Terimore Lodging by the Sea

35 years ago my wife and I honeymooned on a beach front hotel in California. Last night driving around with no expectations or reservations we stumbled on Terimore. We stayed in room 22 with a private balcony and ocean view, with the slider open listening to the sound of the waves. Another beautiful memory to cherish.
The room was clean, nice laminate floor, and all the normal amenities of a good motel. It isn’t the Ritz or Hilton, but neither are we. My wife has chemical sensitivities but did not notice any difficulties from cleaners, soaps, room deodorizers and the like.
It is a quiet place. We walked on the beach after getting here and the cove protects from the biting wind. Very pleasant. Since the number of stars reflects customer satisfaction, the only reason it isn’t five is that my wife found the bed too soft.

It’s a solid-​enough four stars for sure, but even at that you have to think for a second about what it is you want for your ****. For me, being right on the beach and hearing the waves breaking from the balcony – and from bed in the morning – made it what it is.
The pros:
Location and view. Right above the beach.
Balcony with table and chairs overlooking the breakers
Affordable enough ($ 109 total in early spring for a queen room)
Clean enough
All the basics are there – coffee, TV, all that
The cons:
Bed like a trampoline, very old mattress
Just a queen bed (I think other suites offer larger)
Tiny bathroom
Weak shower pressure
The place does not look fancy, inside or out. It’s just a motel from the exterior; inside it’s trying to be a bit more livable but the décor is from at least 25 years ago. Even I can tell that, and I have no style at all. But the price is good, and the staff is very friendly. They have flat screens in every room, and a full whack of DVDs available in the office. There’s a Pepsi machine.
Bottom line, you’re here for salt air and seaside R&R. You’re not here for any degree of pampering. There’s a trail down to the beach, and there’s fresh seafood for sale just up the street. I’d happily stay here again, though I’m also prone to look for something with a slightly nicer bed. Your mileage may vary.

We shared a house there, «Sue’s Place,» with two other couples. It’s comfortable, has a great view, and homey accommodations. Sue’s Place is a recently renovated two story house. There were only a couple of drawbacks in the place. One of the blinds facing the ocean was broken, so you couldn’t raise it out of the way of the view, nor could you adjust it to make it easier to see through. The other was that there’s only one thermostat on the main (upper) floor and it was impossible to get the downstairs bedrooms at the same temperature as the upstairs. Other than these minor issues, very nice.

We’ve been staying here for decades. A short hike to the beach; helpful, personable staff; nice clean rooms — at a very reasonable price!

Check out units 21 thru 28 in particular. They are newly remodeled — small and not fancy but neat and clean and affordable. The comments about units being ‘worn’ do not apply to these. But the real selling point is that these units have individual roofed decks with killer views of Netarts Bay, the ocean, and the end of Netarts Spit. There is a path down to the sandy beach on the Bay and a nice new common patio with the same view.

I was told I had a ocean view… if I could see through the units in front of me that may have been true.

Older motel but if you don’t have Ritzy expectations, you will be quite pleased with this little place. A little bit worn, but very clean and pet friendly. Reasonably priced. There is a market with all kinds of snacks and drinks next door, as well as a good coffee shop across the street. Easy beach access but a little steep down the stairs. Patio out back is newer and a nice sitting area with a BBQ. A suggestion? Put a fire pit out there! Would have loved to roast a few marshmallows while we watched the sunset.

So we didn’t actually stay the night. We had a reservation but our dog got sick from drinking too much seawater in the afternoon and we didn’t want to risk having a sick dog in such a clean room. They were amazing and gave us a refund on our room charges. Aside from that, the room had been recently remodeled and looked great with a good view. It’s a small motel sized room but had all the important amenities. Very friendly management and staff. I had no problems with the stairs down to the beach but I can see how the last step is a big one for anyone with mobility issues. There’s a nice small-​town deli a block away.

Not fancy but a great place to stay for an affordable price! The view is of the bay and the ocean. Very clean!
Bring a few things with you though: a coffee maker, cups, silverware, paper plates, paper towels etc to compliment the microwave.

