Elite Event: Candy Pros

WOW, this review was in the unfinished bank… I thought I had posted this ages ago… it must have been that Watermelon Jolly Rancher Drink… they were serving that night! :0
I thought the drive was nice for sure. I took the 52 to the 5 and made excellent timing to this event. Music and entertainment was great. A candy wonderland with Jelly Belly mascots dancing all around. This was a great fiesta, lots of people having fun and eating champagne jelly bellys and vodka gummi bears… can we say that we were all in high spirits!!!
I never knew or have heard about this warehouse filled with candy. There was a lot of CANDY. Vintage candy, mexican candy, new types of candies I have never heard of. I felt like I was in a Willy Wonka movie… sadly without Johnny Depp. My favorite candy was the pink cadillacs, they tasted peach. Of course the vodka gummi bears were hit for everyone.
I urge anyone preparing for an event, to come here for their sweet needs.
They also had items like apparel and paper goods for any event needed. They prices seemed very cost effective. We went through a tour and i liked how the family who owns Candy Pros, educated us on Candy. After the tour, they was wide buffet of candy, and we were able to sample all kinds of goodies.
This was a very SWEET experience and I sugarly thank Brad and Sandra for setting things up.

This event was pretty neat, I always wondered what was in those warehouses. CandyPros was such a treat to be able to have some candy infused vodka shots, champagne infused jelly beans and all with a side of tacos and nachos (which were amaaazing).
The family who owns CandyPros was nice enough to give us all a tour of the warehouse and really take us back down memory lane, cavities and all. I could feel my teeth wiggling out my gums as we walked down each aisle! I was surprised at the amount of candy they had packaged in bulk, as well as other things like special poptart flavors and quest bars. The owners were nice enough to give us baggies to pick out some of our favorite treats they had available on a table.
Lots of photos were taken, met some new peeps and boogied with the candyman in the candy suit. Awesome job Brad & Sandra!

Such a long over due review.
This was another fun Unilocal event. Candy Pros warehouse full of candy brought back fond memories of my childhood as well as visits to the dentist. There was so much to choose from: flavors, textures, shapes — you name it — they’ll probably have the weird candy you barely remembered as a kid.
The owners were so gracious and their tour of the candy warehouse was fun and informative.
They mentioned it was hard for them during the heat wave as there’s no a/​c in the building (there’s plenty of breeze though that flows through I think). So it’s great the colder weather is upon us at the moment.
There was plenty of parking on the street in case you can’t find a spot in their lot.
I can’t wait to visit them when I’m back in the area and stock up on candy presents for the holidays!

Beers, tacos and candy oh my! Unilocal,if you weren’t before you are now speaking my language! Candy pros, you did it up right! I am and always be in love with you guys.
The sweetest elite event this year (tee hee see what I did there). So much candy and great people. I even learned a little at this event. The candy store feels like that of a Wonka factory yet for purchase oh boy did I want to purchase! The walls were stacked with different candies that brought back so many great memories. Heather was a great tour guide telling us a little about the store as well as giving us fun trivia questions to win cool prizes.
The deals are awesome, I know were to send anyone looking for candy in bulk… shoot even if they aren’t they can share with me! I’m a little afraid to share this gem with my kids for fear of never leaving. They have a wide assortment of other stuff as well. Meal replacement bars are also priced quite great. I’m going to hit them up for snacks for the monster boy to take to school. I have to buy EVERYTHING in bulk when it comes to the monster boy.
At the event I met Mariana from clearly kombucha she enlightened me on this new fancy drink. Apparently it hydrates you faster than water and has probiotics that are good for us. Ha I never knew! I was honest and said I tasted it before and was definitely not a fan but I was open to give it another go. I tasted a few till I found my flavor, the strawberry one. It was tasty and I’ve been keeping an eye out for it in stores. Thanks Mariana you rock!
Excellent elite event Brad and Sandra! Sorry I was late, some time life happens but I would never stand up my awesome elite family… on purpose. Love you guys!

