The prices are ridiculous, the floors are filthy, it’s takes at least 20 minutes to have your fish cleaned. This estimate is not including it to be fried. Im basing this all on a slow day with literally 5 customers as I stand here just waiting. There is only one person working on the cash register. Everyone else is in the back doing who knows what. Couldn’t get help from anyone to help me in the aisle. This used to be Family Loompya and used to be the spot for Filipinos to go to. Now it’s just another Asian market to me.

This place. While growing up around here it use to be Family Lumpia. For quite awhile it’s not Island Pacific. It turned out awesome! It looks bigger, good remodeling. Kind of like a small version of Seafood City but better than Manila Seafood! Got a few groceries, I’m glad they my favorite chips Piattios cheese flavor in STOCK and in a BIGBAG! You can get veggies, seafood, meats, fish fried basically anything! Only thing I feel bad is the solicitor that young guy maybe around in his early 30s asking for change. Literally outside the door asking people walking in/out of the store or by the store. Oh yeah– always hated parking here and getting in and out!

I liked this place better when it was Family Loompya Supermarket. I guess the HD shut them down … Maybe that’s why I didn’t notice any cats running around near the dumpster area last weekend. Anyway, no more fried Tilapia while you wait. It’s nicely remodeled but seems smaller. We went in, walked around and left without buying anything. I guess we’ll stick with Seafood City and Ranch 99.

This place has always been my go to place. Too bad the health inspectors closed them down :(

I’m not sure what makes more sense. Appetizer portions being more than the entrée or the entrée being more expensive with less portions. I had the sausage, egg and rice. It was expensive for the portion… Not much else to review. Wouldn’t come again.

This was one of the OG asian markets in national city and the southeast. i remember my lola takin me here and picking crabs with her bare teeth. gutting bangus and tilapia with her feet and butchering chickens with her free hands. they got pretty much everything you need to make all the standard filipino dishes. i actually had a class with the dude whos dad owns this place. pretty neat. parking is kinda thrilla in manila and theres tons of other filipino shops in the plaza. one of my number ones for stopping in fo ice crame, toro toro, and fresh fried tilapia, ya digg

Family Loompya is a family-owned, Filipino supermarket, which has been a local favorite, for over a decade. It’s a typical Asian market, crowded with Filipino packaged foods, Asian-specific produce and a meat and seafood butcher shop. There is even a beauty corner, if you are looking for your favorite facial cleanser. Eskinol, anyone? If you want to go someplace, less crowded than Seafood City, this is your next best choice. Lots of parking, located behind the market. No crazy drivers, political activists or religious recruiters here. I always come here for those specialized meats, used in exotic Filipino dishes. The only problem with this place is that they always run out of the langka(jackfruit) ice cream. *Grrrrr* But, I especially love this place for it’s handmade longanisa. Whether it’s spicey or sweet, it’s absolutely delicious. It’s not as fatty as some of the other brands out there. It’s so good, my out-of-town relatives ALWAYS make it a point to shop for their longanisa here. For the non-Asians, you can also find frozen lumpia, that you can fry up yourself. Family Loompya has it’s own brand of lumpia for purchase. The goods are relatively inexpensive. And, even though I’m a non-Tagalog speaker(first gen Fil-Am here), everyone who works here has always been helpful and friendly, when I shop here. It’s also conveniently located next to Tita’s Kitchenette. So, if you are hungry before/after you shop, you can always grab a $ 6 combo.
