I have just found my new mechanic! These guys are so friendly and helpful and really seem to know what’s up! So far I have been there for an oil change but they also helped me out with another issue I was having and didn’t charge me! Definitely a good place to go for all your auto mechanic needs :) I know I will be back for sure.

I have had a really great experience with Kiser Automotive. I recently found them after looking for a new mechanic (my prior one retired). Steve and Ryan run a really great repair shop and are very very talented mechanics who take great pride in doing good work at honest prices. They have recently done repairs on my 2 cars (exhaust, brakes, and suspension). If a part can be rebuilt they do it, if not, they replace it. They are truly great mechanics. I am so happy i found them. I highly recommend them.

I have had a tough time in the past with Automotive Repair Shops. I always feel like I get the run around and I am never sure if I can trust what is being sold to me. With that said, I was on my way to my bachelorette weekend when I got a flat tire. I did a quick Unilocal search and found that Kiser came highly ranked. I decided to drive a little out of my way to bring my car here hoping for good service. What I received was actually above and beyond my expectations. Not only did they take me in immediately and fix my tire, while someone was working on my tire the other mechanic fixed the rubber on my door that was coming off since. The men in this shop could not have been any kinder or more helpful and at the end of it all they sent me on my way with a repaired tire and door and wanted nothing in return. All they said was «have a great bachelorette weekend and congratulations!». I was blown away. I would recommend their services to anyone and one thing is for sure I will be back whenever I need ANYTHING done to my car. Thank you Kiser Automotive!!!

From PA in Boston area for vacation and transmission went! Steve n Ryan were extremely helpful and got the new transmission put in quickly so we could get home! Even agreed to pay for our hotel since the Jasper transmission was only 5 months old n still under warranty. N they would argue with Jasper about reimbursing them so I didn’t have too. Thanks Kiser!!!

Steve is great! During the blizzard, my 14 year old Volvo skidded into the side of my house when I was parking, and the whole brake light assembly on the rear left side shattered. I took the car into Kiser Automotive, and the guys looked at it. Steve told me that I could get the part used on eBay for cheaper than he could order from Volvo. I found the brake light assembly used for $ 40 on eBay, and brought it in to Kiser. He fixed my car before my lunch break and only charged me $ 80 to install the part and change the bulb. I’m guessing that would have been at least $ 250 anywhere else. Great job, guys!

Honesty is the policy at Kiser. They are upfront, honest, and tell you what does, and more importantly, what doesn’t need to be fixed on the car. After the dealer told me I needed to get a new oil pan that would cost $ 1300, Steve told me I had a least six more months. After 7 months, it did need to be replaced, and Kiser did it for $ 850. They do great work and a reasonable price. The only reason I did not give them 5 stars is because trying to talk to them on the phone is like beating your head against a wall. The «sure, we will keep you updated» line means, «we will call you when it’s all done. Don’t call for an update.»

Let me put this simply. I will not bring my car anywhere else. Steve and the crew are timely, affordable and most of all knowledgeable. I am 25 and it took me 7 years to find my mechanic. I’m from Needham and most places put band aids on wounds and require surgery for scraped knees (If you catch my drift)… Kiser Automotive is no nonsense, varsity team talent. Man I wish I had heard of them sooner. Maybe this will help someone who has been through the ringer such as myself. At least now my ’85 Benz is in good hands.

I live in Needham and have been going to a very reliable and knowledgeable mechanic in Waltham, This time I decided to save the trip and go to a local mechanic. I did some searches in Google and Unilocal and decided to try Kiser Automotive based on their good reviews. My 1st experience with Steve was very positive. He diagnosed the problem, explained the options and recommended to go with a lower cost option which has resolved the issue. I will go to them again in the future!

I’ve taken my car to Kiser twice and been very happy with the results. They did what I asked — except for a couple of things they said I didn’t need — and their charges were quite reasonable. I will be taking both my cars to them from now on.
One thing worth mentioning — the place looks like a junkyard. Don’t be put off by that though. These guys do good work.