Going into the Candy Pro warehouse it seems like everyone instantly gets transformed into that excited little girl or little boy from childhood, remembering the first time you went into a candy store. Such a mixture of hope, wonder, imagination and feeling invincible.
The dancing Jelly Belly persona really did a wonderful job of dancing around, greeting everyone with high fives, posing for pictures and jamming to the music! My inner Jelly Belly danced right alongside, well in my head anyway!
My favorite part of the event is getting to know the Candy Pro family just a little bit more from the informative speech. Warms my heart to see the love, unity and pride that obviously goes into the Candy Pro family.
While standing in line waiting eagerly for Brad and Sandra to do their finishing touch’s on this exciting event, I chatted a bit with new Unilocal friends and met more really nice Unilocal people along the way. It was obvious while asking questions and chatting a bit with the generous Taquizas Jose’ owner how much pride he takes in his food. I sampled the spicy beans, rice, chicken and carne asada taco’s with special avocado sauce, cheese, onions and cilantro. Oh so wonderfully tender, juicy they melt in my mouth. Summoning up my courage, I took the ‘bean boozled’ challenge by spinning the card. Thankfully I got the buttered pop corn flavor, yum! Glad I did not get the centipede or pencil shaving jelly belly! While tasting the delicious watermelon cocktail, I spied the candy table had vodka gummy bears that just melted in your mouth, delicious!
The inside tour of the Candy Pro warehouse exceeded my expectations! So many different varieties of candy, protein bars and party/​candy containers. Exciting to see ‘long lost’ candy you just don’t find anywhere else! During the tour the group got asked different questions and whomever answered correctly got a t-​shirt! Woohoo! And last but not least, each Unilocal person received a glass Unilocal cup that we could fill up with candy, (so cool!) and a jelly belly gift bag with an assortment of (yes you guessed it) more candy! Think I’m gonna be on a sugar high until all my candy gets eaten!
Candy Pro’s will be on my list of places to go for any type of celebration! Oh darn Halloween is getting closer, I must go back and get more candy!

At the risk of being corny, this event was a Sweet Success! Thank you Candy Pros! Brad, Sandra and everyone else who made this event happen.
I had a complete blast! From rolling up to see a dancing Jelly Belly wiggle it to the bags of candy that we were sent home with.
This was an event to remember. It reminded me of when kids are little and dream about being able to wander through a candy maxe and be delighted with treats.
The tacos were amazing. You could smell them when you walked up to line up for the YEE.
After that we strolled in and had the chance to be Bean Boozled. And rewared with a chance for our Wonka Bars to have the Winning Golden ticket.
The treats were fun and candy themed. Champagne flavored jelly bean in min champagne glasses. Others were filled with Apple Stoli infused Gummy Bears! My fave, I even got the recipe from Susan H. The whole Candy Pros team was fantastic. It was a delight to see a family owned business where it seemed that each family member was involved in the business.
The warehouse tour was fun. I loved how we were given a playing card that told us what tour we would be part of. This gave me a chance to mingle with people that I had not met yet.
It was great fun to see my fellow Elites and havr a delicious time at this event.
Thanks again for another amazing event that delighted me and my dentist. I cant wait to go back and visit Candy Pros. I saw tons of atuff in their warehouse that gave me ideas for treats and parties.

