My boyfriend and I were pleasantly surprised with how nice the cabins were — they seemed grand-spanking new. Despite how small the space looks from the outside, the space inside is used really efficiently. There’s the either queen or full size bed, a little room with two bunk beds(which we didn’t use, but the five-year-old in us kind of wanted to use), a refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, table, Direct TV, good heaters, nice bathrooms. When it rained at night, the sound on the roof was peaceful to us, but maybe that’s because it wasn’t a windy weekend. The only minus was that we ran out of hot water in the morning because I maybe took too long of a shower. I’ll bet they have a boiler that gives limited hot water — not a huge problem, though. Just don’t get too relaxed in the shower like I did. It was a wonderful location because it was across from the only good place to eat in Neah Bay – the Warmhouse(their locally-caught cod is reeeally good) – and it was a short drive to other places we wanted to go – Cape Flattery and Shi Shi Beach. We definitely want to come back to this place. And next time, I’ll let the boyfriend take his shower first!

Sites: Most sites are pretty close together. No picnic table. Have a fire ring. The sites furthest from the office have a nice shaded area behind your RV. Hook ups: FHU(30amp) Bathrooms: did not check Laundry: Sufficient. Run down room in need of paint and some holes patched. 2 washer and 2 dryers were old, but worked fine. Table for folding. $ 1.50 wash $ 1.50 dry for 45 minutes Pets: Pet friendly. No rules for pets. A few dogs off leash and wondering the park. Left my dogs alone. WiFi: Yes, free, but pretty slow. Verizon Internet: Average Sprint Internet: No service Verizon cell: Worked fine. AT&T cell: No service Book Exchange: Small book exchange in laundry. Activities: Nothing planned. But marina across the street for lots of Salmon fishing. Mail delivery accepted: Yes Area/Town/Sights: Cape Flattery is the most NW point of the continental US. Makah Museum. Fishing. Since there is not much choice, this is one of the better campgrounds. There are also some really nice cabins newly built. They were 85% full the whole week we were here.

This place needs an up-to-date review, because the little wood cabin we stayed in was spankin’ new and adorable. Nothing but the smell of fresh cedar and environmentally-friendly cleaning products(we asked the woman in the office and she confirmed that call) in the gleaming bathroom. Sweet little kitchenette(only a microwave, coffee maker and teensy fridge) and porch with a view – of the parking lot! The little side room with the bunk beds was damn cute, and made me think it would be a fun place for a family. This is a cozy room to rest and wash in between outdoor adventures, not a great hang-out-and-watch-TV place. I wished we could’ve stayed another night. The motel right across the street from the only breakfast place in town, and next to the post office – don’t forget to send postcards! Do buy lots of Take Home Salmon and keep it in the teensy fridge to refuel in between adventures. Also, there’s an excellent pie and fry bread snackerie down the road that’s not on Unilocal but you all should go there.

What an experience. I have to start by saying I wasn’t expecting too much and on that front I wasn’t disappointed. For roughly twice the price of a Motel 6 we had 2 beds and a bathroom. That’s pretty much it. There was a TV there but when I checked in it was mentioned in passing«…did I mention that there’s no TV or cable…» This detail wouldn’t have mattered had she mentioned it when I made the reservation as I’d have brought a movie for the kids to watch following the 7 hour drive. I’d brought the computer anyway… there’s no Internet either. As for dogs… they«allow» dogs and charge a nominal fee for the privilege. This was the determining factor in choosing this hotel. Another detail not mentioned is that they don’t want them in the room alone… even if they’re muzzled… so if you want to grab a quick bite to eat, better think again… and yes they checked when they saw us(most of us) leaving the room. The Cape Motel impressed me as someplace that was once a destination; maybe one of those places people went to just to go fishing and enjoy the family & summer on the water… quaint cabins at the far corner of the country… Sadly those days are long gone and the facilities are definitely showing the years of ware with a soft bathroom floor and the disconcerting fragrance of mildew in the air. On a positive note… it did keep the rain off which made it better than the original plan of camping… for that it gets the one star.