We were looking for a place to stay during a trip down the Oregon coast and stumbled on this inn. Expedia said it was all booked but we found the hotel website on Unilocal and it had plenty of rooms available. The place is by the water and we got a room on the second floor with an awesome view, that in itself was a treat. We had a small balcony were we had wine and cheese looking the water. The room appered to have been recently renovated and it looks the same for the 3 adjecent ones.

Terimore is, from the outside, typical Oregon coast accommodations. Weather battered, a little old, but well taken care of. We stayed in «cottage» 29. Not so much a «cottage» as a small, older house. Pleasantly surprised by the interior. Very large, comfortable livingroom with a nice view of the bay. The only complaint, such as it is, is the size of the shower. It is small. Very small. But the water pressure and temperature make up for what it lacks in size.
If you want a quiet, clean, out the way place to stay, with great views, for a decent price, this is the place. If you want the Ritz, or expect it, this is certainly not the place.

My mom and I stayed here on our way home from CA. The beds were nice, and the sheets were soft and clean. The room was clean. But the view is beautiful. We had a private balcony with chairs and a table to just sit and listen to the ocean. Checking in was a breeze. I was greeted by a warn lady who was very informitve. Check out is noon so there is plenty of time to just sit and watch the waves.

My husband and I came here for the last few days of our honeymoon. They allowed us to bring our 120 lb dog, they provided doggie poop bags and a towel and dog biscuit for my dog. The room came with a microwave and a coffee maker, no toaster as promised, no plastic forks or paper plates or more permanent alternatives, which is really inconvenient if you’re not told you should bring some. I really wish they provided a broom or area rug because the sand and dog hair on the pergo flooring gets out of control so quickly.
The staff has been so helpful, giving us extra poop bags, loaning us a flashlight and letting us know about some pretty cool activities in the area.
I just really wish there were some plates and forks and maybe a little broom or something because there’s sand in the bed now.

Stayed here on our west coast road trip. I tend to avoid touristy spots and that’s exactly how we ended up at the Terimore. At no other hotel have I ever felt so isolated in such a stunning location. The sunset view is epic. Other than checking in, didn’t see a single other person anywhere (mid July). Direct access to the ocean, took my favorite photos in all of Oregon. It’s not fancy, but an older motel and a little rundown. If you require luxury and fancy restaurants, this is not for you. But it was clean, comfortable, had cable and location doesn’t get any better. Pics are at my blog:

Stayed here for a weekend. We were able to change rooms to get one bed to share. Such an awesome, unbeatable from our room 4. Carport parking space. Kitchenette was well equipped. Bed was in loft up a steep ladder/​staircase. Not recommended for older people or kids. Too bad the loft with the bed didn’t have a view too! Quiet place in a sleepy town. Could use a little work, but for the price and the view, just fine!

I’ve stayed here many times over the last 10 years. Not fancy but reasonably priced, clean rooms.

I am writing this from our room right now at the Terimore! Not a fancy place, but nice people and good location. There is no A/​C, only heat. Quite a shock for a couple of people from Texas! Fortunately, A/​C was not needed in mid-​August. We left the window open during our entire stay. It was pretty quiet at the beach, which we enjoyed. If you walk north on the beach you can get a glimpse of nearby Oceanside (beautiful beach). Wake up early and go down to the beach to watch the clams squirt water in low tide.
We are staying in room 23 which has a great view. The room has a mini-​fridge, small flat screen tv, and a microwave. There is a full-​size bed and a small table and chairs. The walls are fairly thin, but not really much of an issue for us. There are also berry bushes (Marionberry I think) on the path down to the beach.
Again, good location right on the beach with a view for a very reasonable price ($ 84/​night). Less then 10 min drive to Oceanside. Or you can just stay here and go crabbing or clamming at the beach below. Eat at Sugarfoot’s if you are in Netarts!

Wonderful place tucked away off the major highway (101). For $ 80 we got an ocean view and wonderful room. Yes the walls are thin but buy some earplugs if the snoring next door bothers you. :-) the view, access to the beach, wild life and service (laundromat) are unbeatable for the price!

I love the view, peacefulness, price, service was great (cute family is a host), & I love that they like dog there.
Within walking distance to 2 markets.
Dog fee is $ 7.