Another YEE has me exploring an area I don’t frequent too often to explore another hidden gem of San Diego. September’s YEE installment had the Elites explore a warehouse that houses such a wide assortment of candy and other miscellaneous edibles. Thanks to Brad and Sandra for hosting this event, Chris for taking photos, Jelly Belly for the Bean Boozled booth, Clearly Kombucha for the kombucha samples, Taquizas Jose for the delicious tacos and the Candy Pros staff for being such gracious hosts.
CONCEPT: Candy Pros is a family-​owned business spanning 2 generations. The youngest child, Susan, runs the warehouse along with her other siblings. To say that Candy Pros has a wide selection of candy is a huge understatement. They purport to be the biggest supplier of Mexican candy outside of Mexico with prices comparable to Tijuana’s so people wouldn’t have to cross the border. Most candies are sold in bulk as their clientele comprises of convenience stores and gas stations, though their warehouse is also open to the general public for tours and purchases. They also have a decent selection of protein bars such as Clif and Kind.
Most notably they are known for their candy buffets. After finishing the tour of the warehouse Elites got to fill a Unilocal cup of a selection of candy. Their candy buffets can feed up to 50 people and are based on color. They have candy for every color but black.
TOUR: The tour was conducted in three big groups based on suit; everyone had to pick a card upon check-​in. The family led the groups through their warehouse, exploring their history in every aisle while asking candy-​related trivia questions to win prizes. Some tidbits.
— Pop Rocks reaction is based on the release of carbon dioxide.
— The name Hershey’s Kisses originated as the release of these miniature chocolates would release a «kissing» sound.
TACOS: Supplied by Taquizas Jose. They had a selection of carne asada, chicken and adobada tacos and cheese and mulitas quesadillas. They fill up that taco with meat and provided generous sides of salsa, rice and beans. They also provided nachos with the cheese being served fondue-​style.
JELLY BELLY: Remember the weird flavors in the Bertie Bott’s beans? The weird and wild flavors got repackaged to another line. They are made and mixed with standard Jelly Belly flavor and when consumed a person can get a standard or weird flavor. We all had to spin the wheel to determine what flavor we got. I got a green bean that could either mean juicy pear or booger. Luckily I got juicy pear. For some combinations such as pencil shavings, skunk spray or centipede I wonder how someone would think up what said items would taste like. Maybe someone has a pretty good imagination.
CLEARLY KOMBUCHA: We got to try samples of their kombucha and got to bring home a bottle. I got chai cola, which actually has a cola-​like taste with less than ¹⁄₁₀ of the calories.
SPECIALS
— Vodka-​infused gummy bears caused the gummy bears to be more sticky than usual. They are surprisingly very strong. The champagne Jelly Bellys did not taste like champagne.
— I loved the Jolly Roger Watermelon cocktail. It was quite refreshing and tasted like a Jolly Roger with the salt rim that makes the mouth pucker, just like a real Jolly Rancher.
— Candy flavored liquor shots that are also quite strong.
— The Jelly Belly man trying to wow the crowd with his dance moves.
— Willy Wonka bars with 5 golden tickets inside giving lucky winners a bag of candy from the warehouse.
Because of this event I know now of a place that can cater tacos as well as a place outside of Costco where I can purchase candies in bulk. I’ll definitely recommend the candy buffet to someone that needs a unique party idea.

Candy Land! Candy Land ! A Unilocal Event at Candy Land!
Actually, a really fun evening at CandyPros, San Diego’s largest candy warehouse. This exciting place offers more than 3,000 choices, including old-​time treats, current favorites, and Mexican candies galore. The colors were a delight for the eyes. I never would’ve known that there were so many kinds of candy out there.
A bunch of San Diego’s finest Elite Unilocalers were treated to a balmy night at the warehouse, with delicious catered tacos, a delightful bar serving candy infused cocktails, a live DJ, and a tour (with samples) through the massive CandyPros warehouse!
This is a genuine family owned and operated business. The pride in their business was very evident — The family seem to glow in knowing that so many elite Unilocalers we’re taking advantage of their very generous offer to host this party. Not only did they offer us samples of their candies, but also something that’s harder to find Their genuine joy of running a successful family business in a world where that’s becoming rarer and rarer.
Many thanks to Brad, Sandra, and the entire CandyPros family for a super fun night! I know I will be back to CandyPros to buy some of their treats!

Next to going to Tijuana (on Estefany’s events), this is my first South of San Diego event. I don’t remember when the last time we had any event south of the city. But Brad knows all and encompasses all of San Diego to provide us with events.
CandyPros is a wholesaler located in National City, the family who runs the business was so welcoming and happy to see Unilocalers and we were mutually happy. Not necessarily a Candyland theme but an event full of sweetness all around from the cocktails, the free treats to try and the goodie bag on the way out. Mr Very Cherry Jelly Belly was all over greeting, dancing and taking pictures with all of us. Food was happily provided that gave us a contrast to the sweet things. Golden tickets a la Wonka was to be had and was won by 5 lucky Unilocalers. Fortunately, none of them saw any Oompa Loompas or got sucked into the chocolate syrup tube.
Unilocal Elite Event for the books. Had a great time. Thank you Brad and to Candy Pros and all our friendly vendors (kombucha, tacos and nachos!).
Until the next time, maybe the Oompa Loompas will come out for Halloween and entertain us on the next event! Yahoo!!!

