Navarre Beach Campground

First and foremost, it was a very friendly place. The employees were always pleasant to deal with when needed. The park itself is typical of an RV park developed when RV’s were a lot smaller. The roads are narrow, but passable by large 5^th wheels and coaches (carefully). The sites (at least the one we were in), are clean and level, but small. You could tell this was a ‘snowbird’ destination as most of the sites were occupied by long term residents. The facilities were clean and well kept. We would stay there again if in the area.

Great place, friendly staff and nice, clean facilities. Loved staying on the sound, comfortable man made beach set up and nice fishing pier. There are bike lanes along 98 to the bridge over to the Navarre Beach. Had an enjoyable bike ride over to the beach!

A very nice park with great people working there. Easy to find. The interior roads are narrow and the spaces are somewhat close together. The park entry has a gate to control access. Lots of trees. The dog walk is shaded and meanders along one park boundary for several hundred yards. The restrooms are centrally located and clean. The pool is well maintained. The area is well lit at night. The parking spaces are gravel with well located utilities. The only reason I did not give the park five stars is the Wi-​Fi is not very good. I ended up using my phone as a hot spot most of the time we were there. We were in the area for several days and saw two other parks near by. Neither was anywhere as nice as this park. We will definitely stay here again.

Love, love, love this cozy, happy little gam of a place. Just returned from our 2^nd stay here and enjoyed it immensely!
Pluses… Clean, friendly campers & staff, off the beaten path, not over crowded like the main beach tends to be.
Negatives… Cabin size is thght so don’t attempt to fit more than one older couple in the downstairs bedroom, one young couple in the loft and one child in the space. It would be most helpful if they would install some sort of A/​C in the loft.
We will be back for round 3 ASAP!

We really enjoyed staying here in the laid-​back, beachy campground. We were surprised that we didn’t have access to the beach, but grew to really appreciate the quiet nearby man-​made beach with two tiki huts. The park is in excellent condition and workers are constantly cleaning and picking up the park. We would definitely come back! I would have given more stars, but they didn’t honor our Good Sam discount because we didn’t give it at check-​in, no apologies. They also didn’t provide us with the updated access code and just sat and watched us repeatedly enter the wrong code vs coming out to provide the correct code.

I would go there again, but it is not a first choice. There is sand & water, but «beach» is a marketing stretch. Pool & hot tub area is pretty good. The only negative experience we had was a massive sewer overflow from the neighboring site that went straight under our pop-​up while we were cooking lunch. The staff went quickly to fix it & we evacuated the campground. It was tolerable when we returned. They never offered even a simple apology.

Navarre Beach Campground was certainly a delightful surprise. Generally we enjoy the more open and spacious rving experience of «rv resorts» verses the traditional «campground» experience. Since we have a 40 ft fifth wheel and large truck we prefer wider roads, less trees, easy in and outs, and a more modern appeal. We greatly enjoyed campgrounds years ago when we had a 24 ft motorhome, but we have some concerns about «campgrounds» since we are now full-​timing in the larger rv. Despite being close to the beach, which generally means tighter spots, we were pleased with the easy access we had to our site. We had friends staying in a cabin across from our rv. The cabins are nice welcome from the traditional hotel rooms and right in the campground so we could be right near our friends and simply walk across the camp road to see each other. Yes, there are lots of trees throughout the park, but easy to get around and into our site. The staff was friendly and helpful, as we were quickly checked in and escorted to our site. We felt very welcome by the staffs cheerful attitude. They asked us if we needed help getting set up and provided some local information about where to enjoy a good meal and the best way to enjoy the gulf beaches and the scenic drive along Santa Rosa Island. Quite refreshing to the usual take your money and you are on your own attitude that seems to be so prevalent today. The campground is located on the Santa Rosa Sound which made it quaint and quiet, but is was a quick and easy one mile drive to the Navarre Bridge and to the gulf beaches which were some of the best we’ve ever seen. The campground has it’s own private location on the sound and it’s nice to just walk over, grab a lounge chair on the sand and quietly enjoy the view and the breeze off the water. Located between the heavily popular and sometimes congested areas of Destin and Pensacola Beach (about 20 miles in either direction), it was truly nice to be in a less popular «busy» area, but still close to everything to enjoy it all. Lots of local restaurants just minutes away without all the congestion. The campground was extremely clean, bushes and trees neatly trimmed, and cheerful with the beach type colors popping up everywhere it that made it seem like the perfect place to stay. The staff always seemed to be busy keeping the park looking nice, but not too busy to always wave or stop by to see if we needed anything. We were impressed to have our expectations exceeded by their friendly helpful personalities which made us feel not only welcome but gave us a «right at home» feeling. One little thing that caught out attention was that they always referred to customers as guests, not only a nice touch, but a feeling of belonging and being appreciated. We visited nearby Rv Resorts, and despite their usual appeal to us, we will certainly return to Navarre Beach Campground not only for the park it’s self, but the helpfulness of the staff. The only thing that was not to our liking was some other customers (renters) that were staying in a beach cabin and thought that courtesy and rules did not apply to them. Not having or caring about campground and rving courtesy and etiquette or quiet time, they seemed to believe that they were above the rules that were in place to ensure everyone’s mutual enjoyment. Drinking and smoking in the pool/​hot tub area and giving the staff a difficult time when they tried to remind them of the rules. We felt bad for the staffer because he was one of the nicest guys. Aside from that, it’s a perfect vacation or stopover while traveling. Our next visit will be planned for a longer stay. This is certainly one of the areas Best Kept Secrets. Can’t help but feel that a 5 Star rating is not enough. Great for a close getaway for us. Y’all enjoy.

