously more than annoyed to have to take my order, to the point where his eyes were seriously bugging out hatefully. He was otherwise very occupied sitting down behind the counter focused on his cellphone with matters more important to him than the customers and then took off to go do something across the street, leaving the somewhat nicer fellow preparing the crepes for those waiting. After giving a couple of crepes to different people waiting, another person who’d been waiting asked if his was ready yet because he’d ordered before the others who had gotten their crepes already. The cook said it was ready and sitting there for a while, handed it to the man then apologized saying it was his fault because he hadn’t remembered to tell him when it was up but that he hoped he’d enjoy it. Then to the people who sat down to wait at a table there, he added, «hope he likes it because if he doesn’t, well he can go elsewhere.» Just appalling. I liked the fresh ingredients in the crêpe but not even counting the horrible service and that it is at a street stand, it was highly overpriced and overrated at $ 10.

These guys are such douche baggery it’s not even funny. I’ve only experienced the late night crêpe sensation, and while the 1 am munchies hit the expensive spot, the elite spiritual hippy we love everyone except you vibe is so unappealing, that I only show up to prove myself correct. Total douche bags, wearing the Sikh turban and flower of life shirt and blasting the reggae. .you think they’re cool until you realize they only feel sorry for you not ascending to the 5^th dimension. It’s a fucking crepes tent, You’re open till 3 am, roll with it. Honest, if this was not the only place open at this time, I’d never ever give them my biz. I’m standing here, waiting for my crêpe, the guy in the black turban and dreadlocks glaring at me says «I hope we don’t get any more customers tonight».then proceeds to correct me on my pronunciation if the word Gyro (I suggested gyro crepes would be rocking), and it’s not ad if I don’t know how to say Gyro, I apparently didn’t roll my tounge correctly. 2 stars for the $ 12 crepes, they’re tasty, 0 stars for the hippiecrits working the late shift. .they’re tasteless. Oh, I waited t ok write this review until my 2^nd visit, hoping I was wrong… i wasnt. Douche bro all the way

Charlie and Saragh serve up some delicious late night crêpe action. local, organic, sweet, savory, they do it all. highly recommended.

The crepes are tasty and the service is friendly, what more could a hungry person ask for? Oh, and they also serve gluten free crepes! Callalily Crepes is conveniently located in downtown Nevada City. They are one of the only (if not THE only) place to get late night eats.

found this place just walkin around historical Nevada city. the entire area is really cute and this street vendor fits right in. the wonderful aroma caught my senses and decided to stop to check out menu. the menu listings looked pretty good, so i ended up ordering a chicken pesto crêpe. well… it wasn’t what i was expecting. instead of making the crêpe fresh from a batter, they had pre made crepes ready to heat on the griddle. their ingredients don’t seem to be fresh… my chicken, came out of a can, and im pretty sure the pesto was store bought from somewhere. it was a nine dollar crêpe, and something i could have made at home easily enough. it wasn’t terrible by any means… just wasn’t an authentic fresh crêpe is all. but the lady working there was super nice… and well its convenient.

yuck. I was expecting something great after hearing about their predecessors (elevensies crepes), but it was a huge disappointment. Crepes tasted like they had been made days before (turned out they had). They were chewy, gummy and dry. Nothing like a REAL crêpe. This was a total disaappointment.