I dreamt of swimming in the piles of candy, doing a backstroke and laughing manically as I am showered with jelly beans by Very Cherry Jelly Belly last night.
This sugar high dream couldn’t have been possible without Brad and the amazing folks from Candy Pros. The night was filled with child hood nostalgia, candy loving folks and random dancing outburst.
CandyPros opened up their doors and welcomed YE to tour their abundance of bulk candy (who remembers Whatyamacallits) with fun trival games along the way. This place has everything from salt water taffy, gummies, Mexican candies, and we even spotted Cup o Noodles. I absolutely loved the last aisle, not because it was more candy but it was health bars and protein bars… very out of place but at the same time providing some good balance to the ever so overwhelming selection of sweets.
Towards the end of the tour we were given out a Unilocal pint glass and filled it up with candy, candy and more candy! (random thought: if you grabbed a Unilocal shot glass, you can do some Unilocal Irish Car Bombs.) Got a grab bag of various goodies and took goofy and slightly inappropriate pictures with the candy props. I kind of felt like Katy Perry for a second.
Throughout the whole night there were fun activities and other tables… tacos, drinks (that lime skittles shot reminded me of the Nickelodeon slime… who remembers that!?!) the fun Bean Boozled Jelly Belly game (Thank goodness I got peach. I couldn’t deal with Barf after eating a taco.) and sampled some Kom-​boo-​chya!
The family is amazing, the Jelly Belly person was fun and the Unilocal Elites are the best!

I have such a sweet tooth that not a day goes by that I won’t have something sweet. So when i got the invite and saw that it was held at candy factory I prayed to the sugar gods to let me be accepted. Prayers answered!
This event was well put together. There was a station for some delicious tacos and nachos that also had a cheese fountain that I thought was awesome. There was a drink station that served a watermelon jolly rancher with tajin and 3 different flavored skittle shots. Another table with with Kombucha samplers. A fun table that you spin and taste whatever jelly bean it landed on… i had barf lol! Now my favorite table had to be vodka gummy bears table. Those gummy bears was addicting and i kept coming back. really thought I would get drunk off those lol.
Best part about this event is we get to take a tour of the factory and learn the family business’ history. This was a mom and pops store that grew with each of their hard work. Im glad Candy Pro is here and still thriving. But really you guys should have just taken my credit card so i can stock up. I live so far away from this place.

Such a SWEET event!
Loved every minute of the this YEE at Candy Pros, from beginning to end. To think I was only planning to stay for 30 minutes. Who was I kidding?
Creatively done. At check-​in, we were given the usual Unilocal name badges, labeled with our first name and initial of our last name, but also handed a card from a deck of Unilocal playing cards, a clever way of organizing the tour of the warehouse by grouping everyone by suits of their given card — Hearts, Diamonds, Spades, Clubs. Unfortunately, I have ADD and missed my turn with the Clubs grouping. So, I just joined the last tour group of the evening
Grabbed a couple of Unilocal swag (a luggage tag and shot glass) from one of the table stools to add to my collection, before proceeding to the food table. Maritess C. joined me in the food line and kindly handed me a plate in which to sample the great Mexican bites provided by Taquizas José. Quesadillas laden with melted cheese dripping from a fondue fountain, your choice of grilled adobada, pollo asado, or carne asada mulitas with all of the fixings, salsa, rice, and beans.
Then, onto the game table where I got Bean Boozled by Nima (?), the youngest daughter of the family-​owned business. I didn’t quite understand the object of the game, but it involved Jelly Bellies, so I didn’t really care too much if I won or lost. Candy in my mouth is always a win-​win in my book! At the other end of the table were rows of Wonka Bars. If we showed our check-​in to Candy Pros on Unilocal,we were given the opportunity to pick a Wonka Bar that may contain a GOLDEN TICKET, just like the movie. The winners were to win what else, but candy, of course! There were 5 bars containing golden tickets, but mine wasn’t one of them. It was a fun game, nonetheless, again because it involved CANDY!
Clearly Kombucha had a separate stand, displaying and giving out sample cups of their different flavors. I was told they have a 2 for $ 5 promo going on at participating stores, such as Bristol Farms, through January 2016.
Little champagne glasses filled with champagne-​flavored Jelly Bellies and alcohol-​infused gummy bears were lined up neatly on a another table. I had one of each.
The bar offered beer and Watermelon Jolly Rancher and vodka cocktail, rimmed with chamoy. The latter afforded me enough liquid courage to shimmy on next to Sabrina K., where we attempted to Whip and Nae Nae to the DJ’s music for a brief five seconds.
My favorite part of the event was the tour of the Candy Pros warehouse, which was led by Susan, another one of the daughters of the business owners. Upon entering, I snapped a picture with the live Jelly Belly. The tour was both educational and fun. Candy Pros has been in business for around 35 years and only opened its doors to the public about 4 years ago. Susan explained that their public business hours were once limited to just two days a week, but they are now open to the public six days a week, Mon-​Sat from 10am-​4pm. They are also the largest source of candy in San Diego.
Going down the aisles, we saw shelves full of all sorts of candy — chocolate bars, gummies, taffy, mints, toy candy, hard candy, nostalgic candy, celebration gum balls, and the largest selection of Mexican candy I’d ever seen. During the tour, Susan’s brother, Johnny, asked a few candy-​related trivia questions. First person to blurt out the correct answer won a candy T-​shirt.
Interestingly enough, the last aisle had shelves full of non candy items, such as Pop Tarts, snacks, and protein bars (the company’s second best-​seller). Towards the end were colored plastic candy containers, clear candy jars, candy boxes and bags, and a few decorations. Great place to shop for parties. The tour ended with a nice handout of a Unilocal glass in which to fill with your choice from the candy buffet table.
I always enjoy coming to these events to mingle with old friends and make new ones. I even photo-​bombed a large group of Unilocal Elites, most of whom I’d never met. Surprise! «Who the heck is that in our picture?» I could hear it now.