Thanks for a great repair job, and reasonable costs. Dealer quoted us at $ 1200.00, Kiser repaired it for $ 465.00. I feel like I am drying a new car. Worth any wait, and there wasn’t any!

Found these guys through Unilocal.They are great at what they do. Both times when I’ve used their services, whether to get my mirror fixed and brakes replaced, they did in a timely efficient, and trustworthy manner.
Most importantly I didn’t feel robbed, as I have when I’ve used a dealership, back when I was naïve about car repair.
I’ve recommended to others and have heard nothing but positive experiences.

Unilocal. Worth gold!
My daughter is a student and has had some car trouble. I won’t mention the other garage in this review, but the difference between them and Kiser is more than night and day. Because of the horrible experience at the other garage, and the fact that I’m 800 miles away, I turned to Unilocal to find some recommendations. I’m so glad I did.
The battery in her car died. This is not the first time, so I really wanted an overall check out of the electrical system to try to find out what was causing the problem. Talk about leaving yourself totally exposed to a bank account drain!!! But I have faith, and the other reviews tell it true. These guys are honest and trustworthy, and really made me (and my daughter) feel like they cared about our situation. What a surprise to find out it was only like $ 100 for all their work. I’m already talking to Steve about my next repairs.

I first found Steve because my car’s rebuilt Jasper engine needed servicing, and he was the nearest mechanic authorized under my warranty policy.
I am so thrilled I found him. I live in JP, so it can be a bit of a schlep to get out to Needham, but I don’t think there is anything more valuable, as a car owner, than a mechanic you can trust. The time it takes to get out there is SO worth it, and the Eliot T stop is about a 15 minute walk, in a pinch/​without a ride home.
Steve works on a full range of cars, both foreign (including Japanese and German) and domestic — and he clearly knows his stuff.
Steve went above and beyond the level of service and attention I’ve come to expect from a mechanic when it comes to problem-​solving my car troubles. I drive a classic Honda Accord, and time and again I’d hear people say they just couldn’t work on an old car (’81), or that I would have to find the parts myself (!?), or some other such run-​around. Steve gave me none of that. He is knowledgeable and thorough, and put hours of work into my car without charging me until he actually knew what he was repairing. I have even witnessed him not charge someone the full cost of a repair because it was higher than the quote he’d given them.
He is totally honest, and very clear that his first priority is that you are satisfied with your car and experience.
I just finished the process of searching for and buying a used car. I was looking mostly at privately-​owned cars, and Steve was more than willing to take a look at any car I brought in (for free), offered to schlep out to Quincy to look at a car, and even talked me through having another mechanic check over a car that I couldn’t get in to him.
I also want to second what Michael C said — you can’t judge a book by its cover. Steve’s shop isn’t sparkling clean, but I assume that’s because he spends all of his time working on the line of cars waiting for him, not straightening up the shop.
I refer everyone I know to Steve, and I even tend to babble on about how great he is (as evidenced by this review), because I am consistently impressed by his service, knowledge, thoughtfulness, and just plain old caring.

My wife’s family has been taking their cars to Steve for years. I was always hesitant to take my car to Steve though as his shop looks more like a junk yard than an auto repair shop.
Well as the old cliché goes you can’t judge a book by its cover. I recently relented and brought my car to Steve. He is great! Steve’s very knowledgeable, extremely pleasant to deal with, and his prices are very reasonable.
I will absolutely continue to call Steve for my auto-​repair needs. In fact, I need to call him about some new tires. ..

I live in Boston, so getting to the mechanic is a bit of a hassle but Steve makes it worth it.
Steve is knowledgeable and honest. Both my partner and I have been having some car issues lately and he has been amazing to deal with.
Using the triangle of cheap, fast, and good, Steve is *good* and affordable (when is car repair ever cheap?). He doesn’t seem to have the quickest turnaround, but I don’t use my car huge amounts, so this doesn’t bother me.
He is more than happy to talk with you about your car and *wants* you to ask questions — he told me that he would rather be asked 10,000 meaningless questions than have someone be unhappy with him for not looking at something they wanted him to look at.
It’s safe to say that I am a fan of Steve.
