Pulling into Needles after a long day of driving, I was ready for a decent meal, a shower and a bed. After reading the Unilocal reviews, I quickly realized my choices were limited. Munchy’s did not disappoint. It was easy to find and I parked right in front. Thanks to other reviews, I knew they were cash only. They staff were super friendly and do speak English, thankfully. The chips and salsa are super fresh and a must! I had the two soft taco plate and it was a generous portion. I ended up taking one of the tacos with me because they were hearty! They do have a soda machine, however, unsweetened fuze tea is offered, which I was pleased to discover. They did close promptly at 6:00 pm on a Saturday night, which was a little surprising.

Stumbled onto this place and we were all satisfied with delicious food! Our family highly recommends this stop if you are looking for authentic Mexican food. We had the California Burrito, Vege Burrito and Bean and Cheese burritos. FANTASTICO!!!

Basic standard fare well executed at a reasonable price. Friendly service. Guacamole was cut with sour cream which I do not care for. No obvious bathrooms. Spartan dining area with loud TV.

This place is definitely awesome and what Unilocal is all about. From the outside this place doesn’t look great, but don’t let that hold you back. The food is excellent! Get whatever you order to go and you will not be sorry! (I think the hours are listed incorrectly. They close at six pm on weekdays.)

1. There is basically nothing else in this area worth eating(McDonald’s) and Jack in the Box) 2. The presentation of the facilities is not wonderful, but let’s be honest… neither is anything else around here 3. That being said, the food was good(we had the quesadilla, carne asana burrito and asana tacos), the salsa tasted fresh and the price was VERY reasonable(two adults and a kid’s meal for $ 15) 4. Staff was friendly and polite 6. Super fast service 5. Wish they had high chairs and different table cloths(think ’90’s fruit/pear pattern) 6. VERY IMPORTANT-they only take cash 7. No visible bathroom 8. Seems to have a lot of regulars Bottoms line, drive past the known fast food joints and try it!

Guys, if you are looking for a great mom and pop place to eat, well this is it. We ate tacos, burritos, rice, beans with excellent salsa. Anna provided great hosting service with a sweet smile! It’s right across the street from the Amtrak station on Front street.

Wow!!! Unilocal really came for through for us on this one. We stopped here while heading back to Missouri after a long vacation in California. During our 17 day road trip, we ate at a lot of «counter service» restaurants, and this was one of out favorites. There are a few negatives(gross bathroom, very small, hot, cash only), but the excellent food, price, and service more than made up for it… and it truly deserves 5 stars(relative to other counter service restaurants.) The place is small and was already busy before our party of 11 piled in. There was only one person working up front, a teenager who was really on top of his game. He was really friendly and helpful, and he worked HARD to provide great service to everyone who came in. I hope his supervisor reads this, because he deserves a pat on the back. Prices were extremely reasonable and portions were large. I would eat here several times a week, if I didn’t live 1,400 miles away! All of our food was excellent, and my asada tacos were amazing. I wish that I was eating one now! Just off the highway and definitely worth the stop!

Food was excellent, big flautas, big burritos, very very hot(temp) tortillas. The ladies here are very nice. Will come back again.

I’m from Northern California and when I’m in the area for work I will always eat here. If your passing through it is worth a stop for very affordable, quick and authentic Mexican food. The only other options in this area are fast food and Denny’s. If you like home cooked food that is cheaper than the chain restaurants and a convenient location from the freeway exit than I highly recommend. Very nice folks, easy to get to, easy parking. My faves are the shrimp burrito and carnitas. The tacos are huge and filling. If you like to thrift there are a couple of great store on the same block. Enjoy :)

Impossible parking and the take cash only. The food might be good but they make it difficult to eat here.

Used to work across the street and thought I’d Unilocal this place as I remember getting several burritos there over the course of years. The owners and staff are very nice and used to making food for railroaders who need it before the train shows up, so it’s fast and very reasonably priced. Many times I was short on cash(they only take cash) and they comped me a drink or just took whatever I gave. I always tried to make up through tipping on subsequent visits. I hope no one reads that as an invitation to take advantage, just saying that’s the type of people who run this place. You don’t find service like that much any more. The burritos were consistently good, and they do accommodate special requests. Good green sauce as well. Highly recommend stopping in if you are passing through.

One of the most authentic Mexican restaurants I’ve eating at in a while. Friendly staff. Not much to talk about as far as the atmosphere but the potions are large, the food is good and the prices are cheap! Worth going back.

Stopped here after camping in Mojave National Preserve for some breakfast on our way east. It’s a hole in the wall, but a nice one. Pros: Cheap Good food(sausage omelete and huevos rancheros) Clean and well-kept The lady at the counter was very friendly and happy to speak Spanish even though it was clear that she spoke English waaaaaay better than we did Spanish Original oil paintings on the wall Cons: No heat(kinda chilly in Needles in December) No coffee, no horchata, no beverages other than soft drinks Cash only Styrofoam plates

I love this place. It’s across the street from the Needles, Ca. depot, nothing better than grabbing a Carne Asada soft taco($ 2.99 with tax) before and after work. A meal in itself. I’ve been assured that everything is fresh. I don’t doubt it having seen a cook scoop at least a dozen avocados for the amazing guacamole that seems to be on everything. The pico de gallo is also great. The crispy tacos are fried soft tacos, they seem more like empanadas with meat in them. Still good though. Free Chips and Salsa when eating in, the hot sauce has a little kick. Tasty.