My family (9 of us) booked a cabin at this campground thinking we were going to spend a nice family vacation on the beach together. Since we all live in different parts of the country, this is something we like to do every two years. We were very disappointed when we arrived to see that the beachside cabin was a small shack next to a small sandbox overlooking the intracoastal (not a «real» beach) with a stairway down to the murky brown water (i.e. no swimming — at least a 5 – 10 minute drive in traffic to get to the nearest beach). Rather than demand a refund and try to find some real beach-​front accommodations, we decided to make a go of it at NBC partly because the staff was so helpful when checking in and partly because the campground itself was quaint. We were «rewarded» on just about a daily basis by what was, hands down, the worst customer service we’ve ever received. Whether it was my wife, myself, my brother, my sister-​in-​law or my parent… we all had to deal with crabby staff members at some point during our stay. On the second night, a thunderstorm knocked out the electricity. When I went up to the office to advise the staff I was grumpily told that the office does not open for another half hour. When my brother went up several hours later to inquire the status of getting the power back on, he was curtly told that they were working on it. The next day, I had to wash all my musty wet clothes but the washer ate my quarters. I went to the office to get a refund for the washer and the detergent that was purchased from their vending machine, but wasted in the washer. Two laddies barely said a word to me other than to question why I was asking for an extra dollar over the price of the washing machine load (even though I already explained the detergent situation), then looked at me doubtingly. When they changed the gate access code and my wife and I had to return to the campground without the rest of the family to get our baby stroller, we stopped in to get the new code. The lady snapped at my wife, saying that they already gave it to my stepfather. We had to justify to her why we should also be given the code to get through the gate to get the cabin we paid ¹⁄₃ the cost of renting! They then had the audacity to complain about having to give us the code to my brother and sister-​in-​law when they saw them and threatened to kick us out of the campground because of all the problems we were causing, citing harassing an employee the previous night in the pool area when he tried to close it down (there were several of us there, from several sites that jokingly offered the worker a drink and invited him to join us rather than close down the pool deck). It was a week of one thing after another with these people. We briefly discussed coming back next year because of the pricing and we did like the Gulf Islands National Seashore, but quickly decided we did not want to give any more money to this campground and have begun looking at beach-​house rentals in the area instead. Save yourselves the headache and do the same.

A little tight for a 45 foot Motorhome. Very clean staff was great. Roads also a little narrow. But overall a good experience.

The new staff this year is out of this world. Our month long stay has far exceeded our expectations because of the wonderful people working here now. Thanks Mark, Wallie, Tonya and Sunny for the best trip yet!

Don’t be deceived by the entrance.
We parked there and then toured the park.
The further back you got the better it got. We got a standard site about 200 feet from a nice private beach area.
A pier goes out about 100 feet and offers spectacular sunset views.
Our site has full hook ups a concrete pad with free wi fi and cable tv.
³⁰⁄₅₀ amp service.
The pool and hot tub are very clean and well maintained.
There are 2 other parks near by which also look good.
Santa Rosa rv resort is new and cost a little more but right on the main road = noisy.