I will surely have to hit the gym hard tomorrow to work off all of the sugar calories and will be scheduling an appointment with my dentist soon.

O hai GOLD TICKET in my WONKA BAR!!! Yup, I was one of 5 winners of the chose of a 5lb bag of bulk candy and I chose my Hershey’s kisses.
Did someone say candy??? I’m totally there if it has anything to do with chocolate… Yup, I’ll take chocolate over wine any day and this event definitely did not disappoint. This event is farther south than normal and this event couldn’t have come at a better time. I’m actually looking for bulk candy for my upcoming wedding! YA!
Candy Pros is located in an industrial area behind a shopping center and conveniently off the freeway. Parking was ample and free! There was about 100 Unilocal Elites in attendance and loved the intimacy. The weather was perfect for this semi-​outdoor event.
There were tacos in the air and I had some nibbles There were also some Jelly Bean samples and a probiotic drink in the house. There was a dancing Jelly Bean that was freakin’ everyone, which was awesome.
The gracious family owned business took us on tours of the facility and I thought I was in heaven. I totally wanted to prance around the aisles and sample everything but unfortunately I’m trying to fit into a wedding dress!
I can’t say enough about the staff of Candy Pro. They are so down to earth, personable and they were always smiling. Must be the sugar highs they have all the time with all that candy!!! I’d be the same way too. Such a fun event and we were all provided goodie bags with candy and coupons.

The epitome of a family business! Thank you Candy Pros for opening up your arms and welcoming the Unilocal Elite family into yours.
I’ve been to Candy Pros before so I knew we were going to be in for a sweet treat.
I was one of the first few people to make my way to the South Bay. My girl Maritess was the early bird of the night and was already waiting at the lot. We waited in line where I saw so many familiar faces from Soo to Mel, and Jeff to Marlene.
I headed straight into the taco line. There was a freaking Nacho Cheese Fountain at the nacho station! I started off with and bowl of nachos and some tasty carne and pollo tacos. Gotta love the melted cheese on the tortilla.
I grabbed a Jolly Rancher cocktail and hit up a belly bar with the homie, Jeff M. The cocktail had the most delicious Tajin rim. While we scarfed down our tacos, we heard an announcement that the gummy bears were infused with Apple Vodka… Say whhaaattt?! We made our way to the table where we sampled a tiny martini glass filled with the funky bears… So good! Cheers buddy! Those coupled with the Champagne Jelly Belly beans got my sugar high going!
Mr. Very Cherry Jelly Belly was getting his swerve on, so I had to jump into the mix. If you know me, you know if the DJ is playing the jams, I’m getting my dance on. I was happy to see some other Unilocalers shaking their money makers too. While I’m at it, props to the DJ for throwing in some sweets-​related jams.
The highlight of the night was next: a tour of the warehouse! My group was Clubs. Our tour was with Sandra. We got some background on the family business and made our way down the aisles of heavenly goodness.
After cruising each aisle and exploring the varieties of candy, we were asked candy related Trivia questions. Our group answered all the questions correctly. Yours truly answered Q: «What was Now & Laters original slogan?» A: «Eat some Now, Save some for Later». Yaaaaaaayy! Winner of a T-​shirt right here!
On he way out, We got to fill up on some candy treats from the Candy Buffet table that was set up. I went for the Mexican candy and gum balls! My favs.
Before the unveiling of the Willy Wonka Golden Ticket winners, we got to hear from the family. They were super appreciative of the Unilocal community and raised a champagne jelly belly toast to us! My pals Jeremy & Soo were two of the winners of 5 pound candy bags! Sweet win guys!
The night ended on a high note for me when the DJ played my request for «Candy Rain»!

There’s no sugar coating necessary on this sweet event. Candy Pros delivered a wonderful hosting experience along with delicious tacos, treats and a Unilocal glass full of candy.
Don’t be me wrong, I want candy! But l don’t have a sweet tooth craving. I grabbed as many samples from jelly beans, gum balls, chocolate malt balls, gummy worms galore, various saltwater taffy, Wonka wrapping on a Hershey bar, 3 tacos (I ordered en español), Jelly Bean ball and other sweets worth trying.
The highlight was the candy tour. I felt like a kid again. It was like a sugar rush entering every aisle. Not in a candy store, but a warehouse that stretches from Altoids to Zots.
It was great seeing CM’s Brad and Estefany along with Wendy. But the sweet hospitality of the staff stole the show. Not only they are kind, but are wonderful people running a family runned business.
The fat: National City’s sweet spot is right here.
The skinny: Don’t tell your dentist about this place.

Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory
Ever since I was a little kid and I read Willy Wonka & the Chocolate factory I dreamed of getting the golden ticket and a tour of the Chocolate Factory. I was excited to see Unilocal was holding an event at a candy warehouse. Smoke was rising into the evening sky when I arrived. I followed the delicious scent and found Taquizas Jose busy grilling tacos. I tried the carne asada, chicken, and adodaba tacos. The meats were tender and had a delicious smoky flavor. Corn tortilla was hot off the grill and a bit greasy. They were really delicious but I forced myself to stop after I got up to 6 and the party was ending. Thanks Taquizas Jose for the awesome tacos!
The most anticipated part of the evening was when I was allowed entrance to the glorious warehouse. They let us inside in 4 separate tour groups. I suppose someone must have tipped the owners I might lose control and start sampling the candy as I wandered about. It was just a youthful indiscretion from when I was 6 at Fedmart… Inside it was like a Costco filled with just candy. Inside was all the candy I ever wanted. I made notes on the candy I wanted most I would need to purchase on a return visit. Jelly Belly’s, rock candy, Harry Potter chocolate frogs… At the end of the tour a big gift bag of candy was waiting and a Unilocal glass we could fill with any candy we wanted from the candy buffet table.
The party concluded with the golden ticket reveal. There was a table where you could get a Willy Wonka bar and 5 of the bars had golden tickets. I unwrapped my bar and inside was a golden ticket! My mind raced as I was thinking about what wondrous prize I might have won… The 5 winners were led inside and our prize was we could each select any 5lb bag of candy we wanted in the center isle. So many choices… I chose a bag of 7up flavored Jelly Belly’s. Mmm… Delicious jelly beans all for me!
I wandered into the night with a huge bag of candy and lived happily ever after.
Thanks Brad, Sandra, Estefany, and every one at Candypros for giving me what I always wanted. Special thanks to the generous geniuses who were involved in the Golden Ticket. :-)

Remember candy cigarettes? They are the reason I never started smoking. After all, to a kid, candy cigarettes are a sweet deal, and nothing beats that! We were the cool kids, smokin’ our candy cigarettes in the backyard. Where can you buy those now? I know, at Candy Pros! We enjoyed the most fun Elite Event at Candy Pros, a secret warehouse full of over 3,000 different candy products, in National City. It’s been proudly family owned and family run for over 30 years. Started as a little place, and now it’s a warehouse! It’s open to the public, so yeah, you can stop by and find your favorite candy, that you loved as a kid.
They also have the best Mexican candy variety, outside of TJ. I’m excited to return to the warehouse to stock up on hard to find candies. It’s open Monday thru Saturday, 10:00 til 4:00.
Brad B, it’s sweet to be Elite! I enjoyed the tour of the candy warehouse, and also dancing with the live Jelly Belly! My fellow Unilocalers were fun to hang out with as we compared notes on our favorite candies.
Pork and carnitas tacos were provided by a caterer called Taquizas Jose, by Jose B Caicedo, and I grabbed their business card, as they also can cater small groups as small as 30 people, or large groups. The carne asada and adobada was freshly made and tasty, and the salsas were great, especially the green salsa. The beans had a nice bite to them.
It was fun chatting with the Mom & Pop owners of Candy Pros and their adult kids, who have grown up in the business, and they now run it together.
Vodka was jollied up in The Candy Pro Jolly Rancher Watermelon cocktail. Two of these had me jolly as a jelly bean. Don’t be jelly… I know you wish you had joined us. Stop on by the Candy Pros warehouse and I bet they have your fav!

OK, my Dentist would probably be upset with me for being here. He even wants me to give up soda, let alone candy. Whatever!
Yet another awesome party, Brad! Unilocal swag like glitter bouncy balls, shot glasses, and lip balms were waiting for us. Plus, tiny champagne glasses filled with Champagne Jelly Bellys and Alcohol Gummy Bears! WHAT?!?
Cocktails based on candy flavors, and Kombucha. (OK, so they made me a strawberry-​kiwi-​lime spritzer, I always custom order stuff!) An awesome taco bar, even a nacho cheese fountain (take that, chocolate fountain!)
We did the Jelly Belly game to earn a Wonka Bar, trying to win 1 of 5 golden tickets. Nope, not a winner. We took a tour of the Candypros warehouse, and played candy trivia for prizes (yes, I won a prize, natch!) And we filled up a Unilocal Pint Glass with candy from the candy buffet!
The Dancing Jelly Belly was hilarious, even doing the Dougie! The DJ had tons of candy related tunes ready also. All of the staff at Candypros were awesome, making us feel like we were part of their family! Need a ton of candy? Now you know where to go!

This event was by far the most fun I have ever had at a Unilocal elite event! There’s something about candy that just makes everyone have a great time! This even shows you that Unilocal loves local businesses and not just restaurants but business owners who work hard for their families!
I RSVP’d for this event due to fate. The day that the RSVP opened, I was looking at online candy to buy for my wedding’s candy buffet. I was about to click «submit» to place an order at a different company when I decided to look at the Unilocal calendar and lo and behold… Brad puts up this Candy Pros event!
The candy Gods and Unilocal Gods definitely were giving me a sign and telling me not to purchase my candy from a corporate bulk candy business, rather, they wanted me to experience the Candy Pros!
This event started off and ended with super delicious food and drinks and lots of candy! As we went on the tour of the warehouse, we got to answer fun trivia questions and won random candy-​related prizes (nice touch, Candy Pros, nice touch). As the tour ended, us lucky Unilocalers were given the chance to fill our Unilocal glasses with candy at the candy buffet! This was such a fun experience! I really loved this extra touch! Not only were we given a go at the candy buffet but we were also given a goodie bag with a coupon, more candy, and some Nutter Butters! Yums!
Way to go to spoil us, Brad and Sandra! You two are so good at what you do and it is all to us lucky Unilocalers’ benefit! I really enjoyed everything at the event tonight and made me really love Unilocal that much more!

This is one of the most coolest event ever. Free candy. I got here a little early to find parking and the location.
As I walked over, I saw Sabrina whom I chatted with and got to hang out with. I saw Marlene soon after and even met new ones along the way. I got to see Jackie, Jennifer, and met Nette and Jeff. Also saw Linda, Mel, Soo, Maggie, Maria and so many of my friends.
CandyPros is a warehouse full of candy. It’s a family owned business with great people who work there. They have Mexican Candy, chocolates, gummy bears, and whatever candy floats your boat. We got an awesome tour of the warehouse and there was so much candy. I really wanted to purchase some candy. Maybe when I’m having that craving. We were given a glass to fill up candy with. I grabbed one of each. Thanks CandyPros for the candy!
We were fed tacos. You got your choice of chicken, beef or pork. There was also rice and beans provided. They also had chips and salsa with nacho cheese. After that line, we got to spin the wheel to see if we won a prize. You get a free chocolate bar if you check in to CandyPros. If you get a golden ticket, you win a prize. Congrats to Soo and Maria for winning the prize! There was a bar serving up some good drinks. One was a watermelon alcoholic drink. I don’t recall the name. I had an awesome time with my Elite friends! See you at the next one!
